I had two French style chairs upholstered after I had refinished the wood frames. One was an antique chair and the other was a good traditional chair made in the 1970's. On both I had updated the chairs by painting the wood frames, one in creamy beige and the other in a beautiful soft grey. I chose my fabrics and discussed the best approach to the seats with Donna, the owner. We decided on springs, foam and fiberfill to create a softly rounded seat and back on the antique French chair. For the other chair we were able to do the seat with foam and fiberfill, no springs. Both chairs look fantastic. The seats are firm and sturdy and beautifully upholstered. The workmanship is flawless. My chairs are showpieces now and I love them. I totally recommend St. Matthews Upholstery. The prices are fair and consistent with other upholstery shops but the best thing is the workmanship is amazing for the price.
