Made my first visit to the Squeeze Inn a few days ago and I am stoked to say it will hopefully be the first of many.

Sure we waited for a good 20-30 mins in line outside but I must say it was worth the wait and what can they say? They're popular and everyone apparently wants to sink their teeth into the famous Squeeze w/ Cheese and a side of fries.

We were lucky to snag a few stools at the bar and it was fun watching the girls behind the counter interact with the guests and with each other. They all seemed to be having a good time and were pros at taking orders and getting guests out the door as quickly as possible.

If you demand "personal space" we don't recommend sitting near the entrance. Even though the girls are polite and sweet about it, food and money exchanges will happen right next to and over you. Also hope you aren't in any sort of a "rush".

One more thing, don't park in front of the tattoo shop directly next door to the Squeeze Inn, the owner? Manager? Came out all fired up, kicking and screaming about having cars towed. Heard the Squeeze is moving across the street any how so, not much longer putting up with that shenanigans.

Already planning my next trip out there.

Everybody knows that this place has the best burgers in town. If I'm not mistaken, that guy from the food network, "Guy", even declared that it's perhaps the best burger in the country.

As a vegetarian, I wouldn't know.

But I will say that their gardenburger, complete with the trademark "skirt of cheese", is absolutely fantastic. Like, seriously amazing.

Of course, it (along with the normal burgers) is probably awful for you, and will bring on indigestion (and probably a heart attack) with repeat visits, but damnit, it is tasty.

Its limited capacity can make it difficult to get an order in, and they could be open later, but I guess that's part of the charm of the place. It always seemed like the "best kept secret" in Sacramento that everybody already knew about. Soon they'll have a new location (thank you, lawsuit), which may or may not have an affect on the ambiance... but hey, at least you know you'll be getting a damn good meal.

if i was on deathrow, a good burger and fries would be the last meal I would request from the warden.  After looking at .jpegs from you fellow yelpers, i thought squeeze inn would be legendary.

truth be told, i would not be a yelper if i was not with my main squeeze.  i would be quite content with a macdo burger...however she has single handily changed me from a $1 double cheeseburger type of guy to a guy who launches quests during obscure weekdays to chow.  going with her, we were greeted by a huge line.  i didn't care tho, for sometimes that is usually the tell tale sign of a good meal.  parking is hard to find because the lot is very small and there are posts everywhere with threatening "will tow" signs.  we ordered the squeeze burger and fries and sat in the back.  the back is kind of a communal cafeteria seating complete with the flies.

the burger was put down in front of me and smelled so good.  the thing that makes this burger different is its cheese skirt.  Eating pieces of it is really good, however, after taking bite of burger, cheese kind of overpowers the burger itself.  The burger itself was rather ordinary.  Fries were good....all in all..an average joint but a must go at least once just to experience the cheese skirt and atmosphere.  It is a real burger joint...the essence of america.

When the Food Network star Guy Fieri was recently on J Leno He was asked- when travailing all over America looking for the best burger which burger joint is your favorite? His response was a place in San Diego and the Squeeze Inn in Sacramento. Now I don't know about this place in San Diego but i can certainly confirm his feeling about the squeeze Inn. Not just the best burger I have ever had but everyone who works there along with the cozy ambiance makes you feel comforted and at home. If you somehow haven't checked out this Sacramento land mark you need to! They are moving locations in a month or 2 so make it fast!
What to get? - Squeeze with cheese! If your feeling adventures make it a double or add a taco!

I have to admit I learned about this place on the Food Network watching that show Dives,Diners and Drive Ins.The place looked good and so did the burgers.

The first time coming or should I say attempt to try the place, well the line was really long.As you drove by you see people walking across the street to get in line.It wasn't worth that long wait at that particular time. So on another occasion we decided to come early in the morning since they open about 10ish. This particular day was on the weekend and we got in line a little before 10.

