This place fulfills all of my athletic needs!
I was seriously coming in here every week for over a month and realized that my obsession needed to stop.
The prices here are really amazing. I used to be an avid Zappos shopper because of their low prices on footware, and that they had free delivery. I purchased a pair of Pro Grid Saucony at Zappos for $145. They sold the exact same pair at Sports Basement for $119. I learned my lesson. I just bought a pair of Brooks Ariel for $115, which they sell at Zappos for #130.
Anyhoo, the people there are friendly and they know their stuff. I just went to the Sports Authority really quickly today during lunch because it was close. I asked the worker if they had any arm warmers available. First she didn't know what I was talking about, then she laughed and said no. I realized that I should've driven the 8 miles during my lunch time to come here.
They have a great selection of clothes, gear and sports food stuff.
Great stuff....GREAT STAFF......great price!
I have been going here since they opened. The best advice I got here was when they did a running analysis for me. It was great because I found out I was wearing 1/2 a size to small & the new shoes I bought are the most comfortable I have ever worn.
I highly recommend doing this if you have the time.
I always enjoy adding new additions to my workout clothes.
Thanks Sports Basement!
This is a great place to get sporting goods! The staff is friendly and really courteous.
Tons of stuff and pretty good deals too. Sometimes it's a little hard to find stuff, but that's part of the fun, I think. I really like their selection of camping, snow, and cycling gear. I think if you're a runner you'd really like this store. I pretend to run on the treadmill so I don't need the fancy little shorts they have at the store.
If you refuse a shopping bag when checking out, you can enter yourself into a shopping party! 20% off for a two hour time period where you can invite as many people as you want. I went here recently for a friends' shopping party - lots of cheap food from Costco, including Kirkland Beer.
All in all, a great sporting good store.
Visited for a shopping party today. As someone else mentioned, if you refuse a plastic bag on checkout you can enter a raffle to win a 2 hour party. They provide food and beer and all your friends get 20% off on all goods.
This store is a great example of what retail should aspire to. They also offer very competitive prices on a daily basis on most items. The only exceptions to that, in my opinion, are: bikes and skis/snowboards. I'm partially biased about the snowboards/skis though because unless it's at least 40% off, I don't think it's even remotely a good deal. (But such is the nature of the ski industry... massive discounts during late or off-season)
The only minus is that they don't carry too many different brands for each department of the store.
i went here shopping for a bike. I was here for one of those purchase parties so the 20% off made my decision easy. the guys there are knowledgeable.
however, the bike shop guys there may know their shit, but they def. act like they know their shit too. not very friendly for newbies and sort of makes you feel dumb for asking "noob" questions.
Sports Basement has a huge selection and, for what I'm looking for, better prices than some other sports stores I've gone to. I much appreciate the sports bra wall and the less-than-$15 crate of sales clothes.
Also, the most Timbuk2 bags I've seen in one place that wasn't http://Timbuk2.com. Cheaper than retail, too!
Love it! By its name, Sports Basement conjures up a grungy image of a warehouse with sporting goods. Untrue. It is one of the cleanest athletic goods stores ever!
I came here with my friend a while back. She needed a new water bottle; I needed to exchange my Sigg. Even though I didn't purchase my Sigg from here, they were more than happy to let me exchange mine for any of theirs on display (that were the same size, of course). The selection isn't huge, but it's not shabby either. I was just grateful I didn't have to go through snail mail and all that jazz.
We browsed the store for our own pleasure and it was great. There were even snacks in the store. I'm not sure if they were meant for the sampling, but they were just looking so neglected and untouched.
Prices seem fairly good and the atmosphere inside SB is just very comfortable compared to other sports stores. Will come back in the future for sporting goods.
I am having them 4 stars for good value for money. If you have AAA card, you get an extra an 10% discount.
How the hell have I missed this place all these years?? I pass by on Lawrence Expressway all the time, yet I have never noticed Sports Basement until today. All it took was a glimpse of the large Cycling icon on the side of the building to make me u-turn to check the place out.
This place reminds me of Tri-City (R.I.P.). A huge warehouse full of STUFF. It's a sensory overload when you walk in for the first time. This place is just full of everything a sports enthusiast could want.
I found the prices to be a little bit cheaper or on par with with REI in most cases, but the great thing about this place is the selection of goodies. Chock full of brand names you recognize, and a smorgasbord of rare and hard to find stuff.
