Awesome!
I have been coming to this little place for year and year and I love it. Great breakfast, great sandwiches, great everything. I cant remember ever having anything from Stacky's that I didn't like.
If you haven't ever been to this spot..... make a point to get down there! -

Stumbled upon this little surf shack on a pit stop this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Stacky's seems to have been around for quite some time and while the interior is kitschy like a more genuine-looking Wahoos, the service is quick and friendly, prices are cheap, portions are generous, and our feast of fried seafood goodness was quite satisfying. For $10, I got a heaping serving of fried clam strips and chips (perfect fries, btw) with a (surprisingly) good mixed green salad. The boy opted for their Alaskan cod fish and chips (which I stole some off); tasty although just a tad oily. Not in the mood for seafood? They've got a pretty extensive menu featuring burgers, salads, and other sandwiches, too. This little street in Summerland also looks a lot like if fell out of a portrait of a seaside town on the East coast, making for some nice sight-seeing before heading back on the highway.

I love this place!!!! The first thing that caught me was the mini Stacky car they got out in front which runs on electricity and uses no gas!!! I want me one too. Another good thing about this place is the environment. Nice clean place and reminds you of eating on a boat. Also it's right next to Summerland's beach.
After monkey and I walked on the beach, we were ready for lunch. They had a nice menu out by the front door and I cannot believe it that this eatery place by the beach has some good food selection and the price is sooooo good and unexpected!! I had my eye on the mushroom, onions, pepper burger. Base on experience I'm like for a price to be this cheap in a place like this, it must be like everywhere else, small, flat, cheap looking burger meat so I ordered a double for an extra dollar. But man I was in for a surprised when the waiter came out with my order. Monkey had ordered the tuna sandwich and the waiter was probably thinking okay burger for monkey and tuna for the lady but it was the other way around ha ha ha.
It was a fine burger and I finish every little bits and pieces of it cos it was so good. There was lots of grease and the buns fell apart which is why I gave it four stars but I think for someone who orders a double needs a stronger bun like a chabata or something, but I judge it for the meat. The meat was delicious ;-) Also I like hot sauce so hopefully I'll see more selection of hot sauce there.
Still I'm going back to this place and just writing this review makes me crave for another of their burger again. ;-) -

Great place. We went for a stroll on the beach then popped in here. I had a tuna salad sandwich & my fat cow of a girlfriend had a double sized burger. It was huge.
And she ate the lot.
Great prices too. And the place is very nice, designed like a boat.
The only thing stopping Stackys getting a 5 was the bun on her burger wasn't the best quality but it was still great. -

Stopped here for a mid-afternoon snack on our drive up to SLO. The place is very cute with lots of outdoor seating and beach buoys as decoration.
We ordered the 3 piece fish and chips (cod). It came with coleslaw which was pretty tasty. The fish was well battered and very flavorful. The fries were the best! Thick cut, perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried.
This was the perfect snack stop on a long drive! -

One of my favorite places ever!
My favorite sandwich - the Top O Valencia. It's huge. This sandwich has everything: roast beef, ham, turkey, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese & mayo on sourdough bread. If I order fries with it, I'll go ahead and get half of the sandwich wrapped to go.
The burgers are great. My favorite is the Summerland burger it's topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, Jack cheese & avocado.
I love the fries here and you get a lot.
The menu is extensive. I've been eating here for about 15 years and I haven't even tried half of it. Everything that I've eaten here has been good.
Very relaxed atmosphere. I love the decor, low key nautical. Their outdoor seating is the perfect place for lunch.
They are right off the 101 which makes it easy to stop in when coming from or going to Santa Barbara. -

First time eating here, been past it a dozen times. Usually go to Nugget across the street, decided to try breakfast here. I'm glad I did, the breakfast burrito was enough for two (for me anyway).
I looked over the menu and it all looks & sounds so good I'll have to come back for lunch. The have plenty of sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, soups & chili, breakfast till 11:00a, and let's not forget the fish & chips they seem to be known for. Many things for different tastes to please anyone.
Cool place to sit & chillax while enjoying some good food, good company, and all right close to the beach and amazing views. I love Summerland!!
Since writing the review above I've been back a few more times. Each time trying something different. I can positively report that each menu item I ordered was absolutely delicious.
The jumbo chili dog was mmm mmm mmm good! Now if you knew me you'd know I'm pretty anti seafood, BUT...I tried the fish & chips and OMG they were killer!! Not fishy but crunchy and delicious! I've also had the char-burger which is A+ as are their chicken & chips basket.
That's it so far yelpers. Looking forward to a tastey sandwich or salad :). I'll let you know. -

I like this place. It's like eating at Bikini Bottom. I've had the fish & chips and the fried clams. Both are terrific.

