"Rosalyn" the hairstylist gets 5 stars, but the overall score is probably a 3.5 star review. Clean, Courteous, and Convenient, but I am very preferential to one particularl stylist. Overall, a decent place if you are in a relative hurry to get a haircut, although my experiences differ from stylist to stylist.

Friend says Vicky sucks and did his hair wrong back and sides are messed up. I think his hair looks ridiculous.

Hi Jessie, We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. I'm very sorry we failed to meet your expectations. Your review is concerning to us and will talk to the team. Please stop by the store and have Angi take a look at your cut and see how she can make this better.

Prompt courteous service!
My son got a haircut at a nearby newly opened bar her shop and they really messed his hair up. The nice lady who cut his hair here totally fixed it and was thoughtful throughout asking me prior to fixing it if it was too short, etc.
I will definitely be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Justin H.Midway, UT1866324Aug 4, 2019
I've been exclusively going to Sports Clips for probably 8 years now. Living in Pennsylvania and now Utah, I always continue going to Sports Clips in my area. I was back in Maryland visiting family and went to the Pasadena store. It was a very lackluster experience.
Upon entering, one person was getting their haircut while all the employees were sitting around on their phones. For most of the time in the chair, my stylist and another were complaining about the store staying open until 6PM on Sundays.
My stylist didn't really listen to what I wanted. But the worst was when she opened my cape to buzz my neckline without wiping all the hair clippings off the cape. One thing I appreciate about Sports Clips is that they take care not to get hair all over my shirt and down my back. But this woman was careless.
After washing my hair, she didn't ask what type of product I wanted, she just put some gel in and slicked my hair to the side. I looked like a serial killer, so I quickly intervened.
It's so disappointing having these types of experiences. I really expect better from Sports Clips. It seems like some training is desperately needed at this branch.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chaz D.Glen Burnie, MD187348225Feb 25, 2020
Great service. Personable staff. Check in on app for convenience. Reasonably priced. Will be in my rotation as I haven't found my main spot. I also am very busy and appreciate efficiency and excellent service.

This place can't keep the same crew. Today was my last visit. I'm pretty sure the stylist was on Xanax or something with how out of it she seemed. I've given this place too many chances and the service just isn't good.

Butchered my husbands hair. He is particular about his hair, and I've seen him with some particularly bad cuts, but this was by far the worst. He went straight to the bathroom and spent at least 30 minutes cleaning up his hair.
The barber he saw seemed inexperienced. He was shocked that he has to school her on how to do her job. He will never go there again, even though it is convenient to our house.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris L.Pasadena, MD3111Mar 18, 2018

I have been to a few of these shops and still like the one in Gambrills. I won't be returning to the Pasadena location, however.
This place has really gone downhill. It used to be filled with reasonably talented/skilled hair stylists who were (or at least appeared to be) interested in a good quality haircut and who could at least carrying on a conversation without trying to sell you something. Over my last several visits the overall skill level of the staff has gotten worse and worse. Additionally, it's now pretty much a constant sales pitch the minute you walk through the door-right up until you pay. [asked multiple times to upgrade to the MVP, come back for "free" neck trims, buy this minty hair paste or our "game over" shampoo, etc.]
During my last visit the lady brushed the back of my head with the buzzer, cutting a three inch diagonal shape in my hair...and tried to play it off like nothing happened. Before that, she buzzed an inch plus around my ear on one side, and about half on the other.
As for the rest of it, yeah, I get it. Guys in the 21st century care a little but more about their hair-maybe. But trust me, I'm a little bit more interested in the latest sports news (like I would be caught dead watching a game that interests me at sports clips), how much this scalping is costing me, and what my hair stylist looks like-not minty hair care products or triple conditioning shampoo. I'm also a little bit interested in looking like I didn't just stick my head in a fan.
How about you sell me on a new beer (and let me try it) instead of smelly hair paste? Or alternatively, just give me a decent haircut.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