When arriving at The Squeeze there were a few people already waiting in line. Damn I thought..the place must be good. The parking lot from what I remember wasn't that big, however people starting showing up...and that is when someone opened up the door a little before 10am and we all went in with our hungry tummies.

As soon as you go in you notice that this is not a really huge place. There are a few stool seats and that is about it.You can sit and watch them cook your food too. All the ingredients looked fresh and more than enough items to try on the menu. They have a veggie burger I believe too.

We settled for the Squeeze Burger special(??) with the ton of cheese topped on it. We also got an order of fries, which I may add that you could probably share with someone. The lemonade was good too.

I have to admit the burger was good, perfect and of course cooked well done. The way I like it. Everything on the burger seemed fresh and flavorful. The fries were crispy, yet tasty and worth the price because of the portion size.

Some people may come on an off day,but I have to say when I came it was all on because I tore that burger up.

Worth a try, prices reasonable and I would say come early or perhaps try to order over the phone and pick up.

Oh so very disappointing. I was super excited for the cheese skirt, as well as this 'amazing' burger, after looking up placed that were on DDD i immediately knew i wanted to come to this place, i figured a burger that looked like this was worth a try, i was wrong. I am a huge fan of all things, greasy, melted, meaty and overall heart clogging. When i first got the burger i was ready for one of the best burgers ever, i then took a bite of the thing and it was the worst burger i have ever eaten the only reason i gave it 2 stars was because the service was good and everyone working there was super upbeat.

The Burger

Bun: very nice thick bun that was soft and chewy, stood up to the cheese and grease well.

Cheese: yes the cheese was ok very greasy but good on its own, a bit much for me (i am not a cheese Fanatic, but i do like it.)

Patty: Grease

From the first bite to the last this, burger was very consistent it tasted like nothing but grease, I did not taste anything but some fresh onion bites here and there and what seemed like a grease patty, covered in grease, then topped with more grease and fried with cheese grease. After the meal my throat felt coated in grease, this was by a wide margin the worst burger i have ever had. I could not taste the meat or the veggies (save the onion) the mustard the mayo or anything it tasted like Grease the entire way through.

I tried to like the burger i wanted to like the burger, but even after dousing it in hot sauce all i tasted was a thick layer of grease. I feel like crap, and i have eaten vast amounts fried food in one sitting and never felt as terrible as i do now. I am normally a lover of this kind of place/ and food but i would MUCH MUCH rather go to Willies to get a chilli burger. I will NEVER return to Squeeze in and i am very disappointed in Guy Fieri although i should not have expected much from a guy that owns a place called Tex Wasabi .Please if you dont believe me go ahead try this place, i would recommend health insurance.

The burger here is amazing.  I can't say I've had one anything like it since I've had it.  The cheese spews all over the place and the burger is so filling that when I'd go here for lunches with the guys it's important to stock up on caffeine after, just to stay awake for the rest of the day.

On the other hand, it's not the best place to hang out.  The parking lot is small and the space inside isn't that big.  Plus it gets really packed from time to time.

Other than that, this is a must try place for burgers.

This place is an institution and a treasure; The burgers are simply the best that you will find anywhere and believe what everyone says about the wild cheese "skirt" and size of the burgers. Absolutely AWESOME!  If you luck out and get a place to sit in the cramped area in front of the grill, you can see the interesting way that they make these diet busters.  I understand that they will be moving in January to a larger place around the corner because some greedy opportunist tried to sue them under California's ridiculous ADA laws; I just hope that the new place manages to keep some of the funky ambience that makes the Squeeze so fun.  Yeah the parking can be a pain, and there can be a line out the door at certain times, but its all well worth it for the food and the experience.  The Squeeze Inn is GREAT!!!!

I was looking forward to this place ever since that episode of Diners, Drive-Inns, and Dives.

Arrived around 1pm with little to no line out the door, so I felt we lucked out! I have heard of friends that waited upwards to an hour. Yikes.