I was impressed they had a legit cycling section, complete with a repair team and road/MTB apparel. They carry some nice bikes if you like Felt. I only wish the men's cycling clothing was as large as the women's.
There's also a ton of nutritional supplements, bars, and drinks.
I couldn't stay long for my first visit, but this place definitely deserves a second pass.
You HAVE to check this place out if you are looking for sports-related stuff!
This place is kind of like the mutant child of Big 5, REI, and Ross. There are bikes, kettle bells, kickboards, Muscle Milk, and weightlifting gloves with hot pink trim.
My friend won a contest here and got to invite 200 friends in for some beers and a 20% discount on everything in the store. Brilliant--it's not like they're taking a huge hit on a 20% discount, and they've made 200 new customers. Anyway, that's how I ended up here, lured by the discount on the already-discounted items.
The staff are friendly, and most of them are drop-dead-sexy as a bonus! There's stuff for hardcore fitness enthusiasts (like weighted vests for my friend who apparently does chin-ups with them?) and for the not-so-fit (ooh, shiny new water bottles!) I fall somewhere in between the two extremes on most days and had to talk myself out of many purchases. Couldn't compromise on the pink-trimmed gloves though. Come on--given the choice between palms that look like hamburger meat and dorky weightlifting gloves, I think most of us would pick the dorky gloves...and if you're gonna go dorky, why not go all out? Thought so. I'll be back here soon for the ridiculously discounted running shoes, and maybe the cute staff too.
OMG. I am so happy to have found this place. I recently moved back to the Bay Area and thought I either had to drudge through Sports Authority or Big 5 to find things (more like not find anything useful). I definitely like what REI has to offer, but most of the time their prices make me hesitant.
A friend recommended me to try Sports Basement and it was exactly what I was looking for. Big brand names without the big prices. I managed to find a lot of things at prices I saw from other online retailers. They have everything you might be interested in such as camping gear, outdoor apparel, snow sport gear, cycling, running, general fitness, and more. I only intended on stopping by to check out the store for maybe 10-15 minutes but ended up wandering around for an hour and buying a bunch of stuff.
I definitely recommend checking out this store if you're into anything athletic or outdoorsy.
I don't even remember how I learned about Sports Basement, but I am definitely a fan.
When I was looking to buy a bike I checked out their selection and one of the bike guys spent a lot--and I do mean a lot--of time helping me. I'm a complete newbie, so it was very cool that he did that. I test rode a couple of bikes, but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock at that time that fit my frame. He absolutely would not sell me a bike that I didn't have enough clearance on, and I completely respect him for that--and I'm sure my delicate bits thank him for that. Still I bought a bunch of accessories there.
Anyway, my bike shopping experience kind of sums up my history with S.B. They may not have everything you are looking for when you want it, but they will be incredibly helpful in trying to help you find what you need. If they do have what you want, it will probably be at an amazing, bargain price. Regardless, I doubt you will leave empty handed. They have an awesome clearance section (great for past-season ski clothes) as well as a ton of departments (tri-wear, running, swimming, basic men's and women's athletic and casual wear, shoes, snack bars, and energy drinks, etc.).
My favorite department is the shoe section, where I've found great deals on Merrells and Simple shoes. And the staff are happy to call their other Bay Area locations to hunt down sizes if they happen to be out and then have them transferred.
I guarantee that if you shop at S.B. once, you'll be hooked for life. The customer service alone makes it a worthwhile stop.
I bought my bike 4 months ago and it's still okay. A week ago I went to buy new brakes and the serices was awesome. great people, great sport spot! :)
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, its one of my favorites. I can't go in without buying something. They have everything to meet your sporting/outdoor needs. I love their low prices. You can score some really good deals on North Face stuff. I have gotten my last couple of sports bras there too since they provide a really helpful guide. I've also gotten some running shoes there before and they were very reasonably priced. Its a great place!
Sports Basement is like Nordstrom. They have extensive selection of merchandise. Yes, certain item comes with a high price. However, if you're patient, eventually they will go on sale... they even end up cheaper than other sport shops. Furthermore, they have amazing crew that gives the best customer service ever. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable.
I get completely lost every time I visit SB. I try to limit my time here but I can't help but to be allure by their outdoor decoration/theme. They would have campsite set up inside the store, as well as a children's corner for your little ones to play and explore.
But.. what I like most about SB are their free classes that they offer to the community: Spin, CPR and AED, Core, and others promotional classes throughout the month.
