Whenever I need to pick up some liquor for a party, dinner, or any other reason, the Spec's Clearance Center is always the first place I head.
While this store isn't as large as the big Spec's on Smith Street, it's still got a large selection and I can always find whatever I'm looking for here. They also have lots of little impulse items like scorpion (!) lollipops, chocolate shot glasses, and more.
I tend to like this place better than the bigger Spec's because they still have everything you need and you don't have to deal with large crowds.
The staff here is also always very nice and will help you carry your purchases to your car, especially those super heavy boxes that contain several giant bottles of booze. What? You might as well stock up when you go!
Plus, don't forget to sign up for the Spec's Key program, their frequent shoppers reward program. You'll get discounts on some liquors and, according to their website, the points you rack up when shopping is used to allocate some of their most highly sought after bottles of wine.
When shopping here, most people go to the front register to check out, but savvy patrons know that the register in the back is faster, so you can check out there to get in and out of the store quicker.
Bottom line, there's a huge selection of just about everything you need at a cheaper price than you'll find it elsewhere, and the lines are faster than those at the big Spec's. If you're in need of some alcohol - and who isn't at some point? - you should make this the first and only place you go.
You'll find all or your liquor, most of your beer, and a great deal of your wine needs at Spec's. Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I had a little difficulty finding brands and types of wine I was looking for but I also found some new brands to try out. Their wide variety and huge selection is commendable!
I can't give this place five stars because I've lived near the Holy Grail of liquor stores in Boulder and Austin. They'll knock your socks off and introduce you to a whole new level in the liquor store hierarchy.

BUT, with 35 Spec's stores in the Houston area and 2 in Austin there's NO excuse for pulling into 7-11 to pick up a six-pack on the way to your next BBQ, dinner party, holiday celebration, tail-gate party, graduation party or baby shower!
I must say, when it comes to shopping for liquor, wine and beer, Spec's is the best place store I've been to in the US! The selection is so vast that you can get almost anything you want there. The store is well organized w/ wine's being organized by origin, then the type of wine. The wine selection is phenomenol, but the only thing is you won't find many of the high-end $150+ wine's here. The beer selection is amazing w/ a selection of at least 100 from different continents. It's a one stop shop, to pick up all your cocktail making needs...lime, lemon's, olive's etc....
Being from California, the closest thing we have here is Beverages and More....but it is nothing close to Spec's. Highly recommended, A++
When I can get my liquor for a shameless price without feeling the shame, than I hit on something big! Where else can you get your brew for the price of a happy meal and still feel you got something special? This place will make your willie do the jitterbug!
Excellent HUGE collection of wine and spirits. If you can't find a liquor you like in Houston, then you haven't obviously checked out this place.
