O, evil corporate giant Starbucks.
I'm so glad you are here. When I've been on the road since Seattle and still have a half-hour plus to go down to Ocean Shores, I am SO FRIGGING happy to see your little (almost) naked mythic monstress of caffeinated oblivion.
Hit me with your brown, sticky love, baby.

Clusterfuck would describe my experience at this Starbucks.
I've been to this location before, and my last experience here wasn't much better than this... today, way too many people milling around waiting to order, one person working the register. Really? I realize there's a drive-thru as well, but seriously, 3 people on the drive, one on the counter? Get it together... I can't really fault the chica working the counter, she was nice, and as courteous as she could be under the circumstances. Nonetheless, ask for some help from your compatriots if you can't hang. And clearly, not hangin' was the scenario of the day...
Beyond these concerns, something I was surprised by is the lack of cleanliness in the seating areas and tables. There's crumbs and uck all over the floors (under EACH table); including used straws, wrappers, and general ickiness. None of the tables were clean - crumb city... coffee stain city... not cool city. Again, I realize you're busy, but if you can't keep the place tidied up, put more people on the schedule or whatever it takes... get it done. In this vein, I even overheard two of the people working here, as I'm typing this, say, "do I need to clean up the seating area, or do you think it's OK?" The other person responded, "It's clean enough, don't worry about it." HELLO!? No.
I realize this is a chain, so I shouldn't expect anything impeccable or amazing. But, this is a chain in my homeland, and it pisses me off that I could have gone to the McDonald's across the street for free WiFi and a $1 iced tea, instead of spending 5 bucks and wasting my time here.
No go. Sorry. NO GO. -

- Woke up at 3am in Othello, WA.
- Drove nearly 400 miles in a birding marathon to arrive in Westport at dusk.
- The lack of sleep starts to catch up while driving through the winding roads in the dark.
- Arrive in Aberdeen at 10:00pm, see Starbucks and pull in.
- The sweet chatty drive through clerk lifts more than just my spirits.
- Make it back to Seattle at 11:55
Thanks mystery girl at Aberdeen Starbucks...it was either the coffee you handed me or our infectious and too brief conversation but I made it home safely and in great time!
