I'm gonna do my best to avoid any and all star puns, or even the usage of the word "stellar" when describing this great neighborhood pizza place.
From the classic pizza parlor booths, to their great outdoors garden, Star is a beacon of hope amidst the Gaps, Expresses and Starbucks that have polluted Steinway Street.
They deliver a deliciously crispy slice that is ahhemm... out of this world. Sorry.
I agree with everyone else - the pizza is just average; nothing special and no different from most pizza places I've been to. But they do have televisions, which is a first. My mushroom pizza probably had less than 8 slices of mushrooms and it wasn't reheated that well. The staff were kind though and the wait was fast.
Pizza is just okay. Classic parlor a bit, but with steam tables that made me feel a little uncomfortable. There's just something about steam tables at a pizzeria that is unsettling.
It's better than many, but there are much better in the neighborhood. Por ejemplo, Posito a block away. The crust has a little too much texture and not enough moist for a non-thin slice.
Staff is nice and the steam tables seem okay, but still... nothing outstanding. Not even great. Astoria? are you listening?
My favorite pizza place in Astoria. Pizza has the perfect mix of flavorful sauce and crispy crust.
Their delivery is fast and efficient, and you can pay with a credit card.
Great service, attentive staff, fantastic food
If you are looking for delivery, they also do that and are quick about it.
Once I was on time out for throwing my little cousin on the ground when I wanted to play her xylophone. I counted to 1,789 to pass the time. That's probably close to the number of times I've been to Star Pizza.
Whether you're craving a plain slice, some garlic knots, their signature "Ceasar Salad" slice, or an authentic pasta dish - look no further than Steinway's best pizza shop.
Everything at Star is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. If you go there twice a day like some people (no names mentioned), they'll know you real quick and you might even get some perks. (Free garlic knots anyone?)
I love this pizza place. It was my favorite pizza place when I was in the neighborhood. I feel like I should be giving Star a five but four is probably more accurate. The pizza here on most nights is flawless and don't get me started on the sandwiches.
The guys that work here are funny. I liked them despite them eye humping my girl every time we came here. I took it as a compliment.
Best veal parm hero in Astoria. I have been eating them for 7 years. They also have great penne a la vodka. Pizza is very good as well. Quite possibly the best all around pizzeria in Astoria.
