I was clearly the whitest girl at the Memorial Day pool party, but today, voila, I'm sportin' a bronzy tan! This is all thanks to Samantha and her effective, but chilly, airbrush.
Samantha really made me feel comfortable which isn't that easy considering the circumstances. I mean, there you are "sin ropa" as we say in espanol, wearing a hair net, moving around in a big cinder block room getting sprayed by this cold spray. Pretty. But she made sure I didn't have a "stripper's streak" and I appreciate that. She also explained the tan care routine to make it last longer - including being careful about not getting caught in this afternoon's rain - yikes!!! But my tan looks good (and natural) already.
This is my second time getting a spray tan and I think it's a great solution for special events and pre-vacation for those of us on the paler side. It costs $40.
Bring on the pool party invitations!!!
I went to Spa Sydell for a bikini wax, thinking they were sure to provide the best in Atlanta. Instead the experience was really lackluster -- bad, even.
I felt completely rushed from the moment I walked in. I had never been to this location before, but was left to fend for myself to figure out where to go in the building. Since this may be the darkest spa I've ever visited, it wasn't easy!
The girl who did the waxing was finished in less than 5 minutes -- no joke -- and had a really abrasive, clinical attitude about the entire process. No small talk, no questions about what I wanted or needed, no "delicate touch", no careful towel placement... Instead I left feeling totally abused AND had the worst bikini wax EVER.
I was really disappointed. I hope my experience is not the norm, but since it's the only experience I've had, I will never go back to Spa Sydell.
