Never thought I would go to a day spa to get a mani/pedi. I usually go to a nail salon for the good prices. Great thing is they have Shellac manicures!

Wow! How come I never come here for my mani/pedi before?!?! Now this is truly relaxing!

My friend and I went here to celebrate our birthdays together. This spa fit right in our budget, without sacrificing service.  It's located in a strip mall area, but there is lots of parking in front.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the front desk person and were given a tour. It's true, the dressing area is pretty small, as well as the waiting area. But, it definitely came well stocked with cucumber water and small brownie bites. =)

We went all out and each got 3 treatments. I started off with my 60 minute Luxe Essential Massage and I was in heaven!! I hate it when therapists talk to you during your treatment and she definitely did not talk! She applied the right amount of pressure everywhere and I could have literally fallen asleep. (I totally forgot the massage therapist's name tho!)

Afterwards, I had the Alpha Beta Radiance Express Facial. I hadn't had a facial in awhile and it felt good to be taken care of. I ended my "spa day" with the Shellac manicure. I think the lady could've done a better job at painting my nails. The Shellac manicure lasted very long, but you could see the areas where the lady didn't do a good job.

At the end of our day, we didn't feel pressured to buy any of their products. I'd definitely go back!

I haven't been here for a while now but the company I used to work for would treat us once a year to get a massage or facial at Spa Luxe. I've only gotten massages there so I'll only review that part.

The location is great, very close to where I live now and plenty of parking. The Spa is located on a corner of a plaza/strip mall in Redwood Shores. It looks small and not amazing from the outside, but once you enter the Spa changing room, you feel really relaxed. The changing room is very small but the times that I have been there, they do a good job in not over booking time slots so you never see more than one more person there. I've never had to wait for the bathroom either.

The waiting room is medium sized and they provide trail mix, sometimes little brownie bites and cucumber or lemon water. The sofas/chairs are very comfortable and it's always clean and proper. Again, you never really see more than one or two people waiting.

The massage therapist comes to get you, greets you and is very polite. I can't remember the names of who helped me on those occasions, but I was pretty pleased with all of them. Just remember to always speak up if the pressure isn't strong enough. I think they always er on being more gentle - smart people.

The service is great, the staff is very polite and always smiling. Great place to go alone or for a company treat for employees!

Maybe I had bad luck and I found the lady in "one of those days', but I had the worst facial ever. And I can tell you, i have had many many facials, in many different cities and countries.
    I don't remember her name though. :(
I hope you are not unlucky as I was, feeling I threw $140 for an awful 'relaxing time'.
Since the moment I arrived i had the impression she was in a hurry and that she just wanted to finish as soon as possible. For the same reason, i didn't get to relax 'a bit'. Very unpleasant.
Also, the room was very poorly equipped so they wouldn't even have a table to put a plastic cup of water they gave me. I had to leave it on the floor.
Don't waste your money...there are many other excellent facials in the bay area...

    Been here a few times.

Always liked the relaxation lounge with snacks, drinks.  Clean bathroom and locker area.  Room with nice ambiance.

Massage and facial are worth it, though on the more expensive side.

Manicure/pedicure service, it is better than other places but not that much better that I would pay $75 again.  The one time I did it, there was no hand/feet massage what-so-ever.  It was bugging me on why they didn't even massage my hand or feet for 30 seconds when I pay so much.

Otherwise I highly recommend their basic service, such as massage and spa.

Wow! I'm really impressed. I wrote my yelp  review about my disappointing shellac experience and then a few days later I got a call from the owner. It was Thanksgiving week so I was really busy (deleted the message by mistake. Yikes) and then completely forgot to call her back. Well, today I got a very nice card with a gift certificate!! Now that's great service!! I really appreciate the time she took to call me, and even when I flaked and forgot to call her back, she still sent a very nice card with the certificate. Thanks!!!  that really made my day!!!

