This is where the 2,000+ journey begins. Georgia to Maine baby!!!
After many years of wishing and hoping to see at least one of the trailheads, I got to check out the Southern Terminus. There is a really nice shelter just a few miles past the terminus.
My friends and I were hit with bad weather, and the first five miles of the trail were deceivingly easy. That's why it only gets 4 stars because it gives the thru-hikers a false sense of what is to come. I have done other parts of the trail and have wanted to just die from the difficulty.
