Allright...here we go...

AWESOME food, AWESOME service, HIGH prices!

I've gone to this one in Pflugerville and I recently went to the one near Bee Caves. Both about the same in quality. Very good but like I said, kind of pricey...

It's like $10.99 for 5 small catfish fillets, a few fries, small portion of beans and cole slaw (or substitute those)...I don't think there was anything UNDER 7-8 bucks unless it was a side salad....

A casual...real casual place to eat. The food is pretty good. Chicken Fried Steak is large, Catfish and H pups are good to. But i have to agree with others that its way overpriced to be eating on disposable dinnerware. The wait staff has always been very friendly and attentive. Tina is the best. Ask for her. So as a casual, quick, close place to grab a bite, Springhill works. If your looking for anything more you'll be dissapointed.
I cant see rating anyplace that you have to eat with and on plastic higher than 3 so 3 it gets.

So I moved to P'ville in 2005 and this place was delish. Best burger I had in a while, then tried the Catfish which I also liked alot. Went a few times more and it seemed that the food quality just wasn't there anymore. Or perhaps my palate became more refined after expanding my food mind. This last time I went, I did the To Go thing and called in my order-Cheeseburger all the way, half order of fries and half order of rings. When I got there, it came out to like $17 dollars! I was shocked. I drove off thinking it was just me, but called on my way home to clarify-they charged my rings as an appetizer, not a side, and everything else was just waaay overpriced. ESPECIALLY when I got home and the burger just plain sucked. The rings were good, but no more Springhill for me. Movin' on to Mighty Fine...

I go to Springhill a few times a month for the catfish buffet. I like this place a lot better than Catfish Parlor. They have good catfish here and the sides are better. The waitstaff is great, and super friendly. One of the things that I don't like about this place is the macaroni and cheese. Its a little too watery for me, I like a thicker cheese sauce.

Went here for the first time today for their lunch buffet at the suggestion of the 'rents when we asked if they wanted to go to Catfish Parlour.  We were a little skeptical, but decided to give it a go anyway.  Holy cow!  They have great catfish!  I did miss that special kick the jalapeno catfish, but I think theirs overall was better - less greasy, and crispier (which is amazing on a buffet).  I was actually shocked because I had prepped myself for some really awful food, especially after seeing the place outside.

The mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious, the veggies and the salad bar provides a great contrast to cut the grease of the fried stuff and buttery taters, and as is always a question on buffet food, it didn't make me sick at all.  However, not everything was great.  The chicken strips were "meh", the fries weren't that great (they tasted like they'd been sitting there for a while), the coleslaw apparently was "just slightly above kfc quality", and if I would have paid for it, I think I might have been a little shellshocked.

Definitely of note - I hate, hate, hate okra.  Never met an okra that I didn't hate.  I grabbed some fried okra which I thought was fried zuchinni, and then started going on about how it was pretty yummy.  The family looked at me crazy and then told me what it was.  Crazy!  Also - I am not a big fan of hushpuppies, and these were actually something special.

Definitely go, but see if you can get someone to pick up the tab. :)

I have been here a few times for lunch because it's close to work.  So this review is an amalgam of those lunch trips.  Considerably overpriced is the first phrase that comes to mind.  For the most part you are just getting a basket of fried things (catfish, hush puppies, fries), it shouldn't cost that much.  I do not like their chicken fried steak.  They have a buffet, but I have not tried it.  I did notice (based on co-workers that tried it) that they take a long time to restock items.

One final problem:  Everything they serve is disposable.  Plates, cups, knives, forks all go straight to the trash.  It is such a waste.  I will not go here again.

Went on a Friday night after the my son's H.S. soccer game. One of the mom's recommended this place. I had no idea what kind of restaurant this was. As soon as I walked in I could tell this was a VERY casual place. MY KIND OF PLACE! We went went with 3 other families with 6 High Schoolers. They had a room for bigger parties so we sat there. Waitress very nice. Took our SEPARATE orders (some places only like to make one ticket for several families). Waitress very patient. She took my wife and my order and then took our son's order who was sitting at another table. All of the kids sat at a different table than with the adult table so the waitress was bouncing back and forth.
I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Excellent. Great breading, tender, gravy was just right. The fries were very good, nothing special but good. A salad came with the dinner. It could have been a meal by itself.
My wife had the catfish and she said it was very good. Son (very picky)had a burger and he said he would like to have that again sometime.
Meal was served on plastic plates with plastic utensil's. I had no problem with that. Like I said, this place was very casual.
We'll go back.

First off, service is wow...spectacular.  Not only did we have a group of 20, we were all fed in under an hour.  That is some crazy good service.  Also, the waitress totally let me tape a remote-controlled fart machine under my coworker's chair (his going-away party) and assisted us with the gag.  Bravissimo!

The gag was pulled off without a hitch, our bellies were ridiculously full, but yea..my tab was higher than expected.  For a "small" seafood platter of catfish nuggets and shrimp (substituted oysters) plus an iced tea?  I came out paying $15.  Yoww..

All in all...man everything is fried (but freakin tasty), the portions are ginormous, service great, ambiance cute/rustic, but it's in pfreaking pflugerville.  I may try the Airport location if I feel an inkling for fried cat soon..

Would go back, just different location.

You want the good news or the bad news?  The good news is the Catfish is really good, the service is excellent, and even on crowded nights the wait isn't long.

The bad news is that the prices are a bit high, even if the fried cat is some of the best in town.

Not long ago, the prices were lower and I used to frequently head to Springhill for some catfish and col' beer.  However, a recent menu adjustment has taken the $8 catfish platter (enough to fill the hungriest of hungry men), reduced the portion size by a piece or two, and raised the price by 2 or 3 dollars.

If you don't mind paying a little more, then I recommend Springhill.  It's a great family dining spot.  There are all kinds of nick-nacks on the walls to present a fun and cozy atmosphere.  Also, the waitstaff seems to pay extra attention to children, instead of acting like the youngest among us are an annoyance of the job.

Ok place to go. Never have i seen a place that the food is so expensive, yet i have to use plastic forks, knives and cups. DON'T GET ME WRONG! The food here is good, if you like everything fried... I think they even may fry the salads(not really.) The one thing that i do like is that the waitstaff is friendly. Although in saying that a waitress one time spilled a whole cup of water on top of my then one yr old son.  Was I mad? No not really It still makes me laugh today, because of his reaction to that.  Now what kind of ticked me off was the reaction of the manager that didn't even go to apologize or comp us :) , but what do you do.

My high school experiance can be summed up with one resturaunt. Springhill. I was either chilling and watching friends be hostesses and eating fries, or I was tipping big as my friends became waiters or bartenders and eating chicken strips, or I was attending banquets and eating..hmmm....something else? Hush puppies? Sometimes I miss the old days when  a trip to Springhill would mean some damn good food at a discounted price and some good ol gossip about the waiters and waitresses. Its a family joint and has some serious good stuff to eat. Nuff said.