I've lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years but had never been to Spa Luxe. Today I went in for treatment by Dr. Sprague. I've been seeing Dr. Sprague for awhile with terrific results, so I knew I would get excellent care from him, but I was delighted with the amazing therapeutic massage I received from Angelee. I went in with stubborn back and neck tension that was dispatched with quickly and skillfully. I'm very pleased to be able to see Dr. Sprague in such a great location and have access to such talented therapists. I recommend Dr. Sprague and Spa Luxe without hesitation.

Went here for a shellac manicure under the impression that it was going to last two weeks before cracking. When I got there, I asked the nail technician for a French style shellac to which she said was possible. 45 minutes later the finished product looked like I let a 7 year old do it -- the white was bumpy on every other finger. Not staring at that for 2+ weeks. I kindly asked her to fix it as it was unappealing and I was unwilling to pay for a poor product. She had to check with the receptionist and blamed it on the quality of the shellac. I'm not a nail technician so I don't know what caused this. After her attempt at a guilt trip and another 45 minutes later, I walked out with a solid color shellac manicure which I was happy with....until this morning (less than 7 days later) when all of my nails began to peel. Seriously?! I refuse to use this place for nail services again.

I hate writing such a horrible review but the experience I just had at Spa Luxe was just that.

I've been to this place once before for a deep tissue massage. The first time was fabulous and I decided to return for what I thought would be a massage of the same caliber.  To my dismay, I left more angry and stressed than when i had arrived.

I can honestly say that the 75 minute deep tissue massage was the worst i have ever received!

I guess my first mistake was not requesting the therapist I had before, but that's a moot point.  I figured that all the therapist they employed would be of the same competence but was I wrong!

I am not going to claim that I know the intricacies of giving a deep tissue massage but I do know that in all the massages I have received (i get 1-2 massages every month or two) that the masseuse does not smash my face in to the face rest on every stroke.
I favor a very deep massage but this was more like her putting all her body weight on top of my and smushing me into the table.  She had no finesse to her.  Even after she asked about the pressure and I told her it was a little too much, I felt no difference in the pressure after she adjusted.  At times, I was practically squirming and cringing at what she was doing to my body.  She was doing things to my body that no therapist had ever done before and not once did it feel good.

I couldn't relax and all i could think about on this massage table was A) i can't believe im going to waste a good amount of money on this horrible massage; B) Im going to have to spend more money getting a massage at another place due to the mess this lady has put me in and C) I can't wait to get home to review this on yelp.

I know my body and I know where my knots are and she barely skimmed over them even though I said that's where most of my pain it.  Even at the end of the massage when she asked how I felt and I told her that my shoulders still hurt, she said that she worked them out as much as she could.

I'm sad to say that I will no longer be returning here...the ONE saving grace of this whole trip was at least the place is close to Ike's and I treated myself to a sandwich after what i firmly believe was the WORST MASSAGE EVER.

Open late, super accomodating, great customer service AND a great wax? Couldn't be happier. The staff was also more than happy to give me recommendations for tanning places since they don't offer it. They have a great atmosphere, music and Cassia is great for waxing (she knows all the tricks to make it less nerve-wracking and makes bikini waxing not awkward... always a plus!).

I recently came back for a post-injury stress-relief day. I had a wonderful sports massage and got my nails done. Only odd thing was that after waiting quite a while for my massage to start I felt a little rushed to get my nails done right away. I didn't mind having to do it in my robe, but my masseuse and nail tech had a little spat about it since its a little awkward to sit in front of the window that looks onto the parking lot in a robe! You'd think they would have communicated about this before getting in front of me. Regardless they are great at what they do and I will be coming back many times!

Came here for the express facial a little while back and the service is to die for! If you're a first timmer, they have you fill out a little sheet and if you check the box that lets them know that you want to learn more about your skin, they are very knowledgable and can give you very good advice! Ever since I started using some skincare products that they recommended my skin barely breaks out or has even a single pinple or blemish. The waiting area has soothing music, soft couches, yummy snacks and lots of magazines. My facialist, Rita, even threw in a free mini hot stone massage while I was there!