I recently signed up for the CPR and AED course through Yelp Events. My instructor, Richard, was incredible. He made the course enjoyable. He was constantly interacting with the group and also allowed plenty of time for hands-on experience. After three hours, one simple exam, and gasping for air from delivering way too many rescue breaths, I'm now ASHI CPR and AED certified for two years. And yes, it was free.
*licks her lips* Who's ready for some rescue breaths?! ;D
I lost one of my screws... har har... on my road bike shoe cleat so I went to the bike shop in the Sports Basement and they looked through their spare parts and gave me another one right away! Very helpful and not pretentious at all, like some bike shops can be.
I feel like this particular store is organized in a manner that I understand. I always find what I'm looking for. Other Sports Basements maybe are just too big or organized by someone who thinks on a different frequency than I do and I can never find WTF I want. This is particularly stressful when you go to one of those SB Happy Hour 20% off things and I'm trying so hard to remember and find all the things I've been meaning to get for the discount.
Love the potted plants in the bathtub and vintage appliances out front. But I hate the line of high-end baby strollers RIGHT at the entrance. It's like screaming at me, "HELLO, lady!! I am mega sports store but I'm gonna put all my baby stuff right in yo face! You look like a runner - here is our fancy running baby stroller! You look like a hiker - here is a hiking backpack to carry your baby!" Seriously, baby stuff all over right at the door. Just seems like odd placement in a sports store. SB must not have gotten the memo that I don't believe in love.
I LOVE this sports store! They have EVERYTHING and I feel like they give you a good price. Everytime I go here, I end up spending a lot because I'm getting such good deals - for name brands - and they will likely have anything that you are looking for.
It's a huge sports store and they even have a bike section. I brought a bike there once because the tires were flat. The nice man working at the bike section changed out my tubes without me having to wait! There wasn't even a charge to change them out, only had to pay for the tubes ($2 each!). Then he gave me great advise on how to adjust the seat to the right position and so on!
Bought camping gear here - their tent displays are so much fun. They have really cute backpacks for girls -- either for backpacking or for traveling.
Everyone is really helpful. THEY GET 5 STARS!!
Great place , good serv.
One of my bank account's worst enemies, Sports Basement. I could literally spend 2-3 hours browsing through the different departments. To be honest, the only time I go shopping here is when I get those 20% off everything coupons from running events or go to Sports Basement parties that one of my friends gets once in awhile where you get free pizza, beer, and other snacks with 20% off everything.
However, I'm somewhat reluctant to buy running shoes here unless they specifically carry the brand/style that I'm currently wearing at the time at a discounted price. I rather buy from a pure running shoe store. Also I get most of my North Face running/winter clothes here too because it's so expensive at REI. I got my NF Denali jacket for $110 when retail price, it's about $170. Since they ran out of my size at this location, they were willing to ship the jacket in my size from the San Francisco store for free. So if you are a North Face fan, shop here! They have a good selection of Timbuk2 messenger bags too.
Like Nam says...this place is GINORMOUS!!!! A bit overwhelming when you just walk in and have never been here before.
My husband and I are in need of camping gear for our trip in July so we stopped in here after seeing all of the positive Yelp reviews from friends. We just left REI and came here to check out prices.
This store has a huge selection and you are bound to find what you need here. Everything from cycling to snorkeling and scuba to camping, yoga and swimming.
I am sure you can find some great deals here but I didn't feel like their prices were better then REI. In fact the identical sleeping bag I bought at REI on Saturday was $40 more here.
They do have a great sock section and I did find that their women's apparel is much more affordable then REI so I probably will be back to pick up Yoga and walking attire next time I am here.
A great store...definitely check it out!
I really liked the variety and the prices. This is the perfect place to shop if you play sports, fitness is your career, or just plain like workout attire, and accessories.
I've been to the other Sports Basement locations in SF before, but now that I've been here, I think I like it better since it's easier to get to. SF is just madness!
Took a CPR class here -- not theirs -- and it was very informative and now I am certified to save your life :) I'm sure their classes are just as good and I believe they are offered twice a month.
I am now also the proud owner of a shiny black Klean Kanteen! Even though I already have a BPA-free Nalgene, I just wanted a cool stainless steel bottle. It's $2 cheaper than the Klean Kanteen website price. Buy a resuable water bottle, go green, and save the Earth!
