It's like this: Susan has been cutting my hair for almost two years, starting at Sine Qua Non. She is hands down the best I've ever had; when my hair was long (which it was until last week) she cut it so I could wash and wear and still have it look great. Last week I told her I wanted to chop it all off and she was as excited as I was; I now have a great short cut that's even more low-maintanence. She is a fab, FAB stylist; she'll consider your face and how much work you're willing to put into your hair and give you the best cut you've ever had. Seriously.
Sparrow is close to the Blue Line and the space is lovely; bright and open. Great product line for sale as well, can't remember the name but I think the guy's Australian? I came away with some samples, it's good stuff. To sum it up, go to Sparrow right away. Guy or girl, they'll give you an awesome cut.
I have weird, partly-curly hair that wants to be a frizzball in front and a stringy mess in back. And yet, Susan gave me a super-low-maintenance cut that I loved and that garnered complements from friends and strangers.
The space is pretty, too. I'm glad to support these local ladies.
I have been getting my haircut by Susan for probably a little over 5 years, and I will never--and have never--cheated on her with another stylist. This is probably the most committed relationship I've ever been in. Pathetic, I know. But at least I don't look pathetic with my great haircut! I have very curly hair and I cannot express how many awful haircuts I have had in my day, but I have never gotten a bad cut from Susan.
If you have curly hair you know how hard it is to find a great stylist like Susan, and the friends I've sent to her with straight hair love her too!
Sheba is awesome! I live in Nashville and have a hard time considering looking for someone in Nashville to actually cut my hair - I always want Sheba to do it! This new salon is gorgeous and I'm so happy they were able to open up this space.
She will make you look good!
I can't rave to enough people about this salon! I am always so reluctant to get my hair cut, but I will now be one of Sheba's faithful followers. She did a wonderful job shaping my unruly curls. She gave me such a spectacular hair cut, I just about floated out of the salon. She is a down-to-earth woman who is focused while she cuts and styles. Most importantly, she listens to what her clients want.
Sheba is Chicago's best secret. She's been cutting my hair for 4 years - and I bring in ridiculous pics of giselle and what not and she actually can create it. She is real, and if you dont need a cut she will let you know.. not all about the money. I had her start cutting my husband too. He loves her. Now I'm moving out of Chicago - but will prob fly back to get my hair cut from her. And my facials from Nicole at trio.

A friend of mine in San Francisco always has the most amazing haircuts. When I asked her where she got her haircut, she said Chicago. I happened to be home for a wedding, so I got my long hair cut off by Susan. I think it's one of the best haircuts I've ever had. She really looked at my head shape and my face, and was clearly thinking about what would look best on me. My hair's wavy and thick, and often surprises stylists with its unpredictable behaves. Susan really thought about my hair, and gave me an incredible haircut. I'm so bummed she doesn't live in San Francisco. What am I going to do for another 8 months without her?
