A neat little historic site. Certainly worth bringing the youngsters in to learn about the local past. The little nature trail was a nice addition.
I have been wondering what was down in this park and decided to take the family today. It is quite a historic little site with very friendly and knowledgeable docents who will tell you about the history of the Inn and school and the surrounding area. There is even a ghost that lives in the inn named Pierre. I recommend visiting if you are interested in knowing a little more about your communities history. It appears there are periodic themed events that may make it worth a return trip.
This is a reconstruction of the old inn that actually was destroyed. It was moved out of the way of the freeway, and reconstituted from old photos. They have rotating exhibits in addition to the things that are resident there all year. They have a pony cart that belonged to Joel McCray, who my mom knew when she was a child. Kind of nostalgic for me. It is a fun place to take the kids for a local museum experience.