I love this place. My AMEX, however, does not. If I find myself in need of sporting goods or apparel, this is where I start. The Sports Basement is probably 50,000 square feet (it was the old Sunnyvale Fry's location), packed with all manner of sporting gear. It is very easy to spend a few hours just browsing. It's amazing all the things you didn't realize you absolutely needed until you wander around the Sports Basement for a little while.
In the past, I have purchased various North Face clothing, shoes/socks/insoles, Timbuk2 bags, specialty sports drinks and cycling gear. All of it at least 15% less than other stores. Granted, most of the items are closeout, clearance and models from the previous year and selection may not be as good as an REI, but so what? They carry only quality, brand name gear at cheap prices. That's what matters.
Customer service is excellent, but not overbearing. No one is going to bug you unless it is obvious you are in need of assistance or you ask for it. Then, they are as helpful as can be.
They even have spin classes here, which I have yet to try out.
Sports Basement is so much better than other sporting goods stores, it's almost funny. I love sporting goods, but most of the big box stores out there are hard to take.
We were looking for ski bibs for our young sons a couple weeks back and started calling around. Since winter is almost over, it was getting tough to find the three sizes we were looking for all in one place and at an affordable price. Enter Tiffany at Sports Basement, who not only tolerated 3 or 4 different rambling calls from me (each time slightly modifying my request), checked their inventory from neighboring stores, called me back promptly and had the three bibs I needed within a day. She was also extremely articulate on the phone and was working the register when I came in to pick up the bibs.
As my wife said: "Wow, that's the kind of service I expect from a small mom-and-pop store." Good stuff.
Oh, and the bibs we bought are pretty high quality, quite warm and were $30 each. Not bad.
Dayyyyyaammmmm Gina! This place is ginormous! I stumbled here during my quest to find a new snowboard jacket. This pace is absolutely amazing. Camping, biking, swimming, running, snowboarding, whatever you do during your recreational time Sport Basement probably has whatever you are looking for.
For the snow junkies: They've got tons of name brand snowboarding/skiing related products in stock with great sales prices. Even at non-sales price they are priced to sell. You can also pick up lift tickets from Alpine Meadows, Bear Valley, Diamond Peak, Sugar Bowl, Kirkwood, and Squaw.
The store very well organized, well lite, and clean. I also love there hand written signs. So old school, and kind of unique especially these days. Customer service is great. I was asked if I need helped every time I walked past an employee.
Good stuff to know: You get a 10% discount if you show them your Costco, AAA, or 24 Fitness membership card.
I am a novice runner and came here looking for my first pair of "real" running shoes. The punchline: I bought my shoes elsewhere.
What happened:
I walked straight up to the shoes department and asked the guy for recommendations on running shoes. He did the walk test, which I turned out to be neutral (also with a normal arch), but somehow after trying on a couple pair of shoes, he said I needed high stability shoes, and am just one notch down from needing motion control shoes. When I tried the high stability shoes, it felt a bit awkward for me. But since he took the time to help me, and I thought he should know what he's talking about, I was willing to buy the shoes. Thankfully, they didn't have the shoes in my size at that time, so they had to get a store transfer from their other store.
They called me (twice, without knowing) when the shoes came in and I went back to the store. I went straight up to the same guy to pick up my shoes, and suddenly he was too cool to patiently help me because he was talking to a coworker buddy, and told me to just go pick them up at the counter. I told him I wanted to try it on and have him look at it to make sure it's the right shoes for me. He said, "yea, just go pick it up at the counter." After I picked the shoes up I walk back to the shoe department and couldn't find help for about 10 minutes. The counter even announced over the PA that a customer will be heading over for help. The guy that was helping me before was now busy talking to some other guy about his weekend surf adventure, and even though he knew I was there with my shoes on waiting for him, he didn't come over. I got distracted chatting with another customer who was there to just try on shoes before buying it elsewhere (her reason was because they're more expensive at the Basement), but by the time we finished chatting, 20 minutes had gone by, and now the shoe department was not manned by anyone. At this point, I took the shoes off, put them in their boxes, and left.
Funny thing is, 2 hours after I left the store, I received another call telling me that my shoes had come in, and is ready for pick up. How confused are they? Anyway, won't be going back there again for running shoes! And probably for anything else.
And by the way, with much more sophisticated analysis on what kind of shoes I need elsewhere, I needed neutral shoes afterall.
Really helpful staff in the snow department and excellent prices. It's one of those old school sports shops with knowledgable staff and a good mash up of things to buy!
