It's a big sports store...
The staff wants to be helpful, but unfortunately I only shop on the day that the product line ups are changing so nothing I want is where it's supposed to be.
Yesterday my aim of grabbing some socks for a trip to Eugene was sidelined by the fact that all winter gear is being blownout and most kids socks had already been moved to the storage area- this is a key reason to always ask- "do you have more stuff", because they produced great socks at 25% of the cost of other options on the floor.
I ended up buying a ton of stuff- these big chain blow out sales are a deal on kids stuff- most of the adult stuff has been marked up so high it doesnt matter that its 40% off -

Whoa...this store is CREE-PEE!!
I have officially dubbed this location "The Detroit of Sporting Good Stores". Let me explain.
I didn't go in here to shop, but to accompany my dad who I had gotten a gift certificate for. I was expecting to be bored to tears while he looked around, but this was not at all the case. As we entered, we noticed how funky the layout seemed. Next, I started to notice all of the broken, busted up, non working neon letters around the walls in various sections. After a little more investigation, I discovered that this particular location was once home to a raquetball court, basketball court, driving range, and batting cages that have all been covered over with black fabric "haunted house style" and are now being used either as stockrooms or big, creepy black spaces. I found this very odd and I felt like I was doing some serious urban exploration as I explored the store looking for The Ghost of Sporting Activities Past.
Yeah, that's probably the world's weirdest review on a sporting good store...but I think that the world's weirdest sporting goods store deserves it! -

Great place to run in and quickly get your things you need for your day on the golf course. Also they usually will have some pretty good deals on wedges and drivers. Their club selection is pretty limited but they have a huge wall of golf balls to choose from. I have been shopping here since it was an Oshmans and they would let you hit demo clubs....now is not the case!

Ok I went here for one purpose only, and that was not to over spend on some Nike shoes.
Like I said it was about price today. I'm in the shoe area and found the pair I like and will to pay for.
So off to the counter I go to pay and move on with day, the cashier rings me up and then the following happened.
He wanted me to buy an extended warranty coverage to protect me in case the shoes where to falter! Are you kidding me lol Falter!! I only paid $30 it was a sale. I said no thanks and he wouldn't let it go lol He thought it would be wise to do so. I thought for a second I was buying a car or big screen TV. I looked on the counter again nope there where my shoes! lol NO SALE ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY i stood strong!!!!!
Can u believe it LOL -

Great news: They sell quench gum by the piece. 15cents!!!
Good News: I got an OK deal on some essentials for the gym today BUT I did hit up the sale rack.
Bad News: Overpriced indeed and they tried charging me a dollar extra for my swim goggles which always convinces me that for everyone that isn't on top of it like me they totally get some extra moola and that is just not cool. I also agree with the horrible service and even though I used to work for a sports store in my high school days and was overworked and underpaid,I can identify BUT at least they can pretend they like their jobs, I mean they do get to jump on the trampolines after the store closes right?Listed in: F-Town, Dumpsville

Short Version: Well-stocked sports stuff at average prices...in beige.
Long Version: Okay, okay, it's another sports gear chain store, and they have a lot of equipment and variety with prices that are average. The staff usually has an idea what they're talking about, too, which is nice. It's clean, well-kept, plenty of parking, they'll help you to your car when you have a lot of purchases. Great, fantastic; but it's also boring. In the end, this store gets you what you need, but they've got no soul. No personality. No flair. Maybe you don't need that. Maybe you're wondering, "What the hell does anyone need flair for in a sports shop?" And, you'd be right to ask. But there are certain stores you go to because not only have they got great stuff, but it's fun to go there. Think of Fry's Electronics and you'll know what I mean. Here, they'll get you what you need and you'll be satisfied with it, but where's the fun? -

I do agree with others that the prices are too high... although I did get really good service once....

Overpriced, HORRIBLE service. The employees are rude and very unprofessional. I was trying on some running shoes and a group of three male employees were chatting amongst themselves using all sorts of expletives. I'm assuming they are in high school, but that is no excuse.
Sports Chalet in Brea is much better in terms of price and service. -

I came for World Cup gear. There was one small rack. Most of it was Brasil, but I got my USA jersey.
