This is a great gallery called New Visions. It features work from developmentally disabled artists who do their work in the studios at Southside Art Center. It's a therapy-based day program for higher functioning consumers, and they do beautiful work.
I once commissioned a piece from them for my cousin's wedding. She was born in CA, but grew up in Minnesota. I commissioned a salad bowl that looked like an opened California poppy, and salad plates that looked like poppy buds about to open. Pretty neato. My cousin really loved it even though it looked a bit amaturish. It was adorable.
