I stumbled upon this place quite by accident. I started working a few miles away and I was driving around looking for a new lunch spot. I decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised. Their lunch special was delicious and very reasonable. Last night I went back for dinner with my wife, sister and a friend who were all first timers to Spice Grill.
I am by no means an expert on Indian cuisine. Because I was unfamiliar with the names of many of the dishes I tended to order dishes that I knew I would enjoy. Mr Singh, the Owner/Chef and the wait staff were very accommodating and patiently answered all of my menu questions. As a result, I am much more confident when ordering unfamiliar dishes.
I love spicy food and this is a restaurant that does not spare the heat. In other restaurants (Chinese, Mexican, Thai, etc) I always request that the spicy meals be made extra spicy for me. Don't do that here unless you really mean it. One day I wanted a spicy Vindaloo dish but ordered the milder Tikka Masala by mistake. I told him not to change my order but make the Tikka Masala extra spicy. I won't do that again.
The prices are very reasonable. Starters range from $3.95 for Vegetable Samosa to $11.95 for Assorted Kebab Sampler which contains Tandoori Chicken and succulent chunks of grilled lamb, green peppers and onions with Indian spices. My personal favorite is Aloo Tikki Cheat ($4.95) which are mashed potato patties with chic peas, onions, yogurt & exotic chutneys.
Of the four soups on the menu, I have tasted the Mulligatawny and the Tomato. Both are excellent. Chicken Mint and Shrimp Spinach round out the four. Prices range from $4.95 to $7.95
There are Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Entrees ranging from $9.95 to $17.95. Our table of four had Tandoori Chicken (marinated chicken grilled in a clay oven, $11.95), Lamb Vindaloo (a hot lamb curry with potatoes and hot vindaloo sauce from Goa, $13.95), Paneer Tikka Masala (cheese cubes in masala sauce, $10.95) and Malai Kofta (cheese dumplings stuffed w/ dried fruits & cooked in a mild creamy sauce, $9.95).
All of the entrees were accompanied by Basmati rice can spiced hot or mile according to your taste.
For dessert our table ordered the rice pudding ($3.95) and the ice cream called Kulfi ($2.95). I do not have a great deal of experience with Indian desserts so I am not sure if these were good, bad or indifferent examples. The Kulfi had a very strange flavor to those of us in our party. We asked the waiter what was in it and he said it was made of condensed milk and pistachios. The rice pudding was not a pudding at all but a dish of highly flavored milk with nary a grain of rice to be found. I would have preferred a dish with much more body as I have found in other Indian restaurants. Despite these observations both dishes were empty before the coffee and spiced tea arrived.
A variety of breads, salads and soft drinks round out the menu.
Our meal included 3 appetizers, two soups, 4 entrees, three bread orders (nan, garlic nan and laccha paratha), side order of raita, two desserts, one mango lassi drink, one diet coke, one coffee and one hot tea. The total cost for four was about $113.00. The experience was heartily enjoyed by all and definitely worth a return trip. -

I've done takeout from here 3 times. They delivered and it came hot.
I've ordered the same thing each time so I can't speak to the variety. Everything I ordered was made fresh and excellent.
The vegetable samosa's were mild with just a little spice. We split a chix tikka massala and 1 piece of Na'an. It's a decent portion, 1 small plastic container like you get at the supermarket for a pound of cole slaw, it's not huge either. I think the chix is grilled separately and added to the sauce before serving. It's cooked very nicely and the tikka massala is delicious. I'll definitely be going back.(cost was around $20)
I asked about their lunch buffet. 7 days a week, always 7.95. I don't know if the menu changes or it's always the same. The buffet was empty but signs were still up. Some dishes I noticed were chicken sag(spinach), chicken korma, a lamb dish, and there was also a sign for a lentil dish. There were around 10 serving dishes(1 was rice) and there were signs for some additional chutney's.
I hope you enjoy too! -

Former location of Veena Indian Restaurant. Went there the othe night and the service was terrible. Slow, slow, slow. They are claiming that they are "Indian" food but they have a combo menu with Chinese food on the back..not a good sign!!. I ordered a spinach dish, Palak Paneer, that I normally ordered at Veena and it was bland and not as tasteful as with Veena. My wife ordered a tomato based dish called Paneer Makani and it was watery although it should be creamy. The breads, Onion Kulcha, was wet and mushy. I took a take out menu with me but ripped it up and threw it out when I got home.
