Springhill Suites is one of the newer lines by Marriott. Generally about the same price (if not slightly cheaper) than their Courtyard line. This Modesto location is the only one I've stayed at so far, but I've been three times, and they keep me consistently happy.

CLEANLINESS
Overall, the hotel is very clean. I believe it's a newer building, but they're doing a good job maintaining it. Everything looks fresh and new, and the rooms even smell nice.

ROOMS
The rooms are pretty hooked up. I love that they are actually seperated by that divider wall, so you have a sleeping area and kind of a living room area with a desk, couch and coffee table. The mini-fridge and microwave are very helpful to my eating budget when I'm traveling, too. Rooms also have both hardline and wireless internet access.  The bed is comfy, too!!

SERVICE
I've always had great service at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have little events in the lobby about once a week (happy hours, wine and cheese events, etc.) It's a nice touch when you're away from home. One day my co-workers and I were working from our rooms, and the front desk staff even helped us out when we found we didn't have the supplies we needed.

OTHER FEATURES AND AMENITIES
While the workout room is small, it is open 24 hours and the equipment is in good condition. There are even individual TVs for each cardio machine. Breakfast is always nice, and there's a pretty good variety. They even provide small boxes, bags if you need to take your food to go. And there is always coffee/tea/water in the lobby.

Overall, this hotel has a lot more than some other more expensive hotels, and definatley for a much better price. I'll definately be back.

I usually stay at Courtyard's by Marriott, but with all the traveling this summer have been experimenting with the other brands that court business travelers.  This Springhill Suites is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at.  The price was comparable to the Courtyard down the road (around $140/night).
The rooms are equipped with a sitting area with power and internet hookups (free), a small wetbar with microwave and mini fridge, and a sitting area.  The TV is in a wierd spot, as its trying to face both the bed and the sofa area, but not a big deal.
I like that the little kitchen was outfitted with paper plates and plastic utensils (at Residence Inn I'm always wondering how clean those dishes really are).
The free breakfast is decent, with healthy and processed options, but most importantly fresh fruit, yogurt and milk.
The service was typical marriott hospitality.
Oh, and the room I stayed in was extremely clean.
Way nicer than I expected for Modesto.

The front desk staff were really helpful. The hotel is very clean, and the price is decent. The free continental breakfast in the morning is better than what I expected.

What an unexpected experience in Modesto. I was very surprised this very well done Marriott brand property exists in Modesto. The hotel is all suite and is very accommodating. The lobby is huge and inviting with plenty of tables and sitting area since they offer breakfast in the morning. There is a small business area with computer and printer as well. They also offer complimentary wifi, which is a great benefit. The suite room is good size, with one side of the room a couch and chair sitting area along with a full desk. The other size of the room features a great king size bed. They bathroom area is split with toilet and bathtub/shower enclosed in a room and the bath vanity outside of that in a small alcove. Decent cable tv stations on the rotating tv was good. A small area called The Market is right next to the front desk and it has all kinds of snacks and drinks that you can buy or charge to your room available 24/7. All in all, a great experience for Modesto. Will stay here when Im back in the area again.