My family set out for "afternoon tea" and ended up eating at Stacky's Seaside, we don't mess around when it comes to food-all or nothing. My parents and my sis in law split three main courses and that was more than enough for the four of us. The fish (cod) and chips had a good balance between batter and fish, the fries were crispy, hot and salty. The portions were more than generous and the stacky's burger special was a lovely balance of beef, avocado, onion, and jack chedder cheese.
We also ordered the calamari and chips, but I thought that the batter was too thick and the ratio to calamari was off.
I think the owner came out to see how we were doing, he was super nice! Waitress who took our order was friendly, competent and provided great service. Loved the old, autographed pictures of movie stars and the fishing paraphernalia that donned the walls and doors. -

Breakfast -
Yummy breakfast burrito, and pretty large. The country potatoes are really more like oval french fries, but they are yummy. And they come inside the breakfast burrito.
The breakfast selection isn't expansive: the breakfast burritos, biscuit things that are like McDonald's breakfast sandwiches (but you can add avocado for $1.09), huevos rancheros and a couple of other things. No eggs benedict and the coffee is pretty weak.
Good price and unique atmosphere. You can sit outside on tables that look like they are probably made out of sail boats. Very casual (styrofoam cups type casual). -

I haven't been to Stacky's since a job I had in Carpinteria, but I went recently after a wonderful afternoon at Summerland beach. Kite flying at the beach is tough work, you know, holding that string and standing there, I had to top up my energy with some fish and chips.
I got the Sam Adams beer battered tilapia - 2 piece - with chips and coleslaw, for about $8. My friends got the quarter pound burgers, with fries and onion rings - their meals came to about $15 total.
The ambiance is like a beach shack, and I love the weathered wood tables and benches outside, the walls decorated with fishing nets and crabbing buoys. The dining crowd was mostly young hip folks. Um, must have been tourists since Summerland is a crotchety old witching community. Ha! Anyway, everyone was friendly and chatty.
My fish was very juicy and tender, very flaky, almost too flaky to dip into the tartar sauce. It was good, but I'll try the other battered tilapia next time. Beach season is only just beginning, patience my little tummy.
We pretty much inhaled our food and then went home in a fried food stupor.
Btw, that little three wheeled car outside, wot? -

Long Beach, CA
I had our drive to wine country mapped out with yelp places pre-determined along the way. This was one I wrote down, and since the 101 fwy had stopped completely we exited for lunch.
Long line made me think WOW this is going to be great. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, but I think it was way over-hyped (not by you Greg T, I had read other reviews too).
Hubby ordered the fish & chips, having read "they really know how to do it right here" he was pretty excited. I had a sammich. That plus 2 beers came to $28. Ok, so I imagined it was really, really going to be good!
The husband got the 2 piece fish plate, I think it was about $9. The fish was the size of 2 fish sticks, (no joke). Those 2 pieces were gone in 60 seconds. It's a good thing I am a giving wife, because I had to give him half my sammy (the pouty puss he was making was killing me).
I had the Loon sammich or something like that. Wheat bread, turkey, ortega chili. It was nice. It was a sammich that was nice. It was not a $8 dollar sammich though. I'm not a cheapo, but I do think what we got and what we paid for it was way misaligned. (Oh, add in the long line and the slightly put off cash register girl). -

I decided to take myself on a little vacation and picked Summerland as my destination. Unfortunately, I didn't think about food. I googled a few places, saw that Stacky's Seaside was literally right down the street so I decided to give it a shot.
I can't say I had the best experience. I was the only customer there and yet the girl at the cash register made me feel like I was a nuisance. I ordered 2 fish tacos at almost $3 each, a Casesar salad with "unreal crab" and a diet coke. This came out to almost $20. Wow. This better be really good food.
I have to admit the fish tacos were pretty good (once I scraped off the tartar sauce) but I was annoyed because I asked for no tartar sauce. When I got back to my inn, I realized the cashier didn't convey my request.
I was really excited to dig into my caesar salad because of the crab. When I saw that it was "UNREAL CRAB", I was thinking "Wow!!! It's going to blow my mind!"....and then I realized with the first bite that it was imitation crab. It was "unreal" alright. What a disappointment.
Another reason why I'm only giving them 2 stars? I had to ask the cashier to please put a lid on my sode after I had already told her this was a to-go order. I also had to look and make sure I had utensils for my salad.
I'm sure I'll be back in Summerland again and I'm also sure that I won't be going back to Stacky's. -

Oh man. My friend told me about this place after reading about it in a California tour book. Who'd think to buy a California tour book when you've lived here all your life? Well it paid off. It's somewhat of a Summerland secret.
Atmosphere: On the main drag in Summerland...cozy. True fish and chips/sandwich seaside shop decor complete with outside corner benches that used to be a boat. It's never been crowded (good or bad?) so there's no wait. Everyone is super Summerland friendly.
Food: They have a suprisingly varied menu for such a small place....All sorts of sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips... You really can't go wrong. I like the tri tip sandwich with salsa.
Bottom Line: If you're driving down the 101, this is a place you should save your appetite and make time to stop at...also support local traditions and business. =) -

