It's a Starbucks. Physically they follow the same canned structure that all Starbucks do, nothing special. The music is exactly what you'd find at any other Starbucks. It is nothing special or remarkable.
The staff are appropriately pleasant but not exceptionally out going. I've been to other stores where the staff are extremely friendly. I attribute that to a luck of the draw as far as prospective employees go.
So why not a mid range of at least 3 stars? There is one thing they do at this store that I have yet to experience elsewhere and it is VERY annoying: if you're in line at the register (weekday mornings specifically) and one of their regulars, that they recognize, comes in AFTER you have waited in line they will skip you to wait on the regular. It blows my fucking mind. Aren't we taught from toddlers on that waiting your turn is the very fabric of a good society?
One might argue that the regular was just getting a Pike's Drip coffee but so was I. And I have had this happen on no less than three separate occasions, which would lead me to believe this is simply the common practice. Fuck that. Especially when as you read other reviews this shop doesn't have stellar service to begin with.
And let's face it Starbucks isn't good coffee. Yeah I know what some other idiots wrote about their great coffee but Starbucks is to coffee what Olive Garden is to fine Italian. If someone told you they were taking you to a nice restaurant then pulled in to Olive Garden and you were excited then you're probably pretty nasty. No offense. -

Was getting my my oil changed and tires rotated near by so I stopped in because it was going to be an hour... I'm getting old walked passed two bars and a liquor store to get into this Starbucks. Ordered a Venti Black Coffee, employee there was very freindly, the coffee cost about $2 and was pretty good. Best part is they have free WiFi, free Wall Street Journal and hot chicks studying there. Definitely a good place to kill time while your car is being worked on or you are trying to sober up after hitting one of those 2 bars in the same plaza.

Starbucks is Starbucks for the most part. They are all basically the same, right? This one is literally 2 minutes from my house. The problem is the lines are always long in the morning. It has repeatedly taken over 30 minutes to get in and out of there. That is just way too long for a cup of coffee. Because of that, I drive further down to the Starbucks on Balboa and Devonshire and can get in and out and back home in less time then hitting this one....and yes, they have equally long lines.

First Starbucks in Granada Hills! Finally!
When I first noticed the construction going on a couple of months ago, I thought to myself "Nice, a Starbucks that's actually NEXT to where I live". It has a nice location at the Knollwood Plaza on Balboa Blvd. The plaza has a very small town feeling to it especially with the HOWS MARKET there. But Starbucks being there didn't seem to ruin its "small town" feeling for me.
The people are great there, great service as usual and of course you can't complain about the drinks. The place has plenty of parking and its at a very quiet part of town.
Type of crowd: Well I've noticed every time I get a drink and come outside to have smoke, all I see are Granada Hill's finest teeny bopper's and rich kids always with their pack. But hey, thats Granada Hills for you. -

Starbucks is starbucks. But in terms of staff, these people are extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude, and have no customer service skills at all.
An already paid-for group order was placed with the male manager earlier in the day @ 10am or so.
I was picking up the coffee for a wedding rehearsal dinner that's starting at 530pm. I was also 7 months pregnant and in heels. I walked in at 545pm to pick up the order that was supposed to be ready at 5-530pm. There was 1 person ahead of me in line....and that was it. wasn't busy at all. I explain that I'm picking up the order and describe what should have been ready and the 2 girls that were "on the floor" were absolutely CLUELESS. Apparently their manager either didn't pass on the order or they were not smart enough to keep track of their orders that they were given.
They didn't apologize and all they said it would take them 15 min to get ready. So I sit and wait...for 20-25 minutes. and FINALLY they get all 4 carafes of coffee, 2 bags of cups/sugar/napkins, and 2 cups of creamer ready.
As I'm struggling to get all this stuff ready and bring it to my car, there are now THREE girls standing around. NO ONE OFFERS TO HELP ME. I'm 29yrs old and although I'm not super young, I gotta say kids nowadays are just lazy and have no common sense to offer decent customer service. -

This is a newer Starbucks. They have a great set up and friendly staffers. In the mornings, you can expect a long wait. Also one worker always taps the head of the syrup bottles on the counters before putting it in your coffee drink so it collects the germs from the counters. Not very sanitary. If it wasn't for this and the slow service they would get a higher grade.

Rich kids live in Granada Hills? That's news to me. I've seen some pretty strange characters wander into this place, but overall, it's just your average, run-of-the-mill Starbizzle. It's small, yes, but most of the time I can get a table to do some work and no one bothers me. That is usually during the day, as it gets busier during after school hours and evening, when a bunch of teenie boppers come in.
The drinks are made fast and the baristas here are quite nice. Parking is fairly easy to get here and there is a McDonald's right next door for your added convenience, as well as a post office, UPS store, Subway and a few other places I can't recall off the top of my head. -

a hi-5 to this starbucks!!
i love their set up inside... it isn't a huge starbucks, but it is still very comfortable. they have a decent number of comfy chairs in there, relative to its overall size. a great place to chat it up with a friend. the baristas are friendly and it is in a quiet part of town... perfect!
