I think this is just one of those things you have to do if you're 1) on a road trip, and 2) a fan of the Eagles.
It's just a silly little spot, but it's pretty cool in the sense that this song has been around for 30+ years and people are still interested in visiting a location mentioned in it.

If all you're looking for is a corner in Windslow, AZ... they have them!
Otherwise the town is pretty dead. I'm glad we stopped. Its important for everyone to get off the highway and support the small towns between the big cities!
Another tourist spot for the music buff!
Road trips can allow you to visit odd places, such as this little park the sleepy town of Winslow, AZ. The park was to commemorate The Eagles hit song "Take it Easy". Though The Eagles were never here, I think the song writer(s) were.
It's more of a cement park with a sidewalk pathway, a statue, painted scenery on the backdrop building, and a red flatbed truck- just like in the song. There's also an actual shiny flatbed truck out on the street as well.
It isn't too hard to find. Its on a main street of town.
"Well, I'm running down the road
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine,
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
Drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy
Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow Arizona
I'm such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
take it easy..."Alright"
Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
my load, got a world of trouble on my mind
lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy,
come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,oo h,ooh, ooh, ooh
Oh well you know we got it easy
We oughta take it easy, yeah"

When we first realized we'd be driving through Winslow, Arizona, we decided to photograph each other "standing on a corner", to commemorate the Eagles' first hit single, "Take It Easy", written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. Then, we discovered that there already is a park at the particular intersection where Jackson Browne stood as he picked his guitar, composing his song. The lady working in the Hallmark Store across the street told us that Browne actually stood on her corner when he was let out of the police car after spending a night in jail.
The Park on 2nd (Historic Route 66) and Kinsley, which draws visitors from all over, features a life-size bronze statue and a mural depicting the story behind the famous song. The park is paved with inscribed bricks purchased by donors, whose funds helped to pay for the building of the park. While the wall behind the statue looks like a typical store front, with upstairs windows and vines climbing up the brick, a closer inspection reveals the "Slowing Down To Take A Look" mural by John Pugh.
Unfortunately, when we arrived we found a chain link fence surrounding the Park due to the recent fire in the building behind, so we took a photo of each of us standin' on different corners at the same intersection.

Everybody should stand on a corner in Winslow Arizona once in their lives!
This restorative effort to bring tourism back to Winslow after the construction of I-40 has brought many people back to the area to enjoy the small town's charm.
It's such a fine sight to see....