When you need a break from it all, do your skin and yourself a favor and come here! It's the right thing to do ;)

I love it here! My friend gave me a gift card to Spa Luxe and I am so thankful of him for it. The facilities are nice and posh, with plush robes and slippers. They have cookies, brownies, fruits and nuts along with tea and water for you to snack on while you wait. The staff are super friendly too.

I got a facial here with a Russian esthetician. She was awesome! She made me feel so pampered despite almost literally taking off a layer of my facial skin.

I am definitely coming back here again.

Spa Luxe saved my life yesterday.  Okay, well maybe they didn't save my life, but they sure made it a whole lot better.

I had a particularly stressful week and ended up with this awful headache all due to the dozen or so knots in my back that had deformed me into some sort of monster.  I looked like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, except with better hair.  Anyway, I called my usual go-to massage place, but they were booked until late in the afternoon and, frankly, I didn't want to wait.  I tried my second go-to place and again, no luck.  So like any other impatient ogre, I went to Yelp.  After weeding through the hundreds of reviews I finally decided to call Spa Luxe.  The nice guy who answered the phone could tell that I was in desperate need of a body makeover (was it the hysterical sobbing that gave me away?) and booked me with the person he thought could help me best - Augustina.

Augustina is a fireball of energy that worked like Esmeralda on those knots in the Hunchback muscles until the majority of them were merely marbles of their former selves.  She was fabulous!  In fact, she was so good that she's moved into the #1 spot for my go-to massage call.  Can you say speed dial?

They got me in fast, gave me the perfect person for the job and they're located in one of my favorite shopping centers.  The rooms were lovely and the aromatherapy a nice touch.  So why the 4 stars instead of 5?  I was a little uncomfortable sharing the common waiting area (in robe and slippers) with the boys.  It wasn't so bad going into the massage (when I still looked hot), but after a massage when the hair is disheveled and the makeup is smeared all over the face is not the time to stroll through a room filled with cute guys in bathrobes.  Otherwise, it was perfect.

Spa Luxe, see you next time the world brings out the Quasimodo in me!

    Dear Spa Luxe,

My mother and I visited you when our usual AvantGard Spa had no openings. Upon arriving in your conveniently located spa by Amicis/Nob Hill, we weren't sure what to expect. You looked so small! Upon walking inside, we were greeted by friendly receptionists who led us back to the changing rooms. Was this still the small little spa I saw from the outside?

Your changing rooms, bathrooms, waiting room, and massage rooms are so clean, and so perfect. And the bathrobe? Oh the bathrobe was fabulous! So comfy, I wanted to take it home with me. It was so relaxing waiting in your serene waiting room.

Our actual treatments were nothing short of amazing. My mom's massage was the best she has had- and she has been to multiple spas. I got your Tropical Journey... I think it was called something along the lines of that. Oh it was just FABULOUS! After the scrub, the yogurt wrap, and the body balm, I felt renewed, relaxed, my skin felt AMAZING, and smelt absolutely delicious!

Our experience with you was perfect! My mom and I have decided that not only will we be back for more, but we have found our new regular place!

    I Love you Spa Luxe!

I have to say, I have been to Spa Luxe a handful of times, and I am never disappointed!  From the warm reception at the front desk, to the all too nice employees, to the clean and great smelling atmosphere, this place does not disappoint.

I have been going to Rita for a few months now, and I could not be happier.  I have been having issues with my skin due to a new pregnancy (pregnancy glow....um not me!!) and she is so patient and gentle.  My facial always leaves me relaxed and refreshed, and of course, cleaner than I was when I got there!  She has been great at helping me find the perfect product for me out of control hormones, to help me tame this acne problem I have been having recently.

I also recommend the champagne scrub, which was AWESOME.

Really, anything there is a great deal, and a wonderful experience.  I would not recommend any other place!

I went and gave Spa Luxe another try (after more than 3 years) after they tempted me with coupons and their in stock selection of Shellac polish.... If you are out of the manicure loop, Shellac is the newest fad. The polish lasts 2-3 weeks without chipping and runs in extremely low stock (ie: many places advertise it but don't actually have it in stock).

