We had the lucky adventure of joining Steve & Silia and their crew aboard the Speed Twin in Santa Barbara for some INCREDIBLE whale watching!
First, YES, we did see whales! Lots of them actually. Humpbacks. We'll definitely be going back in April/May for the Blue Whale Migration. (I've uploaded photo's!)
We also saw these black and white dolphins that swam along with the boat, pelicans, seals, and more whales. Steve, our Skipper, made it fun and exciting - pointing out spouts of water with, "There she blows!" And then gave us useful info on the whale's habits and showed us how to track their "footprints" on the water.
The crew was ever present and just has fun & helpful. The food was delicious and the beers ice cold. I was able to get some great photo's and make new friends with the other passengers.
If you live in So Cal, or are coming here for a visit, I would highly recommend fitting in some whale watching with the Speed Twin Sportfishing team! It's a once in a lifetime experience!
