5 reviews for Stage 3 Theatre
Stage 3 is a great little theater. As already mentioned, its intimate and the seating is shaped in a U around the stage. They have great productions and reasonable prices.

Wonderful little place. The staff is so friendly and the Sherlock production I saw was great.
Had only planned a day trip to Sonora for an SRT production, but saw Stage 3's poster in the window at Banny's and just had to stay.
The seating is setup in a U with the stage in the center and is open seating, so I got right in the front of the line so I could face straight on instead of sitting on the side. Though you can see & hear pretty well no matter where you sit. There was only once or twice that I wished they had had microphone's on.
It was worth every penny as well as the late hour of getting to bed, as I live in Fresno.
Keep up the great work Stage 3:) I will be back.
Tuolumne County is blessed to have such wonderful live theater. Sierra Rep does great large mainly-musical productions at their two locations, but I prefer the intimate, character-driven dramas that so suit the company and venue known as Stage 3.
The gallery and reception area is very warm and inviting, often with musical accompaniment on the small raised platform stage. The theatre itself could not be more intimate as the seats surround a small stage on three sides. There's only about 80 seats in all, so it is easy to believe the handful of actors are performing solely for you.
I keep going back to the word 'intimate'. The experience of Stage 3 could be summed up in that word. It really is an actor's theatre where real personal connections can be made through the craft. I recommend Stage 3 wholeheartedly.
Tuolumne County is lucky to have live theatre available all through the year. Stage 3 is right in downtown Sonora, just one block from the intersection of Stockton and Washington Streets. Stage 3 is awesome. I have seen a few productions here. My favorite was a few years ago and was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. "The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare - Abridged". If you ever get a chance to see this, it is hilarious.
Season tickets are $75 - what a bargain! Tickets to five productions for about what you'd pay for one concert ticket at an overcrowded venue where you would need binoculars to see the performer! Individual tickets are $15 to $18
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and Sunday has a matinee performance.
The theatre is intimate - 80 seats - so you are assured of a good seat.