Spa Luxe now has a new (and lovely) area for nails right up front. Nice. I appreciate the windows and serene music. I saw Carolynn today and she was great. Extremely precise manicure and the Shellac looks awesome and was magically dry by the time I got to the cash register. The entire manicure took exactly one hour (a bit longer than usual, since Shellac requires several coats and UV drying) and was mostly oriented around the application of polish. If you want an extensive massage or pampering, you'd be well advised to add on some extra services because it doesn't come with the regular service. This isn't a major ding for me, since I'm generally more concerned with how my nails turn out than how great the hand rub is... but some people might care.

I'd give them 5 stars if it weren't for price. Before tax and gratuity, a Shellac mani will run you $40. I've seen Shellac mani's run for anything from $12-40 in the bay area, so it's definitely at the higher end of the spectrum. That said, it did turn out well so I'll probably be willing to continue paying if it lasts the promised 14+ days.

UPDATE: Carolynn's shellac mani has lasted 4 weeks with no chipping. Twice, so far. Recommended.

As much as I love all the services I have gotten here (massages and facials), I seriously cannot stand the NOISY patrons in the lounge area that I have run into multiple times.

I get that it's not as big as other spas but ladies, do you really have to yap so damn loud with your girl friends? I would think the communal lounge area would be for RELAXATION before/after your services.  Ugh, this is usually my go-to spot when I don't want to deal with traffic and parking in SF. And the fact the prices for services are a bit on the high side for such a small spa, I might have to re-consider coming back.

On the other hand, the receptionists have always been warm and helpful. All the estheticians have provided better services than Burke Williams and the like. I've had massages due to intense work stress and they have helped tremendously. Just got a facial that was long over due and my skin feels baby smooth.

But I think the loud atmosphere and the lack of space puts a damper on things.

i came to spa luxe for a massage last week.  i got the relaxation massage which was their version of the swedish massage.  my masseuse was awesome and applied the right amount of pressure, checking to make sure i was okay (i like really firm pressure).  they also do group events where you can bring in your own beverages and snacks and they set up everything for you!

This past Valentine's day weekend I decided to treat my girlfriend to a surprise spa day.  Being a novice when it comes to all things pampered, I had no idea where to start looking.  Luckily for me I stumbled upon Spa Luxe's website and saw they were offering romantic couples spa/massage treatments.

The Reservations process was as easy as a phone call.  Quick, attentive services and an understanding that this was to be our first trip to their facility and my first foray into the wonderful world of massages had me optimistic and excited from the get go.

Upon arrival on our reserved day and time, we greeted by...no one.  The appointment was made for 3pm with a check-in time of 2:45pm and there was no one manning the front desk to aid us.  a therapist eventually came to the front, apologized for any amount of time we had to wait. and proceeded to get things underway.
    "Devin & Cammy, right?"
My girlfriends name is not Cammy (awkward)

We then entered the lobby/waiting area and the atmosphere was already very welcoming and relaxing.
Orange infused water, trail mix and assorted pastries were lain out.   There were comfy lounge chairs and benches all with tables nearby to sit back and relax while the therapist made final preparation in our suite.

The wait time was perfect - just enough to get acclimated to our surroundings, but not long enough to make us antsy or irritated.

The suite itself was more romantic than I ever thought it could be.
A dimly lit room with non-harsh aromatic scents wafting throughout.  Two massage tables were set up and the bath was drawn.
The water was the perfect temperature, the bubbles frothed just enough and the water jets gave a mini massage prior to the real deal.  Those bath pillows they use are extremely comfortable.  A great way to relax before the massage session began.

The massage...let me tell you - AMAZING!
Like I said, I'm a complete newb to the massage experience so I have no basis for comparison (other than those atrocious massage chairs that don't know the difference between tissue and bone).  I can't really express how the services where, but to sum it up...I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep during the session, never once felt pain or uncomfort.
I can't speak for my girlfriend's therapist, but mine (Stacie) knows how to get it done.

After my girlfriend and I were done and ready to finally get up off of the beds, we exited the suite where both of our therapists waited with water in hand.  We were then escorted back to the lobby where we finished up our afternoon with a glass of Champagne and chocolate truffles.