Came here last weekend for lunch before watching a show at Arco and of course, we ordered the Squeezeburger with cheese and fries.

We sat out back since there weren't any open seats inside, and the first thing that hit me...the smell of dumpster. Great. That'll make me enjoy my burger. To top it off, there were flies EVERYWHERE. Granted, the dumpster was less than 50 feet away, but...eh...it's a problem.

Our food came to us fairly quickly...probably in 10 minutes and we started eating. I'm not much of a big cheese on burgers eater, so I took out the skirt (I split the burger with my boyfriend, so we had to get the cheese). However, I did like the crispiness of the "skirt" so every so often I would munch on that. But tell me why the crispy parts lasted all but 2 bites?! Disappointed about that.

The patty was dry and wasn't the same size as the bun, so in the end I was left with bun, tomato, and lettuce. Blech.

Fries were OK...nothing to write home about.

I doubt I'd go back, but...maybe to try again when they move to their new location around the corner.

DEFINITELY stay away from the outside seating...Yucky...

For months and months I've wanted to go here, after reading all of these rave reviews and seeing the burgers on the local news.

I LOVE cheese, so my expectations were sky high.

Disappointment didn't set in when it took 5 minutes to get the car parked in the tiny place, took forever just to order, or when we sat out back at the picnic tables and i smelled the scent of the nearby dumpsters.  No, the disappointment came when I took the first bite.

The famous "cheese skirt" is simply cheap shredded cheese you'd use for tacos or something and it was burnt to an inedible crisp.

I tore the skirt off because i got sick of it after a couple of bites, and i figured the burger might be decent without it.  I was wrong.  The burger is just a plain, tasteless, dry patty with the usual fixings and for sauce they glob on the mayo and a bit of mustard.

The fries? Well they were average, very salty, thick restaurant style fries, nothing special but they weren't terrible.  Just kinda make your mouth dry from all of the salt.

For a $6 burger...Not worth going out of your way for.  Small fry and drink adds on another $4 or so.

I am not generally a cheeseburger kind of  girl (yeah yeah...i hear it all the time) Buuuuuut this place may get me to change my anti-dairy ways.

So much F***in cheese. Nothing like a CHEESEburger after a day of skydiving in Lodi.

Plus the waitress was awesome. She brought me free refills even though I ordered a small drink and brought 3 kinds of hot sauce-none of which was tabasco thank god. The waitress made the 35 minute wait for our burgers manageable.

I do think this place could use a bit more space though. I don't normally feel cramped outside...

Let me start out by saying the good things. The burgers can be a little expensive but it's actually really filling! And if you love cheese, u gotta come here. I had a great time talking and eating with my girlies here. But with that being said..

Squeeze Inn is just okay to me. I mean without their signature gigantic cheese skirt.. it's just another burger. The burger patties taste frozen.. the ones you get at the supermarket. Also, their buns are wayyyyyy too thick and need to at least be toasted. Ill have to try one of their others sandwiches, my friend said the Steak Sandwich is really good.

What really anoyyed me most about Squeeze Inn was one of the workers. The guy who is supposed to take our order just gives the worstttttttttt customer service ever. He just wears a "i dont give a fuck about you" look. And I'm sorry but the girl waitress needs to pick up game. She works pretty damn slow. But there was one worker there though that was AWESOME. He asked how we were doing, wiped the counters for us, and always put on a smile. Thankkk you sir.

I've been to Squeeze Inn twice. I love it. I usually go to Mcdonald for burgers.  One friend recommended this place  and I tried.  This place is very small and sits a few people only. But they have a few more tables outside in the back. Parking is a big problem though. It's very very hard to find a space because they are just too busy and they donb't have a a lot of parking space.  I always want to take my kids there but they close on Sunday.

