I haven't had the opportunity to stay at the St.Regis but I brunch here often. Obviously if I'm going often, me likey!! The ambiance is beautiful. This hotel has had some recent renovations which has made it worth the pricey brunch. To start, you can have your OJ straight or with wine also known as a Mimosa. The brunch buffet is a free for all! You have a continental style breakfast table with croissants, danishes, fruit and bagels. The next table is for you carnivores, all the bacon, sausage patties and links, ham and turkey you want.

There are two chefs that prepare fresh omelette's while you wait. You also have your choice of grits, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, cold cereals and lots more. I often meet up here with friends whom I haven't seen in a while. The brunch will run you about $24.99 per person. Check Sunday's paper for $10 off coupons.

The wait staff is usually pretty on point, the valet is always a plus and I recommend making reservations for parties larger than 6. Even though it's pricey for a brunch (especially without the coupon) I think it's worth it.

Horrible hotel. It was freezing but they didn't even have the heater turned on. The coffee maker even had a used filter in it.

I forgot to review this after my trip to Detroit last month.

All in all, a really nice hotel, with friendly and attentive staff.  I think the place was recently remodeled - with very classy furniture and decor.  In other words, a nicer place than I am used to.  The bar looked pretty swank, but I didn't make it down, because I wanted to check out other Detroit spots.

The hotel rooms were small, but comfy.  The beds were amazing - like sleeping on a cloud.  There was also an iPod deck, which was great for the impromptu hotel room dance parties.

Reasonably priced for the amenities.  Though the room service menu was incredibly expensive - +$7 for a bowl of cereal?  You can't be serious.  Good location in Detroit, within walking distance of good spots in the Midtown area and the lakefront.

I stayed here last year and this place was way better than I expected.  It had just gone through a renovation and everything was modernized and fairly elegant.  The staff was very friendly and the valet service was quick.  The restaurant there had really good food, bar had great drinks and they even had a piano player serenading the listeners in the bar.  The rooms were very nice and clean, and the beds were good for a solid sleep.  I also really liked the iPod decks they had, which made it convenient to listen to my music in the comfort of my room.
Would definitely recommend for anyone who visits Detroit and wants to be away from all the noise downtown; but still be close enough that they're only a five to ten minute cab ride away from anything in the city.