It was a great experience and more importantly my girlfriend loved it - So when the time comes again (Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc.), we will both be back at Spa-Luxe without a doubt.

I got introduced to Spa Luxe when my ex bought me a gift certificate a few years ago from this place.  Initially I thought a spa that's right across the street from Oracle can't be good.  But now two years later, I am a regular.

I go here these days mostly just for mani/pedi.  I know there are far cheaper places out there for nails, but I do enjoy the atmosphere and the 2 ladies that do the nails here.

The entire place is very relaxing and well maintained, I love to be able to chill after your services in their waiting area and nibble on cookies or just lounge on one of those super comfy sofas.  I recommend this place.

This is my first time there with my friend who recommended it to me.  I had a deep tissue massage at the Ritz Carlton, and decided to have one done here.

There is no comparison.  Karen my massage therapist identified a lot of muscles that were "locked up".  Mostly in my upper shoulder, and in the shoulder blade on both sides.  She found knots like they were in cross hairs and she got my whole back loosened up.  It was painful yes, and I was pushed to the limits, but she always told me whether or or not to back off on pressure and she knew when it was time for me to breath deeply and exhale when she hit the trouble areas.

She told me that I was going to be sore from it, but she knew my back needed a lot of work since I don't do massage maintenance too often.

She loosened up my neck and kneaded out my legs.  The Ritz was nice, but in terms of a heavy duty technical massage therapist, Spa Luxe has got them beat by a mile.

A real gem and a place for serious maintenance work.

Highly recommended for a day spa! I called to schedule a last minute 30-minute deep tissue massage and they were able to accommodate me. Jennifer was my therapist and I truly enjoyed my massage. She relieved all the tension in my neck and shoulders and I felt completely relaxed after my treatment.

The relaxation room was perfect and set up with everything I needed while I waited. I'll definitely be going back soon!

Lovely place. I met the owners & they were very gracious & welcoming. Had the new Shellac Method manicure that lasts 2 weeks. Actually found them by looking on the http://shellac.com website. And yes it really worked on me 4 more than two weeks.

i went yesterday for a mani/pedi during lunch as a treat from one of my vendors, here are the pros and cons:

    Pros:
    -beautiful facility
-caters to all needs like food, beverage and service
-private area for mani/pedi and very clean
-they sell great goods up front that are innovative and high end
-very detailed manicurists who speak English!
-seems like a great place to go back for a massage
-they have a relaxation room you can use after you get your nails done or other services
-the people at the front were very personable

    Cons:
-for the price(I didnt pay but I am sure it isnt cheap) they don't cut cuticles. I know this is because it makes them grow more and some places don't do this, but I like mine cut.
-the nail polish has that stickiness to it long after its dry (day after), I know it isn't the fault of them, but some top coats just stay sticky. if you hit it on things it dents over time
-the nail polish on one hand and on my toes bubbled up. I think this means it was put on too thick, but again may be a one - time case

Overall I would reccommend going her for an escape or relaxation and to be pampered. if you need a quick mani or pedi for $25 that looks pretty darn good (in some cases better) go to Royal beauty salon on Ralston - totally different experience but caters to totally different need and mood!

I would go back here for a massage or if a vendor was taking me.

    BEST MASSAGE EVER!

Ken is amazing.  I am not sure if it's appropriate to profess my love to him on yelp, but I will.  Ken, I love you.  I want your hands all over me, all the time.  You are phenomenal.  PHENOMENAL.  The best I have ever, ever had.  And I will gladly pay for your services again.

Well, now that I have gotten that out of my system, on to Spa Luxe.  I went there for the massage only, so I can really only speak to that.  I called today and was able to get a last minute appointment.  Since I was in a whole lot of pain, that was a definite plus.  When I arrived, early as usual, I didn't get any rude comments as I have gotten at other places.  "You do know your apt isn't for thirty minutes, right?"  Instead, the receptionist led me to the locker room, showed me where the robes were, got slippers for me, explained how the whole process worked, and then left so I could change.   She was sweet, thorough, and professional.  After stripping down and putting on a super comfy robe, I went into the lounge.  It was dimly lit, there were snacks (mixed nuts, brownie bites, some mints), water and tea, couches to sit on and magazines to read.  It was really peaceful and relaxing.