It took a good 30 minutes for my burger to come out but it was well worth the wait. As you can see it comes replete with their famous cheese skirt, which is like a crispy, delicious hor 'dourves to munch on. The burger was great....I would've liked a slightly thicker patty but that's not why you come here, you come for the cheese skirt. The meat was fresh, I'm sure it was seasoned well but there was no way to tell as it was of course overpowered by the cheese. The bun was perfect, I loved the softness and the sesame seeds. The fries were just as fries should be, nothing too special but certainly good. They are cut fresh each morning which is a great thing.

Service is spotty but that's only because they are so extremely busy. They were very friendly and accommodating but they couldn't do too much as they were running non-stop helping everyone. This is not a bad thing, just don't expect to be waited on hand and foot.

I have photos and a more in depth review on my personal blog.

Thanks to all the yelpers I finally got to go (on a weekday) to this establishment. NOTE: Go soon because they are moving locations and it will not be the same :)

The burger is NOTHING without the cheese skirt. The meat is very frozen pattie from ...dare I say: Costco. The experience is great and by the time you wait so long in line you are soooo hungry that their big burger doesn't go to waste! Service was very quick and good!

Large groups -- NOT RECOMMENDED!

So after hearing all the hype from foodnetwork and friends, me and a few friends decided to make the drive from davis to sacramento for this burger. The line was out the door and the wait was about 30-40 minutes. I mean i've waited for food before, but 40 minutes in ADDITION to a 20 minute drive for this burger is a LONG time.

The burger was fine, meat was tender and flavourful... but the cheese skirt is not all it's cracked up to be. First of all it was slightly burnt, and VERY salty ... and it tasted pretty much like a cheese nip cracker or cheez its with extra salt. I probably would have enjoyed it more if it did not spend as much time charring on the grilltop.

The burger might be worth waiting for if the trip didn't take so long, but for me it was just slightly above average. If I lived in sacramento I would probably come here more often and give it a 4.. but for now it's a solid 3.5.

My buddy suggested that we try this place for lunch. Whoa man. I thought I recognized the burgers when I walked in and then saw the pencil sketch of Guy Fieri, so remembered that I had seen the place on Drivers, Drive-In's and Dives. Once you see the bubbling cheese halo around a burger no one would forget seeing that, and the burger delivered.

First off the Squeeze Inn on friutridge in Sac is a 10 stool grill shack, but it does have a back patio with picnic tables. Either way at lunch time be in the mood to share some space.  It is a nice mix of the loyals and the newbies, so don't be shy about making small talk.  I would recommend eating inside for the experience. The staff was friendly and patient with the first time orderer.

I got the Squeeze with Cheese and decided to add Jalapenos (pickled ones) I thought it was a good choice, as it added a bit of kick to the burger. Typically I like to try the standard sandwich before customizing. When the burger came out I have to admit I just dove into the cheese "chip" that was so good. When you get this burger you need to start with the cheese (at least at some part of the sandwich) which will give you access to the burger itself.

Fries were good too, these were thick cut but got a nice fried crispness to them. The burger is really the star though.

I would also say that we got really decent service and struck up a conversation with the manager, who was originally from Rohnert Park so got to talking about the North Bay and told me they opened a Squeeze in Napa. Closer to home, but the Sac local is only 3 blocks from the office. good stuff all around.

Burgers and fries are amazing!!! Such a quirky little place.

Serial handicapped litigators are suing them for bathroom access.  I hope someone throws a stick through thier wheel.  These people who do these things make me want to discriminate against the handicapped.  I know it's a few bad apples, but i hope karma catches up with them.

Omg, I finally made it here after watching it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!!
It was about 20 mins away from where we were staying and it was worth the drive. Since we were in the area, we took the chance to check it out. When we got there, the little Squeeze Inn was this cute Orange Shack, very cute!
We first noticed the line about half a block long. The parking lot is a little small, but we were lucky that someone was pulling out of their spot. They recommend Street Parking if the lot was full, not sure where you would park on the street. Not from Sac Town.

Anyways, we got there, waited for about 40 mins till we got to order. it's total diner feel, counter seats only! But they do have out door patio seating.