I have bought two complete snowboard set ups here and left happy. Prices are lower then other places, and they have a good selection of snowboards, boots and bindings. Plus they belt waxed my board for free and gave me a pretty usable chunk of wax for me to use later in the season. Definetly staffed by people who love to work there, plus they sell burning man tickets =)
As for their summer equipment, the prices are very reasonable and the selection is also huge. I also love the free classes and the 10% discount on ALL ITEMS if you are a costco member.
They also have a giant selection of water bottles which I love, all of them are BPA free too!
First time to Sports Basement in Sunnyvale. Friend Linda W. invited me to her Sports Basement party. A SB party consists of inviting everyone you know to have FREE snack food from Costco (candy, chocolate chip cookies, brownie bites, cheese & crackers) & drinks (wine, beer, sodas, juice) & 20% off to shop. It's a Great marketing tool.
I can't pass up FREE food & 20% off so I had to go. Since we were early we decided to shop first. This shop used to be a Fry's, the current Fry's is close to this store.
Hubby got:
North Face hiking pants $48 reg. price. 20% off = $38.40
North Face rain hat $20 reg price (x2) = $16
Men's Light Hiking socks $11 reg price 20% off = $8.80
Total $79.20 + 6.53 (Santa Clara Co Penalty) = $85.73 credit cards taken.
He thought of getting North Face rain pants $56
Petzl Tikkina 18 lumens $22
Petzl Tikka Plus 35 lumens $33 (a bit cheaper than REI)
Petzl Zipka Plus 35 lumens $36-37
Petzl Tikka 26 lumens $26
Columbia Granite Tors Shell jacket $65
There's a bike shop area, some camping stuff, etc.
Cool:
They offer FREE CPR & AED courses 2 classes per month 2nd & 4th Mon 10 slots only, first come, first serve from 5-7pm. Contact Raffinee Eller at the store.
They had FREE Edible SF magazines (reg subscription $28/yr) in the front where they have community events/races stuff - bottom left shelf.
Separate bathrooms to the Left of the store in a corner, close to kids stuff.
Tip: Enter to win your own SB party by bringing in your own bag or not taking a bag - get a raffle ticket!
Now this is what I'm talking about.....ginormous, huge selection, great sales, and well organized/clean store. And just like the other Sports Basement, you get an extra 10% off your purchase when you show them your Costco, AAA, or 24 Hour Fitness membership cards.
Picked up some North Face gear for the bf and it was such a great deal! Unfortunately they ran out of my size boots for the snowboard rentals but hey--I came by on a Friday afternoon of a long weekend. So really, that was my bad.
This particular store is a tad smaller than the SF Marina location but still quite fab. for my sporty needs.
I visited Sports Basement last weekend after a long absence, so I thought I'd refresh my review. Things change, and impressions change.
If I could give this place 3 1/2 stars, I would. Three says so-so to me, but four indicates something memorable. I like the quantity and variety of products in Sports Basement. I'm not crazy about the prices. For example, I go to a higher end gym, and the workout wear was cheaper in our pro shop than at Sports Basement. That's not a good sign. Moreover, Sports Basement has eliminated its clearance section.
One thing that definitely has remained constant is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. That means a lot to me.
Another thing that impressed me was the availability of running lanes for trying out shoes. This lets customers test how the shoes will behave in use.
I think the prices are enough to keep SB out of the 4 star zone, but the variety would put it in the 3.5 zone, if there were one.

I used to go to REI all the time till a friend recommended Sports Basement. This is the only Sports Basement I've been to so I can't compare to others. But compared to REI, SP is bigger and has a more varied and diverse selection. Also, the prices always seem to be lower then REI. I've bought jackets, ski helmet, gloves, hats, shorts, etc from here before and have always been happy with my purchases.
Today I went to SP because I had 15% off flyer from the Kaiser 5k. I had purchased items last week (b4 the 5k) so I wanted to see if I could apply the coupon to the previous purchase. I went up to the cashier and showed her the flyer and my receipt. I started to ask if I could apply the coupon for my previous purchase, but before I could even finish my question, she said "Ok, no problem". Two minutes later I swiped the card and had the 15% of my previous purchase credited back to my account!!!
Things I got here:
Triathlon wetsuit -- perfect fit, great sale price, sales associate really knew his stuff (and is a triathlete)
TriSwim (for neutralizing chlorine on your body) -- tons of the stuff for dirt cheap (like $2 / bottle)!