I admit to liking the grub at diners. Stacky's Seaside is the epitome of a typical diner. It's location is next to a freeway, the ambiance has a quirky beach bum appeal, and the food is all diner food like burgers, shakes, fries, sandwiches...you name it. I went to Stacky's, because Summerland Winery across the street was still closed. So, my friends and I had about 40 minutes to grab a bite to eat.
There had to have been a gazillion things on the menu, but I wanted a breakfast burrito. There is nothing like a having a nice hearty breakfast burrito that can fill you up and start your morning. I ordered mine with chorizo and paid a few extra quarters to add potato.
After a few minutes, out came a humongous 10 inch breakfast burrito. Holy smokes! I couldn't believe it! It was incredible. What I loved about this breakfast burrito was that it didn't have rice and beans inside. It was not packed full of cheese either. This lovely burrito was all egg, all chorizo, lots of spiciness, and tons of potato slices the size of half dollars and fried like potato chips. It was one hell of a breakfast burrito! Yep, it required tactful eating so the juices from the chorizo doesn't spill or splatter on you.
The next time I'm on my way to Santa Barbara in the early mornings, I'm going to make a pit stop at Stacky's Seaside in Summerland. The breakfast burrito is worth every bite. -

Beer battered fish and chips EXCELLENT, Wifey's veggie burger good enough to the point that I would even consider ordering one AND enjoying it. All the other sandwhiches and burgers coming out looked great also. Drew Barrymore was there ealrier in the day, I guess this town is some kinda celeb hangout if you are in to that sort of thing according to the owner who was pretty cool, great place to stop off of 101 near Santa Barbaba.

Grease! Grease! Grease!
Definitely a greasy fast food place, okay well not fast food but for its greasy-ness...it might match up to a Jack in the Box. Now don't get me wrong, the place has a wide variety of food, from seafood, to burgers to wraps. I got the crab melt, it as okay. It was imitation crab on sourdough. I think I had to pat down the sandwich with a napkin to take off the excess oil. Not bad for the price, a whole sandwich for around 7 bucks.
Then I ordered a side salad...or a side of iceberg lettuce. It had two pieces of try cucumber and that's about it. My grandpa got a fish burger and onion rings, and yes that was greasy too. I'd probably come back maybe once every few months just because I don't want to get my cholesterol up with every visit there. Wish we didn't have to worry about that stuff or else I would come back or often. Hopefully their wraps or other stuff isn't so bad...
(I'd rather go to tinkers down the street...) -

Huh?
This place is truly bizarre. Ambiance is interesting and unique--sort of resembles a shipwreck, with weathered signs, tables, ropes, anchors, and the like. Could easily pass for a run-down tacqueria in Tijuana, or perhaps floating amidst the rubble of the Titanic. I ordered the French Toast and it was WHOLLY unremarkable! (Even the boxed Trader Joe's version is vaguely tastier.) It comes on a styrofoam plate with pathetic plastic utensils. What? Why? Though here one can find an outside napkin dispenser ("Napkins are over there, says the could-pass-for-a-member-of-the-Coast-Guard counterperson.") Throughout the meal I couldn't help but stare at the fancier joint across the street, which seemed to pull a large crowd, while poor little Stacky's was totally empty, save me, some construction workers, and a few sandwich-to-go peeps. Hrm. I do like the character of this place and may be back to try some of the fish items. Who knows. -

Awesome Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips, great and fun eating ambiance in a cool town. Get the lemonade with the 3 piece or add shrimp. Slaw's pretty good, too.

This place was perfect for what I was looking for. I wanted a sandwich quickly while on lunch at work, and I got exactly what I wanted. I ordered the turkey and avocado and it was well worth the $6.95. The sandwich was great and it only took them about two minutes to make. If you are looking for a quick lunch in Summerland, this is the place to go.

I stumbled upon this place while vacationing up north. The food was great! I would call it a burger joint, but there is so much more to it than that. The whole family enjoyed it and we will be back. Its a comfortable, easy going, ocean/beach themed one of a kind place.

Stacky's has good food but its nothing spectacular. The burgers are good (got the beach burger) and are pretty big. But the prices are too high for burgers that aren't gourmet. Its small inside and don't expect to get a seat during lunch time. The reason I didn't give this place 3 stars was because of the mediocre staff. Like the other reviewers they seemed bothered by the customers and weren't flat out rude but weren't accommodating either- Jesus, if you don't like dealing with customers then don't work at a restaurant. Good after a long day at the beach.

I LOVE this place! I came here with my girlfriends for a little day trip. We had a cocktail across the street then thought stacky's looked like the perfect little beachside cafe to grab lunch. i had the fish and chips (cod) with cole slaw and french fries and my girlfriends got a hamburger with onion rings, more fish and chips, and a new york sandwich. we had a little buzz going so we decided to get some white wine to top off the meal. we were all in HEAVEN. I'm not kidding you it was the best fish and chips i've ever had and I've been eating fish and chips religiously since i was a kid. they more moist and juicy with a perfect crispy crust, delicious french fries, great cole slaw, and the wine wasn't bad either considering it was only 3 dollars a glass and served in a plastic cup! this is the perfect spot for a lunch with friends when your in the mood for delicious diner food in a beach shack environment. I can't wait to go back!