Order:
Squeezeburger with cheese, you can even have a double Squeeze!! Now that's a lot of MEAT!!! 1/3 lbs.
Small Fries (enough for two)
Large Root Beer (Free Refills)

We ordered 4 burgers and Fries for only $34, inexpensive and this place ROCKS! The girls who work behind the counters were cute and fun and they really enjoy working there. There's only one guy coking the burgers,
and he's on a roll... melt the cheese, fry the fries...

Tips: bring a wet nap, no need to double cheese, they cheese they give you was enough!!

Adding avacado, and bacon was way too much!

Not the best burger I've ever had, I had to agree, but it's pretty good for a dive! :) smart business!

AMAZING!  Once my boyfriend heard that this place was on DDD, we had to go.  My entire family's a big fan of Squeeze Inn and it's right next to my parent's business so they come here often.

My first time was TODAY with the boyfriend.  He ordered the Squeeze with Cheese and I ordered the Steak Sandwich and added mushrooms.  I wanted to get the Squeeze as well but figured I'd try something different and half it with him.  That was a VERY good decision!  We went around 3pm so it wasn't crazy busy and we had the option to dine in but were forced to take it togo.  STILL. GOOD.  When we got home, we were so eager to dive into our burgers!

The Squeeze with Cheese had came in a huge steamed bun and included a meaty patty, crispy lettuce, tomato, and red onions, mayo, a slice of pickle (THE PERFECT TOUCH) and a skirt of melted cheese.  I thought out loud "no wonder it's a dollar more for cheese, they give you a huge portion!".  All in all, it was delicious, I can't wait to go get my own!  All of this for $5.80, a bit more expensive than In and Out but a totally different experience, which makes it worth it to eat from time to time.

The Steak Sandwich with mushrooms didn't disappoint me either.  I was afraid it wouldn't be as good as the Squeeze with Cheese and it wasn't but that doesn't mean it wasn't delicious!  It also came with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, but no pickle =(  The steak itself was two thin pieces of meat so the mushrooms filled the burger up.  If I had only tried the Steak Sandwich, I probably wouldn't be such a huge fan of Squeeze Inn.  However, I'm still glad I tried it!  The Steak Sandwich was $4.95 and adding mushrooms was an extra 75 cents.  I'd rather take that $5.80 and get a Squeeze with Cheese from now on.

Squeeze Inn was really easy to spot because it's bright orange!  Although it's small, it's a hole in the wall treasure!  There were magazine covers everywhere claiming Squeeze Inn to be the #1 Dive in Sacramento and pictures of a few celebrities that dined there as well.  One bad thing would be parking.  They have signs up warning us not to park at the surrounding business' parking lots because our car would be towed IMMEDIATELY.  That means the only parking for Squeeze Inn is the street.  It wasn't too bad for me since I didn't come at rush hour.

SO.  My recommendation is to come when it's NOT lunch hour, I guess around 3PM when I went, and to order the Squeeze with Cheese!  Thanks DDD and Yelp!

very good! i love their signature over-the-bun crispy cheese! i had to wait 45 min before, just to place an order. it was during a lunch rush and i was in no hurry so i really didn't mind. there's very limited seating. many people order to-go. there's probably 10? indoor bar-styled seats and some outdoor patio seats in back, but i never sat back there before. so once u see a seat, snag it! the burger is def soo much better fresh, compared to taking it to-go and eating it elsewhere. the fries comes in hugeee portions. sodas have free refills with a medium size minimum or something like that. it's a cute little family owned placed that's also known for being in Guy Fieri's Diners Drive-ins and Dives. a great place for a home-made burger.

Forgot all about this place until I ran across it on here. Ate there several years ago and the food was amazing . True to the definition of 'hole-in-the-wall' location and size of building being very tiny. Food is beyond what I hope for. Food is sloppy as it should be for a burger, huge burger patties and oversized without any sacrifice for taste. The most fulfilling burger you may ever have.

