10 reviews for Sportique Scooters
The bf and I recently purchased a 1982 Honda Aero off Craigslist for $300 on a complete whim. That being said, we're not scooter-folk, in fact I've never sat my cute little tushie on a scooter before until that day. So imagine our hesitation in bringing it to Sportique Scooters for fear of being ridiculed by what we thought would be elitist scooter connaisseurs. I could not have been more wrong....basically our conversation went like this:
Us: "Ummmm we don't know if this needs any work, can you like, ummm look it over and tell us if like ummmm anything needs replaced or fixed?"
Sportique dude: "Yeah sure, I'll give it a once over and would you guys also like a brief demonstration on how to ride it and the maintenance on it?"
Us: "Please GOD give us any help you can"
For no charge what-so-ever this guy looked over our scooter and gave us tons of helpful pointers. Hell, we didn't even know how to put gas in it and he showed us that as well. Best of all, they didn't seem the least bit suprised that we were so scooter-ignorant. I never felt like we were being judged, Sportique was simply full of helpful people who were passionate about scooters
They were so good in fact that they were pretty close to getting me to buy another used scooter off of their lot...but I managed to twart them off with the fact that I have no money
Great service, great products and generally kind and knowledgable people, this place gets a well-deserved 5 star review!
I had a totally radical experience at Sportique Scooters where I purchased my fabulously awesome Symba motorbike last month. The sales staff are smart folks with good advice for the first time two-wheel vehicle buyer. They taught me how to ride my bike and let me go around the block as many times as I wanted. Everything with the transaction went smoothly and I LOVE my new ride.
The only complaint I have is actually not at the Denver store, where I made my purchase, but the Englewood location. I've been down there a few times, bought a sticker once, and the bathrooms leave something to be desired. I know your Denver store used to be a gas station, but the bathroom in Englewood takes me back to many a road trip pit stop. Icky.
But otherwise, thanks Sportique for a fabulous bike buying experience. I'll be back for more stickers.
Dropped six Gs in two weeks there. Val, the retired-professor-cum-scooter-saleswoman is awesome. So's Cassie. In fact, everyone we dealt with seemed to really love their job and wanted to help people get onto the best scooter possible. They don't work on commission.
Best part? Been riding non-stop since I bought. ZERO buyer's remorse.
The Vespa needed service and these guys did a great job for a good rate. No bull. didn't tell me I needed a bunch of stuff I didn't.

Sportique is a great place to not only get a scooter, but also to get it serviced. Much less… Read more »
Terribly friendly staff. Knowledgable, approachable, and smart.
It's right across the street from the Pecos Street "Denver Urban Garden." Which is neither here nor there, but I like the fact that I walked past tall stalks of corn to buy my scooter.
The staff are intent on answering questions about size and safety, titles and registration, laws and regulations. Test rides available.
All around pleasant experience.
Just to update...I finally was able to pick up my scooter the other day, and it's been a blast. It took a month, which is not a reflection on Sportique. Scooters are ridiculously scarce these days, what with the oh-so-affordable gas prices that Mr. Bush promised us all. They were even nice enough to send me a vintage Royal Gorge postcard thanking me for my patience. Good stuff.
You can see me around town smugly flaunting my 90mpg sticker on the back of my helmet. At least, until some Hummer driver runs me over in a pique of petroleum induced rage. Check out the picture in my gallery.
Finally, I'm thinking of doing some political action to try to get all step-through scooters approved for sidewalk parking. It makes no sense to me that a physically bigger 50cc scooter is okay for sidewalk parking, yet my tiny 125cc must take up an entire city spot. Nonsense.

ADDENDUM: Colin (owner of Sportique) just sent me a hand-written "thank you" in the mail on an old-timey postcard! Not bad, not bad! Thanks, C!

I found a shiny 1967 Vespa Super Sport 180 on eBay for sale by Sportique. I sent questions, and… Read more »
Scoot yourself on over to this retro looking shop for the fun yuppy scooter that you love to hate. Sportique couldn't be based in a sketchier neighborhood... Mine! Located in the East Highlands, (which is now up-and-coming, but is often still too scary to go out to my car past dusk) this scooter joint definitely has enough guts to not only be worried that some drunk would climb the fence to steal a scoot, but that people would venture over to this messy neighborhood for the scoot of their dreams.
The store has been around I think for almost 10 years, so obviously things are going well. The scooters fill the parking lot outside the office, like an overcrowded gumball machine at the oil shop. This is a sure stop for anyone who is interested in purchasing a scooter, or just plane loves scooters in general. The staff are passionate and take the business seriously and if you are lucky, you too might just be taken seriously riding one of these things, but I doubt it... Unless of course you are Italian and you are sweeping me off my feet to go take me to some fresh buffalo mozzarella.
* Star one for such a cheesy name that it works
** Bring me back star two is for a great building that always peaks my interest
*** Ballsy star three is for being in a distinct and old neighborhood... Gives the store a more marinated appeal
**** Keep it quiet star four is for never really hearing people try out the scooters on my street... Well, not too much
***** Bellissimo star five is for bringing me back to Florence every time I hear the buzz of a scooter pass in the background
Denver's oldest scooter shop, these guys know their stuff! If you're looking for a scooter this is the place to find it.
The folks at the Pecos location were HOPPING busy today, but they all had smiles and were VERY friendly and helpful. Even though they were busy, they took their time with us and did not rush us through or push us into something we didn't want. They let us test-drive as long as it took to get comfortable on the road. No hard sell on anything, just a very friendly, welcoming shop. Bought a 50cc Buddy that I cannot WAIT to get my hands on!