When it was time for my massage, Ken led me to the room, asked me questions about my preferences, and then left me alone to take off my robe and get under the sheets.  I immediately noticed the amazing smell in the room, how perfect the temperature in the room was, and how comfy the massage table was.  He came back in right away (I've been at places where it takes ten minutes for the massage therapist to come back, all the while I am paying).  He offered me aromatherapy during the massage (lavender or eucalyptus) and from the moment he touched me, I knew this was going to be a great massage.

I opted for the deep tissue massage, because I really needed it.  He used the perfect amount of pressure (for me somewhere in between really deep and I want to scream but it feels so good).  Afterwards he told me where my trouble areas were:  my legs (yup, that darn treadmill is killing me) and my shoulders (yup, that's where my tension is held) and gave me some suggestions on stretches.

He asked if I wanted to shower.  And I did.  I almost asked him to hop in, but since I have already been turned down once today on a shower offer, I decided against it.  Ken gave me the option of showering in the room or in the locker room.  I decided to shower in the room and he laid out towels for me and turned the shower on.  He even put an extra towel on the floor because he said it was a little cold.  The water pressure was perfect, and there was shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower.

The locker room had some complimentary items to use if you forgot your own (deodorant, lotion, brushes, blow dryer, etc).  I left cuter, sweeter smelling, and more relaxed than when I came in.

When I got out to the front desk, I asked if they had any face lotion I could use, and they gave me a free sample.  Very nice.  I paid up, and left with a big smile on my face.  I will be back.  And now that the word is out on Ken, I hope you will thank me, but still let me get an apt with him!

This was only my 2nd Brazilian wax experience, and Rita did a great job of making you feel comfortable and relaxed with small talk and conversation.  The front desk staff was friendly and helpful as well.  Both the hours and location are convenient to where I work and live.  I was able to call at 7:30 PM on night and get a morning appointment the next day.  I knocked off 2 stars, though, because of the high price: $65 compared to the $35 you get in downtown Redwood City and $55 in San Jose.

I plan on trying out The Pedestal in downtown Redwood City and if all goes well there, I probably won't be coming back to the Spa Luxe.

LOVED my sugar scrub and massage with (rebecca)(sp?)

in the middle of a strip mall but the inside decor was very elegant, great massage,  great staff (roger and skye are the front desk and owners...)

no jacuzzi or steam room though

takes spafinder gift certificates which they carry at costco sometimes, thus you are getting a discount

they have coupons on http://citysearch.com for bonuses with purchase e.g. 20% off a candle with purchase, or extras with facial...

minus 1 star b/c doesn't have extras e.g. steam room, jacuzzi, pool

little details that were nice: lounge had water, tea, brownies, snack food e.g. choc covered raisins, trail mix.

very nice robes! nice massage-y slippers, warm neck thing during the massage and also put on lower back!!!

Mmmm ... just reminiscing about my experience at Spa Luxe. I had the French Lavender Body Bliss(FLBB) which was ahhhhhmazing. I chose this treatment because it combines body exfoliation with aromatherapy and massage (does it get any better?)

Spa Luxe has a great waiting area with super comfy chaises, fresh fruits, cookies, water, teas and lots of current magazines. Next time I'll arrive more than 15 minutes early to enjoy the area even more.

The FLBB is an hour of bliss. The massage table has extra padding and thermal blanket, it was so cozy I almost drifted off to sleep during my treatment. I emerged from my cocoon incredibly relaxed (enjoyed the waiting room a bit more), with super soft skin and a slight lavender fragrance.

The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere luxurious. I look forward to more pampering afternoons at Spa Luxe!

I am still loving this spa. I have now gone back on numerous occasions and Rita is the way to go for facials and waxing. Rita the wonderful warm Russian lady is a hoot and so sweet and caring. I love her to bits.
An update on the robe sizing for the fatties(like me) they now have robes up to a 5x. It is a warm, clean, serene and welcoming spa. Ask for Rita she will not disappoint you.