A truly good burger and I'm not even a huge fan of cheese.  The ground beef is juicy and surprisingly flavorful.  It lives up to all the raves by the Food Network and PBS.  It's no wonder that it's been there longer than I've been alive.  But, it's much greasier than most other burgers due to the massive cheese skirt.  The fries are just ok; it's the run of the mill thick fries I suspect are of the typical frozen variety.

It's not the best burger I have ever had in my life, but it's up there.  It was well worth the longer time spent at the gym.

A lot of hype for this place.  Food Network specials ect...  Is it worth it?  I don't think so.  I went there with my girlfriend and ordered Cheeseburger, fries and a coke for both of us.

Burger:  Cheese Skirt gets boring after a few bites.  Meat is not that juicy and quote uneventful.  Bun is steamed.  Veggies are okay...  They got my order wrong and forgot my jalapenos.

Fries:  Got mostly heels, little end bits.  Nothing special but not terrible.

Seating:  Smells like garbage in the back.  Gave me a terrible headache.  Cranky people took up a whole table for 6 and didn't share.  Not the restaurants fault!

Accessibility:  Terrible!  Very dangerous!  YOU WILL GET TOWED if you park in the wrong place.

So.  Why did they get 2 stars?  Average is 3 and they are above because of the interesting cheese skirt and friendly service.  However,  they get a minus one because of the garbage smell, the dangerousness of getting towed, and boring meat on the burger.  It is really not worth the time to get slightly above par-burgers in a bad location.

I've heard about this place even before the Food Network buzz.  I've never really had the desire to go until a co-worker won a lunch bet and picked this place.  I thought the burger was way greasy, the cheese skirt was burnt, and the fries were dripping in oil.  Seriously, what's the big deal about the cheese skirt?  It's just low grade cheddar cheese steamed and fried to a crisp on a griddle.  Just like a previous reviewer said, this place is overrated.

I do, however, have to say that I feel bad that some lady is forcing them to move.  If you really wanted to eat here and you're on a wheelchair, I'm sure that a staff would gladly show you a menu, wheel you to their patio, and deliver the food to you.

Great burgers, good fries and CHEESE.  The cheese thing around the burgers is bizarre, but delicious.  The burgers were delicious, nice fresh bun, crispy veggies and a I had mushrooms.  The fries were boring, but they were fries, so big yip.
Advice:
1.  get there early, or call in and pick up at the back
2.  No cheese, no love
3.  Sit at the counter and listen to the staff, it is like a soap opera, including the sorority sweetie.

These burgers are off the hook!

Ventured to Sacramento for the weekend and my friends told us we had to visit Squeeze Inn.  The place is small....and I mean small!  But I like to believe that good things come in small packages.

Waited a bit to order, and for some reason was feeling really really hungry.  I dared to order the Double Squeeze burger.  A glance at the grill and the burgers cooking and I knew I was in for a treat.

Word of warning...don't attempt a Double Squeeze burger unless you haven't eaten for days and won't eat for days after.  This burger was big...too big!  But you know what? I ate it....and loved every bite.  The cheese is just rockin'.  I mean....it's the reason to come here.  I love cheese and I was in heaven.  It's a messy meal, that's for sure.  And the fries really don't really do much but get in the way of your burger.

Everyone needs to have a Squeeze Inn burger at least once in their life....and once might be all you can take!

My brother begged me to take him here after watching itssegment on DDD.  Following the advice of another yelper, we parked at the McDonald's across the street.  DO NOT DO THIS.  When we neared the front of the line, numerous signs posted us NOT to park at a list of establishments, and that they'd be towed immediately.  Not wanting to take the chance, I checked on my car to find a tow truck sitting right in front.  Oh hellllz naw, I ran and pulled my car out in the quickness.

anywho, after waiting in line for about an hour (DO NOT COME AFTER 5PM) we were finally able to place our order.  I ordered 2 squeezeburgers with cheese and large fries.  After waiting so long in this Sacramento summer heat, not only was a hungry and sweaty, but i was growing very cranky....especially when they said they only had sourdough bread left!  I reluctantly complied and waited about another 10 minutes "squeezed" inside the air-conditionless establishment.

