Latte's are not consistent, at times they are great and so often they are just ok.. I normally avoid giving average reviews but the coffee most time is just that average..

Super friendly staff.  They actually remember my name.  Big points.

The new Vivanno. The new breakfast/anytime protein smoothie.  270 calories / 21g protein / 6g fiber / 2g fat.  The chocolate banana is my choice.  Add 2 shots and you get your caffeine fix too!  Yummy and healthy.

Starbuck's Rewards Card.  Register your card!  You get free soy with your drinks.  A savings of $.40 per latte.  Worth it. (If you're a syrup adder you also get that free)

I like my latte's strong.  Real strong.  Starbucks can generally miss this mark.  However, when I can order up a triple-soy-iced latte for the same price as a medium soy latte at Peet's that's a good compromise.

Reduced fat turkey bacon breakfast sandwich.  Delicious.  Low fat.  Low cal.  A latte and a breakfast meal in one-shot.  Sold.

Caffeine fix.  Healthy breakfast & food options.  One-stop-shop.

Okay, by a miss fortune I had to go to said Starbucks again. 5.20.2008
Guess what, no coffee brewed again.
How how how??????????
One man stormed out, I just took my place in the sitting area I have become so accustomed to and waited for them to brew again.
I just do not get it.

Tried again?

Ok Here goes I went back.....
Once again they were out of coffee. This time I was asked to wait 3 minutes for a new batch and was given for free.
Well free is not true, it ended up in their tip jar.
Why why why do they always run out of coffee when I am there,

Ok 1st review

1st and foremost I should know better than coming to Starbucks for coffee since I rant spend your money with local establishments.
-1 star for me.
I tend to choose Starbucks for speed. I made the mistake 3 times in one week, yes I am slow, to get coffee here.
Now 3x in a week I cannot get coffee because they are brewing it.
OK, what are we selling here at Starbucks? COFFEE!
Have the shit ready, why make people wait while you brew it.
Do you not shake the tank and go, wow it is a 1/4 full we should get the next batch brewing?
I have 3 yes 3 Starbucks within equal distance of me, now in my head after 3 yes 3 times I only have 2.

Just your average Starbucks. Nothing special. I'm just grateful they have a few outlets in strategic locations for my laptop and the place is generally clean and not too noisy when I need to get my work done.

I love this Starbuck's but it has gone done hill. No consistency with management and baristas are not on top of their game (what's going on Starbuck's?).

It takes ten minutes to make a iced venti passion tea lemonade and a frappuccino at 3pm in the afternoon. There are three customers, myself included, waiting for their drinks with three baristas on the floor. A ten minute wait for my drinks on top of that there are two other drinks in queue for the customers behind me? Are you serious?! The barista at the espresso machine was yakking to a friend that was standing next to the cash registrar and taking her sweet time making the drinks. I've waited long enough and ask to get me drinks, she gives me a look, proceeds to talk to her friend, and then reaches to give me my drink. WTF?!

Sorry, but I will go somewhere else and get my coffee even though it's out of my way, I won't have to wait ten minutes for two drinks.

Although I seriously considered running for President, given the frightening choices, instead I am officially launching the "Anti-Starbucks" campaign. It turns out I am really behind the times. There is already www.ihatestarbucks.com. which is kind of low-brow. But, the much more creative www.delocator.net is awesome. It allows you to quickly find a non-corporate coffee shop in your zip code. Try it.

It's not the corporate thing that bugs the crap out of me. I am a Sincerely Devoted Capitalist. It's the sinfully mediocre coffee.

All you have to do is walk four blocks and you can have Heaven on Earth at Peets. Or walk 2 blocks and sit in Cafe Borrone, read a book from Kepler's [which you should also support unless you want to spend the rest of your life browsing Amazon.com and not bathing], and enjoy a real coffee shop run by a local businessman who cares.

If Starbucks stuck to the Frappuccinos and Candy-colored Frou Frou drinks and ceased to ruin the Good Name of Coffee, I would ask my Loyal Constituents to lower their guns and axes, and let Starbucks continue to exist. Until then, I ask you to not darken the door of this Unholy Blasphemous Sacrilege. This is a Religious War. Do not be mistaken. It is just a matter of time before Starbucks will suck your dog into its Evil Vortex and have him eating Frappu-Biscuits. Then it's too late.

If we are successful then I promise to run for President. With the Yelp community fervently behind me, I am assured victory. Thank you.

I pretty much loathe Starbucks, but this location is a'ite. I bring my kids in here (like I've said like 1000000x, I'm a nanny) and although they point to everything and make ordering a pain in the ass for the employees, I've never felt really pressured to go faster... despite the perpetual 15 foot long line. Today a d00d who works here smiled and asked if they were my siblings or if I was a babysitter. I like being smiled at.*

* I'm also a grammar nazi, so writing that sentence was slightly painful. If you don't understand why, then you are not a fellow nerd.

I would usually prefer to patronize another coffee shop in downtown Menlo Park- either Cafe Borrone (for the hangout factor), Menlo Cafe (for the with food factor) or Peets (for the better coffee factor) but am often drawn to this location for the following factors:

- the frappuccino factor:  sometimes I just really want one
- the reliably fast factor: particularly during early morning rush times when I have to be somewhere soon (easy parking then too)
-the clean factor:  I had a friend who was a manager there briefly, and even as a little bit of a germophobe, she was impressed with the hygenicness

This location is sometimes a bit dirty, and you have to deal with finding parking in downtown Menlo Park, which is sometimes difficult.

Vegan Report: I don't drink coffee. Starbucks is my favorite coffee house chain for getting a hot chocolate with soy milk (no whipped cream).
