6 reviews for Stanford Terrace Inn
One of Stanford Terrace Inn's Favorite Reviews What's This?
My brother got the genius genes ... he goes to Stanford. He also puts on an amazing fashion show that was on his campus on 5/2/09. I wasn't going to miss this show - so I got a hotel room here for Saturday night.
For $109 a night, I was impressed with this place. It doesn't have a restaurant/lounge or a sea of palm trees when you approach it (like it's counterpart The Stanford Park Hotel down the street at $189 a night), but it does have:
-Easy, Underground Parking
-Friendly Staff
-Clean Pool
-HUGE rooms.
-Really nice bathrooms.
-A "green" policy for their sheets/towels. They don't replace them unless you request it. I thought this was pretty cool.
-Starbucks next door & Wahoo's within walking distance across the street
-Free Breakfast in the AM
-They let me check in early and check out late.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and when I come back to visit my scholar of a brother, I'll probably stay in this hotel again.

The devil is in the details and in this case, neither devil nor detail was forgotten here. Absolutely AMAZING service and details, and awesome amenities.
Since Laura S already mentioned all the key bullets, I won't repeat them but add to a bit.
-A workout room (not the biggest, but hey, it will do)
-A Japanese-like Zen garden
-The most amazing continental breakfast with make-your-own waffles! Hint from staff: take the ripest banana you can find from the fruit bowl, mash it up in the batter cup and then stir the batter in. Let the waffle machine go for a few seconds longer than the beep (if you like your waffles a little on the toasty side) MMMmmmm, delicious!!
-Great full-length closet mirrors
-The most comfortable beds you can imagine!!
I wasn't in need of any emergency supplies (like toothbrush, etc.) so I can't say for certain, but I think if you forget these items at home, they will charge you for them, since they have little travel packs of such items available in the room for $3 and $4.
Also, the bathroom is a little cramped and awkward, having mostly to do with the way the door opens but it's no big whoop. (Wow, I just went in a slang time machine, back to awkward pre-teen years.)

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
For the price, about $110 a night, you get what you need and can't beat the location (proximity to Stanford). There's a small and clean pool, the rooms are spacious, and there's free wifi, parking, and continental breakfast. The staff is accommodating and friendly, and if you don't rent a car there's a shuttle to take you places nearby.
It may have just "felt" noisy because of the wedding being the night before. Three years later, my head still hurts. :)

Lovedit lovedit lovedit!
My ex and I checked out of the Coronet Motel down the street (see my review) and cut our reservation short...it was THAT bad. Decided to splurge here and it was totally worth it. When we checked in, we were upgraded to the Green room, meaning air purifier, filtered shower and sink water, biodegradable soaps/lotions/shampoos, and recycling bin. I'm kinda of a neurotic recycler/environmentalist, so that made me happy!
LOTS of space, very nice amenities, very comfortable bed and sheets, tv, and bathrobes! Room also includes a mini fridge and microwave, which was really convenient for us since we brought back dinner leftovers. Also, there is a workspace desk so people can actually get work done, and the armchairs were fabulously comfortable. The place was very clean!
They outdo themselves with such a generous and delicious continental breakfast, complete with belgian waffles, cereal, eggs, real orange juice, fresh fruit, English muffins, toast, etc. I don't think I've ever had a continental breakfast this good! Wish I had brought my swim suit too, the pool looked very inviting. They also have cookies and lemonade, and a computer in the lobby for you if you need to get on the Internet. Very practical, cozy, and not over the top or pretentious. Would definitely stay here again if I had the money :(

The Stanford Terrace Inn is on the southeast corner of the Stanford campus and is a shining example of the kind of experience I would like from a hotel. Practical, but not institutional. Elegant, but not hoity-toity. It is cozy and comfy and provides gracious service and special extras that elevate the guest experience.
The rooms are nicely decorated and furnished with plush beds, cozy chairs, and a comfortable work area. The complimentary continental breakfast in the morning rocks. (Make your own waffle! Mmmmm...waffles). Spend the afternoon lounging around the pool, take a quick dip and then recharge with a couple of fresh-baked cookies provided by the staff.
Sure beats the Motel 6 down the street...