I surprised my then-fiance with a trip here a few days before our wedding.  I got us the champagne rendezvous package for $425 (not including tip) - definitely a splurge, but I can whole-heartedly say it was well worth it and much needed.

The package was for 2.5 hours of pampering, which included:
    - a hydrotheraphy bath (felt more like a bubble bath in a jacuzzi to me. kinda nice and added to the whole pampering effect, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to order this a la carte)
    - 60 minute LUXE Essential couples massage (very relaxing. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep... maybe even snored a little  =X  LOL)
    - LUXE Essential Facial (I told them our wedding was just a few days away, so they went easy on the extractions.  I still left with glowing skin though!)
    - Champagne and chocolates (maybe if they gave this to us during the bath, the bath would have seemed less pointless hahaha... Instead, we got to lounge around in the... err... lounge... reading magazines and enjoying the treats after our massage and facials.)

Overall: I'd totally do it again!  My friend is getting married in October, and the other bridesmaids and I gave her a Spa Luxe gift card for her shower hoping she'll take her fiance here. (Another plus: their gift cards come beautifully wrapped.)

Oh, and parking isn't a problem at all here... It's located in a shopping complex with a huge parking lot.

I have had many services done here before and I love Amber and Rita for all my waxing needs and Carolyn for my nails. Amber is the sweetest thing ever and makes waxing as painless as possible. Carolyn has been doing my shellac manicure for a year now and is so meticulous and clean and she is wonderful to be around. I have gotten a massage here before which was better than average (considering the price), I do love that they have Bumble and Bumble products in their showers and locker rooms. However they don't actually sell Bumble and Bumble products (but you can buy it from the Salon across the parking lot). Everyone have such great customer services and that's what makes me keep coming back!

I've had massages at several of the fancy spas, including Nob Hill Spa, Four Seasons, and Burke Williams, but generally left those places thinking the massage was just alright. My massage last week with Jason, however, was hands-down, the best massage I have ever had!

I'd been studying for three months for my board exams and, two days before the exam, one of my friends presented me with a gift certificate from http://spafinder.com. I promptly went on yelp and spafinder and found that Spa Luxe was one of the only highly reviewed places that accepted spafinder gift certificates in the area. I decided to take the following day off to relax before the big exam and booked a 1p appt for a 60-minute deep tissue massage.

It's a little out of the way, tucked in a strip-mall in Redwood Shores, but it was easy to find. I liked that not only did the slippers come in different sizes, but so do the robes. Being a petite gal, I'm usually swimming in the unisex one-size-fits-all spa robes.

Jason led me to the massage table and asked me which aromatherapy scents I preferred as well as which lotions. I told him to focus on my upper back and shoulders and, boy, did he! He spent about 45 minutes on my shoulders alone, kneading out every single knot. Jason then asked me if it was okay if he went a few minutes over my time. Who would say no to a longer massage?! As my moments of extended bliss ended, I got up to put on my robe and noticed that it was 2:46p! I thought to myself well I'll be paying more for the longer massage, but it was worth every minute.

I took my time to relax, drink water, shower and moseyed over to the reception desk to pay. There sat my bill-- still for a 60-minute massage! I asked if there had been a mistake-- clearly I went way over an hour. The woman at the desk clarified it with Jason and came back stating nope, he gave you some complimentary energy work. Wow, I was flabbergasted and impressed. Not only was it the best massage I've ever had, but they were so nice!

Spa Luxe (and Jason)-- you've definitely won me over, I will certainly be back. I felt completely relaxed AND passed my test the following morning.

This place is definitely better than "Monde," the former spa that leased the place.  I believe some of the therapists stayed but the front desk is more friendly, and the spa now sells all sort of neat gifts and wonderful skin products at the front of the store.

I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon massage there with Maria.  It was quiet and serene, just what I needed.

I would definitely go back on a regular basis.  I was also told of a cellulite treatment, which I'm dying to try out.  I hope to have a follow up review on this later.
