I may be a little Biased because I am employed by the Park District, but this place is absolutely perfect for young children (2-6). It is a nice place to cool off in the summer, and it is a lot easier to watch your children than the larger Park District pools in the area. The staff are very nice as far as I can tell, and all are highly trained. Also the Park Next door if you do not want to go in the water!

This is a great place to bring my small children, especially with their twilight hours - $1 entrance during the last two hours of the day.  They can run around, get soaking wet, and I can talk with my friends.  Great way to beat the heat in the summer!  I do find the $3 pp entrance fee too steep during the day with three kids and an adult.

Run by the Buffalo Grove Park District, this splash pad opened in June '07. (Splash pads don't have standing water; but instead spraying and shooting water).

It features over 20 water toys, sprays, mists and geysers.  Great place to cool off esp. for kids that don't yet know how to swim.  Thus, it's geared for kids aged 2-6. The kids I saw had a blast running around, playing with the shovels and pails, and the interactive water table. (Note: the surface is concrete.  Good idea to wear swim shoes, or Crocs).

There is a shaded picnic area.  You can bring your own lunch or buy snacks there.  When kids are tired of playing in water, they can run around in the adjacent playground, in Busch Grove Community Park.

    For kids and adults, it's $3 admission (12 mos. & under = free).  Open June 1 - Sept. 1.

I took my nephew last  year( he was 2).We had a good time, he still remembers it and is looking forward to going there.

They have a huge playset at the Bush parkway.A very nice picnic area, you can bring in your own food and enjoy. Staff are very cheery, well mannered and kind. I over heard a staff ( a guy) was so kind to a little girl who wandered into the office and was scared!

As much as my nephew is, I too am looking forward to going here this year.

A Buffalo Grove PK Dist. facility, SNP is basically a big playground full of water toys and sprayers.  I took my son here for two birthday parties this summer.  They don't have swimming pools, but a plethora of various types of misters.  Its not a great idea if the kids don't like water, as there is no alternative for them.  There are two areas for birthday parties, something they seem to cater to.

A big playground is outside the park, but if you have multiple kids to watch, its not really an option.  A great place on a hot day for kids that love to play in the water.  Especially good for a group.  The large enclosed area makes it easy to watch kids for hours on end.