The fries are alright.  Most were slightly crispy on the outside and mushy mushy on the inside.  The cheeseburger was a greasy crusty mess.  Yummy pickles, too much onion, and not enough tomato (mines only had enough for 2 bites of tomato).  I pulled the cheese "skirt" to see what the huge commotion is about, only to find that it breaks the bread apart, and that it is extremely salty (maybe from all the other cheese skirts that were melting on it that day).  Cool idea, but I definitely won't be back again.

Service was friendly, parking abysmal.  experience for yourself though!

My mom took me here for lunch today. The wait was crazy, but the burgers are well worth it. I ordered a "Squeeze with cheese." A skirt of melted cheese surrounding a generous portioned meat patty and topped with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and pickle in between a steamed bun. The fries were good too, nice and crispy.

Be prepared to wait an average of 30min-1hour for a burger here. I will definitely come back after I can walk again. Total food coma!

I love dives with great food and this is the best around! Great burgers with loads of cheese (squeeze burger) and an awesome atmosphere to go with it (if you like the dive scene).

I'm reviewing for a place that I've never set foot in.  The bf was coming back from Sac and decided to get me a burger.  During the car ride back, he was talking about how he wanted to swallow the burger whole because it smelled so good.  First thing he said when he walked through the doors, 'You have to eat it!!'  His buddy was saying the same thing-best burger ever.  So I unwrapped the burger and tell me why the cheese was crusty and by this, it was a good crust.  It's not your typical cheese in the burger.  It was like they took a block of cheddar cheese and sliced off a thick piece and melted it right onto the buger and oh my! the buns!! best buns ever!! I enjoyed the burger and those calories that I've been counting- well I kind of forgot about it that night, but the burgers are to die for and I can't wait to get another bite of it =)

This is the definition of a hole in the wall place but the burgers are to die for. You may want to keep a defibrillator handy as this burger is a heart attack waiting to happen.

If you need to find escape from all the greasy burgers and deep fried everythings out there...

THEN...

This place is NOT the place for you. =P

If you want a FINGER LICKIN', oozing with CRISPY cheese, artery clogging burger...

THEN COME ON DOWN! =D

I HAD to come here after I saw them featured on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives. I was waiting forever for Guy Fieri to find a place that was within driving distance. I was jealous that the rest of the country gets these great mom and pop shops! =P

First off, KEEP YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN when you're looking for this place. I swear me and my boy drove by the place five times before we actually found it. It's a TINY red building with a DINKY front parking lot. Luckily, there is more parking in the back. And as expected, there are barely any seats inside. There are maybe ten bar stools, but there is seating outside behind the building.

The wait can go up to 45 minutes if you come during lunch time. But you can order your burger through the phone ahead of time. Sometimes they don't pick up though. They're just too busy! Luckily, me and my boy came when the crowd died down around 2PM.

Of course, we had to dive into their signature hamburger with cheese. There is a RING OF CRISPY CHEESE around the burger. They accomplish this by cooking the burger on the cooktop with this metal dome over it. FABULOUS. I wish I could get a burger like this at home. It was super tasty and HUUUGE. We also tried their steak sandwich which was also AMAZING. And they use rib eye steak. It's a great value for it being only $5. It's also very filling. After all that food on top of a side of fresh REAL potato fries, we were ABSOLUTELY stuffed. *falls over*

This place is definitely worth the SQUEEEZE into the booth here. =) The friendly staff and great food makes you forget how small of a space you're really in. Don't let this place slip through the cracks!