Ironman training books -- OK book / magazine selection
Bike selection sucks; go to a bike shop for that.
As mentioned previously, they give discounts for almost everything. I have a Gold's membership, which means I get like 10% off.
They also do a bunch of free events that are (probably) worth checking out.
I bought my first road bike here, and the bike staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Their prices are generally pretty reasonable. They used to give out 20% off coupons, but with the economy the way it is it has been reduced to 10% off, which now only covers tax.
They offer free bike maintenance classes at the Sunnyvale location once a month.
They have several other locations in SF as well as Walnut Creek. The SF locations have a much better selection of items as the stores themselves are much bigger than the Sunnyvale location. But if they have something at a different location that you want, they can have it sent to the store you want so you don't have to drive to the other stores.
I'd been looking for some running shorts that I could also wear lying down in the gym to do ab crunches without people looking up my shorts. This is a much taller order than I first realized. Most stores (REI, Any Mountain, See Jane Run, Lululemon) only had the option of high waisted super tight cycling shorts (tre flattering), Daisy Duke shorts with my ass cheeks on the verge of hanging out, and tight shorts that ended at my knees (too long and heavy). Some of the ladies' running stores had decent options but they started at $50. $50!
I was about to bite the bullet and spend $50 when a co-worker suggested Sports Basement. I found the best pair of running shorts I'd seen yet and for only $24. Also, they had a big selection of other very reasonably priced running attire.
They even had my favorite Champion sports bras at the same price as the Great Mall Maidenform Bali bra outlet. Sports Basement, be still my heart.
NICEST PEOPLE EVER.
Story time!
1. One guy spent a good half hour helping me buy snowboarding boots. I tried on like 5 pairs of boots, made a mess, and ended up not buying any of them because they didn't fit. And even after that, he spent 15 minutes calling up other branches to see if they had my size. Such a nice guy!
2. I asked someone at the front for help deciding between two snowboarding jackets, and they paged someone for me. This girl literally RAN from the back of the store, and she talked me through all the pros and cons for both jackets (while panting).
3. A beanie I was buying didn't have a tag on it, and the cashier just let me buy it for $10. Score!
Amazing service, great deals, HUGE variety. Loves it!
SB has the feel of a surplus warehouse (esp. the Ft Mason location), where form IS function.
PLUSES:
-huge inventory (for style, comfort, and/or speed; wide range of departments)
-knowledgeable staff that is as hands-off/on as you ask them to be (great source of info/input on gear, products, training, recovery, etc...most of these folks are legit athletes and have quite a bit of expertise)
-great prices (add'l discounts available from event schwag, group shopping "parties", corporate perks)
MINUSES:
-shoe department is somewhat lacking
-no Nike (call me what you will, but I heart my Nike!)
-no Peninsula location
My go-to for ski rentals & passes, fitness gear, and basics.
I Luv Sports Basement!
I'm not too outdoorsy, but if you need gear for anything outdoorsy (differant than a Sports Authority/Sportsmart), come here. Camping, rock climbing, nature stuff - they have it all here. I got a free $10 off coupon from 24hour fitness and decided to check it out. I bought some dri-fit clothes since I do a lot of sports. Again, if you're into camping / outdoor sports and need gear come here. I'm not sure it's that cheap (prob a bit cheaper than other brand name spots), but the selection and values are pretty good (maybe you can find better online). Great shop though, humongous too.
First visit I got exactly what I was looking for--overwhelmed by the selection and reasonable prices. I live in Fremont and would drive the extra 16 miles to get here just because of that and also the fact that the Fremont REI store sucks----see my other review on REI...
Relatively cool people that work there as well. Worth the drive.
All I can say is 'daaaaangggg'
We came here to buy thermals, lift tickets and rent skis for our snow trip. We were wandering around browsing stuff totally distracted from our main goal, and a guy (I can't remember his name but was wearing a black beanie) asked us if we needed help. I said we needed to rent skis . He pointed us in the direction we needed to go in then went about his business.... lol so then 5 mins later he came back and said "You ladies should go over right now a lot of people are renting stuff out and we are getting kind of low"
Im glad he did that because a line started to form right after us and other girls were told SB didn't have their size (we got the last rentals). The rental prices were better then what we found in Tahoe last time and Kirkwood tickets are refundable (nice)
My sister left her phone there, when we returned the skis I asked if they found it...the girl knew what I was talking about before I finished lol saved me the embarrassment of explaining =)
but they have EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
