I stayed here practically every Sunday-Thursday for a year and 7 months while I worked on a project out at the Medical Center.  While the rooms are not as upscale as say, Hotel ZaZa, what made my time worthwhile here was the front desk staff.

Usually I would check in late Sunday night around midnight and Doris would always have my room and key ready for me without question.  When I'd come back from a long day at work, John was always there to greet me and ask how my day had been.  He even recently started baking cookies!  Seriously...warm baked cookies for all the hotel lobby guests.  All of the staff made a point to remember guests' names and everyone was extremely friendly.  Any problem I had with my stay was resolved immediately.

Can't ask much for the rooms, they were standard rooms with a mini fridge and microwave...and when you're traveling for extended periods of time like I was, the fridge and microwave are essential.  Location is right by the Medical Center, within walking distance to Reliant Stadium (which was convenient when the rodeo was in town), and about a 10 min drive to Rice Village.

Like I said, not your ritzy swanky hotel, but wonderful staff for a simple stay in Houston.