I thought about a 2.  Truly overrated.  My wife and I went there for the first time today.  The wait wasn't too bad, maybe 20-25 minutes before we placed our order and then another 15 before they brought it to us (we had to sit out back).  I was excited for my burger since I was starving, I love a good quality burger, and I'd read so many rave reviews.

The famous cheese skirt tasted pretty much like one would expect burned cheese to taste like.  Not bad but not great.  Unfortunately I think most of my burger's cheese was contained in the skirt because there wasn't much on the patty itself.  I ended up breaking my cheese skirt apart and placing the pieces in my burger.

The burger is exceptionally greasy and dripped continuously throughout the meal, not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of.  My real problem was that the meat just really didn't stand out to me.  Maybe it was the fact that my burger was slathered in far too many condiments.  I was tasting mayo and mustard the whole time.  But even at the end of the burger, when most of the mayo had already dripped out onto my hands and I could finally taste the meat, it just wasn't anything that special.  Carl's Junior has more flavorful meat.

And the fries are clearly sub-par.  They are the same kind of fries that they serve at high schools and middle schools, just cooked a tad bit crispier.  I liked them, but they're worse than average.  And the Squeeze Inn doesn't have milk shakes.  So that leaves them with ... originality?

Then there was the "hour after experience".  The Squeeze with cheese sat in my stomach like a stone.  I felt groggy and worn out for an hour or so afterwards and I felt physically ill even 3 or 4 later.  I actually had to take a few TUMS.

Seriously I can't think of any reason to go her except for the experience.  Its one of Sacramento's little hotspots and they have a pretty interesting gimmick going on with their cheese skirts.  I was glad I tried it.  But really I'm not sure that burger was even in my top 20.  I'm only giving them a 3 because they're unique and my wife liked them better than I did.

Great burgers. The fries were just okay.
I like how the burgers are cooked. I guess they put ice around the patty, put cheese on top and then put the bun on top of all of that to give you a skirt of melted cheese and a steamed bun. The bun tastes great and the whole experience is cool.
It gets jammed inside pretty easily. I sat outside with the flies and the car exhaust and that detracted from the experience. They got swamped when customers started to arrive around 11:20 a.m. and i had problems getting a drink refill. But I'd definitely recommend everyone try it at least once.

Holy Camoly!

The Squeeze Burger w/Cheese was much better than I imagined!  When it came, I first started on the cheese skirt, which was crunchy cheesy nirvana in every bite.  Do NOT come here if you are on some kind of diet, 'cuz this burger is a gut buster (it was a single!!).  The fries were frozen, but cooked to order so they were hot (and greasy! Mmm Mmm!).  Free refills on the drinks, which was definitely called for.  There is no air conditioning, except for the open screen doors and it was hot as H&LL in there yesterday.

No lines, no waits, we got there in between lunch and dinner and we breezed right on up to the bar.  There are picnic tables out back if the small bar gets full, but I understand that there are a lot of flies.

The Inn is hard to see when you are driving by because the neon sign in the window is so small.  The parking lot is not very large, and there are many signs posted warning to not park in the neighboring businesses' parking areas or they will tow your ride.  I recommend heeding these warnings.

So, my advice is to come here, park carefully, forget about heart attacks and indigestion, and live life a little by mowwing one of the best burgers you will ever have!

I finally went on Friday at 1:30pm and there was still a line of 10 ahead of me.  Had to park at the McD down the street, there are signs all over not to park in the neighboring parking lots or you WILL be towed.

Around 10 seats at the counter, wanted it but couldn't wait.  Ate in the back, 4 picnic tables, the pigeons are aggressive.  It was freezing but was worth it.  Food was brought outside to us.  The Squeeze Inn Cheeseburger did have that awesome skirt of fried crunchie cheese around it.  We shared a small fries and it was fine.  With two drinks, two cheese burgers and 1 fries, $25.

Watching the cook prepare them was fun, he would squeeze the oil from the burgers and cheese, was so gross!
That meal was a heart attack ready to happen but so good.
