Sprague-Porter Co
4 reviews for Sprague-Porter Co
I service my 1950 Studebaker Champion and our 2003 Nissan at Porter Sprague. The shop is one of very few in Sacramento that will touch a classic car. Jim's team members are always courteous and I trust them implicitly - both in terms of price and expertise.
Tell them that the guy with the Studebaker Champ sent you. And "no," I don't get kick-backs for referrals. ;-)

Once again the guys at Sprague-Porter do not fail.
I had my 2000 Ford Explorer that has had a non-functioning heater core for about the last year and a half. I finally took it in and the guys at the shop had it done on time, for less than the estimate and even threw in an oil and filter change for me as well as replaced a few bulbs that were burnt out.
KUDO's to Jim and his crew.

There is a reason this shop has been around since the 1910's and it shows! Jim and their entire… Read more »
I love Porter Sprague. I am never disappointed when I take my 2000 Mustang there - the same cannot be said about a certain downtown dealership. The staff are professional, observant and don't keep your car longer than necessary. I can't say enough good things about this shop.
After an unfortunate break in, I took my car to this place for a repair estimate based on a recommendation. From the moment I arrived Jim was extremely rude. I had a lot of questions and it was clear he didn't have the time or patience to answer any of them. He barely looked at my car before creating a very pricey estimate that he refused to go over with me. When I inquired about how long it would take parts to arrive he was clearly agitated that he'd have to call the dealer and find out. While on hold with the dealer he proceeded to complain about how another customer in the waiting room smelled. Whether the guy smelled or not I didn't notice, but I certainly felt it was unprofessional of him to say anything about it. After getting an answer from the dealer, Jim rushed me out and still hadn't answered all of my questions. I tried calling later hoping he'd be less hurried and got the same abrupt attitude. I didn't have my car repaired here and I won't be going back. There are plenty of auto body shops that act like they actually want your business to bother with this.
