Bob took in the sides, shortened the sleeves, and shortened the length of a sportcoat for me and did it quite well.  When I was getting measured for it, I wanted it slimmer than his own recommendation, and he used my guidelines instead of his own.  A lot of old tailors just ignore your own suggestions.  

A few months later, I had a suit done here.  He did a similarly good job but it was delayed for over a week.  Luckily I had brought the suit in 3 weeks before my interview.  I would still come back, though.

I couldn't be less happy. I dropped off a brand new leather blazer to have the sleeves shortened and he inexplicably shortened the leather, but left the lining at full length, so it balloons out midway down the sleeve. He gathered the extra lining and sewed a seam around the base of the bunched up extra fabric. Both sleeves now have an uncomfortable clump of extra lining mid-arm and it's now unwearable.

I'm probably going to have to take it to another tailor and have the sleeves re-lined, and by the time I'm through will probably spend as much as the cost of the jacket on tailors. It was also returned with a conspicuous visible scratch on the back, after having never been worn.

Bob is a phenomenal tailor. I throw around compliments like this as often as I toss manhole covers... I moved from Los Gatos to Napa 2 years ago and I still drive to Menlo Park so Bob can alter my clothing. I wouldn't trust anyone else like I have trusted him for literally decades.

My go-to tailor for kids and my clothing, dress and daily wear.  Excellent quality no matter what the chore, from zipper swap to sleeve lengthening to making a close-fitting suit look like it was made for me.

Bob is always friendly and professional.  I've been going here for tailoring for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.  His workmanship is top notch and his prices can't be beat.  Recently he was kind enough to hem a pair of pants I needed for a wedding the following day.  Bob had them done in 3 hours and didn't even charge me extra for the expedited service.  I hope he lives forever so I never have to face the reality that I will never be able to find a better tailor.  5 stars just isn't enough.

I take everything to Bob.  He's replaced zippers, fixed hems, took in pants.  I am happy with all his work.

nice guy- old school tailor....his prices seem fair, but wish it could have been a better experience.

he tailored a wedding suit, and i put on the pants the morning of the wedding....about 2" too short....good times.  

Lesson #1: try on the clothes before leaving the tailor;
Lesson #2: try another tailor.

Shut up!  He's the outside tailor for Nordies, Neiman's and WB?!  

Well, like Jessy B., I, too, was disappointed and had made the mistake of bringing in several pairs of suit pants and jeans to have hemmed (since I am slightly obsessive-compulsive and caught a crazy hemming wind).  

I warned Bob that although my gams might LOOK perfect, the right is definitely longer than the left.  He said *no problem*, and proceeded to chalk me up.  Unfortunately for silly me, who brought in 7 pairs of pants to a brand-new tailor, I am now the proud owner of multiple half high-waters/half floor-skimming trousers.

But, I'll give him props on customer service and the fact that he's an old school tailor, which is cool in my book.

Had a suit jacket and pants altered.  It was ready right when he promised and the suit fit perfectly.  He is one of the nicest guys around and my family has been going to him for years.  I had a great conversation with him lqast time I was there about the importance of finding a job that make you happy which I really enjoyed.  Great service, very friendly an.d I definitely will continue to use him

Well, I'm sorry to say Bob was a disappointment.  I always start a new tailor with a hem.  That way, if they are not good, its not so disastrous.  I brought Bob pants to hem.  I asked him to simply move the existing hem up in order to maintain that rough up hem look that came with the pants.  He said it was no problem, he does it all the time.  When I returned for the pants, he hadn't done what I asked and created a new hem.  When I asked him about it, he said that I didn't need the existing hem lifted and that it wasn't noticeable.  But I obviously noticed it!  He then proceeded to charge me $20 for them hem, pretty steep by any standards.  I wouldn't go back to a tailor who didn't do what he said he would.  Too bad - I like supporting local businesses but Bob is a no go.

I like Bob! He is an old school tailor who knows his craft. He adjusted the shoulders and sleeves  on a very expensive alpaca overcoat we got in Peru and did a marvelous job. He has also adjusted several suits as well.

He's okay--if you don't mind having stuff redone like 9 million times.
He's charming, but that is sort of where it stops. I never feel like a priority. For three separate jobs I've had to take stuff back. He kind of ruins things.

If I were you, I'd run away.

Yeah, I just tried to lower pants that he hemmed incorrectly and he wrecked 130.00 jeans. Wrecked them. Plus he's not a native English speaker and doesn't practice good customer service so there is like no way I'd ever recover the funds. Run away from him.

Bob is an old school old guy.   With that said, he's one of the coolest old guys ever.  I don't know what problems others may have had, but the only issue I've ever had is with the pick up time.  Let's just say bob's memory of when things are supposed to be ready may leave something to be desired...but you know that going in, so you show up a day or two before he told you to, and then your cloths will be ready onetime. Or you take the other road and give him a few extra days.  At any rate, bob rules, I won't use anyone else, and if he says something should be a certain way, it probably should.

Bob is the outside tailor for Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Wilkes Bashford.  

He is great and does a superb job on all my suits that I have and has a quick turnaround time.  The only reason he did not get 5 stars is that he is pretty expensive.

I have used Bob for basic alterations for over 10 years.  Occasionally items are not ready when promised, but I am always satisfied with his work and love his friendly manner.  He greets long term customers by name and is a wonderful asset to the neighborhood.
