Modesto, CA
I have always been pleased with THIS starbucks. Its actually faster to go inside than wait in the 10 car drive through pile up.
Usually when I see more than 6 cars..I just go inside. No line. I am in and out within 5 minutes..and the same cars are still in the drive thre..plus some.
First time I stopped at this Starbucks I got a ticket for turning on a No-U turn area..since I wasn't very familiar on how to get back on the freeway from this starbucks...after a warning from the Ripon Police...I sure learned quick!!! -

The staff needs some coffee. No personality what-so-ever. women's bathroom was barely clean.

The only reason I would go to this Starbucks is if the traffic is dead stopped on the freeway going to Manteca AND Modesto. The staff would benefit from a few espresso shots in their system.

The drive through speaker blows!!
We spent a good 5 minute at the window simply repeating our order! -

Very probably the slowest most disorganized Starbucks ever. Next to the Flying J. Last Saturday morning I stood in line for a good 10 minutes behind only 4 people. Needing to get back on the road in a hurry I thought it would be quick to order a mild drip coffee. No turns out they had to brew it. They didn't mention it until I was back out of line waiting for them to deliver the coffee. About 7 minutes later I had my coffee. It took nearly 20 minutes to get a beverage that should have only taken 30 seconds. Very disappointing experience.
How is it that coffee shops don't have coffee ready when 7-11 always has it ready? I added one star because I think they're open 24x7 though. Now that I think about it I would probably just get a Rockstar and some Popcorn at Flying J. -

I wouldn't normally bother to review a Starbucks, they're all pretty consistent, I'm a big fan, I love their coffee and their baked goods are usually top notch so this review is all about the service. Have you ever been to a place that's given you consistently bad service and wondered why you still go there? In Ripon that's a question we should ask ourselves about our local Starbucks drive-thru.
Drive-thru operations aren't really complex; McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell and countless other chains have been in the drive-thru business for years and have been highly successful. Apparently the problems arise when you add coffee to the mix. I can't tell you how many times I've gone through the Ripon Starbucks drive-thru, which is supposed to be convenient for those of us in a hurry, and had to wait longer then I would at the DMV. I particularly enjoy being stuck in the coffee traffic jam right next to the foul smelling garbage can that looks like it hasn't been dumped since the place opened. I also enjoy screaming my head off as the barista is trying to take my order because the genius that built the place didn't realize that no one would be able to hear a word you say when you position your speaker as close to the freeway as possible without taking an on ramp.
The coffee is always good and it's the only game in town so chances are you'll find me sitting in the drive-thru tomorrow morning, you'll be able to recognize me easily enough, I'll be the one endlessly waiting by the garbage can or giving the speaker the finger while I try to be polite because its really not the barista's fault. -

This is my favorite Starbucks. I stop here every morning. It's really nice to be recognized by all the staff. They are always smiling and have nice things to say to you when you pull up to the window. They brew the coffee exactly the way I like it strong but not bitter. I got 5 starbucks gift cards for Christmas so I will be enjoying it for a long time.

I was SO happy about the arrival of the new Starbucks off of Jack Tone Road! I always stop at the Flying J to fill up on gas when I'm in the central valley- so the fact that this Starbucks has a drive thru is a big plus! Gotta have my tall Americano for the road!

This is a great Starbucks location. The service is really fast and efficient. It's nice to see a damn Starbucks that has separate baristas for the drive-thru and walk-in. For some reason Manteca Bucks only has one person making coffee for both, grrr! Sucks though that flies in the Valley are gnarly right now, so be prepared to sit inside with tons swarming around your head and your food/drink. As always the drive-thru line is crazy, your best bet is to stop being a lazy ass and walk in, you'll be happy you did.

I really like this Starbucks! They always remember you, they're super friendly and hey, maybe the last guy was not a cute girl like me haha! But I was in line 2 Saturdays ago and waited about 10 minutes in line. When I got up to the drive thru window it seemed like the computer was freaking out and all the orders were out of whack. The nice guy at the window asked what I ordered and handed it to me, apologized and said don't worry about it! I was amazed! Free Coffee and Pastries whoo hoo! I actually didn't mind waiting since I was preoccupied on my cell phone:) Thanks Starbucks Colony Road!
