This place is great.  Great in Summer, with sidewalk seating/drinking.  Great bar food.  Great bartenders.

Good jukebox.  Great place to spend an NFL Sunday, and bowl a couple of lines.

Great neighborhood, with enough additional (Southport/Belmont) options to make it an easy evening.

Disclaimer - I didn't do anything here but eat. No beers, no bowling, no billiards.  Boring, I'll grant you.

As far as food goes, it averaged out to...well...average.

My sandwich was AWESOME (moz cheese, cilantro pesto, avocado and tomato on a nice, soft whole grain roll), but the hummus was literally the worst I've ever had.  It was just gross.

I'll probably have to go back and be less boring and add more stars. And not order the hummus anymore.

The food was fantastic but it took close to an hour from the time we sat down until it arrived. I am sure there was some sort of problem back in the kitchen because it seemed abnormal to some obvious regulars. I'll also hand it to the servers for just saying they were sorry and not throwing anyone under the bus. Also, I loved that everything on the menu was five bucks during lunch, even on a home game day.

I will go back once more and if the service times are the same it will be my last visit simply because I cannot take two hour breaks for lunch.

I was here last Sunday night for a post-marathon party in the bowling alley room.  My first time at the place.  I found it to be quite enjoyable and a perfect venue for a small party (25 people) with some decent bar food.  Pizza (perfectly acceptable but not great), mini-burgers, and several other items as well.  Attentive servers.

A number of folks took advantage of the alleys and all seemed to go quite fine.  I'm not familiar with the Southport Corridor as my son lives in Bucktown and his girlfriend in Ukranian Village.  Seems like a nice neighborhood.  I imagine there are hundreds of places like this in Chicago but the semi-automatic pin spotters make it unique.

I LOVE this place.  Great food (killer reuben sandwich with fries), good atmosphere, and enough space that you and your friends can hang out and hear each other talk at the same time (shocking!).

The bowling is nice.  But when I come to Southport Lanes for healthy non-athletic competition I come for the billiards.  The pool room is full of beautiful well-maintained 9-foot tables and has nice straight cues and smooth felt.  Definitely a great spot for an hour or two of games with your buddies when you don't want to share the table.

Bonus points for putting ping pong on the coin-op table in the side room during the daytime.

Super cool bar - pool and BOWLING - awesome!

We got a table near the back door and preceded to down some pitchers. Just wish they had had green beer for St Pat's. They have pretty good bar food too!

So what now seems like a lifetime ago, I decided this was my favorite bar in Chicago - that I literally was in love with this bar. Even though I hadn't actually been there in almost 10 years, when someone would ask, I would say, "oh, I love Southport Lanes. It's the best bar in the city"  Well, apparently I got over my more youthful crush.  I no longer love Southport Lanes.

I'm still smitten with the idea of having a bowling alley inside of a bar as much as I was before.  But now, more refined, execution is more the key.

Nothing wrong with this place as a bar still (though for some reason as one of the score-keepers I forgot to partake).  Good drink special, plenty of non-bowling activities. The problem is that it's got this weird bowling vibe I had forgotten about.  Partly it seems to take its bowling seriously and partially as a joke.

The lanes are well maintained but the pin monkeys (I can use this slur because my own father used to be one; making me a pin monkey as well in a way) are sort of useless at times.  I understand it must get boring back there, but the fact that sometimes they would knock over pins or put them back up was sort of obnoxious.  If they did this every frame it would be funny though, so long as the illusion of bowling didn't exist.  Or if they did little dances with the legs that stuck out at the end of the lanes.  A jig might be nice so everyone could scream, "dance pin monkey, dance!"

The rating, however, is more due the fact that instead of allowing one lane to bowl completely and then setting up the other, it's half a frame at a time per lane.  With the general party atmosphere of a big group, this means tracking down bowlers mid-frame who got caught up in revelrie.  We only got one game in within 90 minutes of bowling. Though had a great time doing so (thanks Rhonda G.).

Generally it's a great time as a bar with bowling lanes.  But as far as actual bowling goes, besides the unique experience, there are way better alleys closeby where you can get your drink on.  Lanes I have discovered since that have made my former crush on Southport shrink into the distance like the girl I used to go there with.

Southport Lanes you are the bar of my Youth! When I was but a wee lad growing up on the Southside of Milwaukee my Polish grandparents would take me and my brother and sister to the P.L.A.V. (Polish Legion of American Veterans) in Cudahy, Wisconsin. The P.L.A.V. closed up shop some years ago, but was a great workingman's club with a bar and a couple private bowling alleys. What great memories my siblings and I have for those nights with Grama and Grandpa Z., and Southport Lanes brought them all back for me!

The space is great, with billiards, (real) ping pong, cozy booths and 4 lanes of old school bowling! Read the chalkboard of Rules before you bowl or you might cut the Pin Monkey's legs at the knees like I almost did my first time up. Yes, there are Pin Monkeys at Southport who set up your pins, and take tips via a couple bucks tucked into a bowling ball, rolled down the gutter. A nice tip to the Pin Monkey might yield you a couple extra pins "mysteriously" being knocked down on your next turn. Or lack of a tip may yield to the occasional lifting of the ten pin, preventing a strike!

Oh the joys of manual bowling! Scoring is manual too, there's not even a screen showing the scores. This is a great place for a small group to have some fun or for an old school bowling date! Put on that poodle skirt Sandy, grease back that hair, you greaser, and head back to the '50's with your honey! I'm sure you'll score a Turkey in the 11th frame, if ya' know what I mean!

The waitstaff was excellent, and kept our group of ten satisfied with drinks and food. I ordered the chili nachos with no olives (natch) and can say I've tasted way better. They were kinda greasy, some chips got burned in the oven, and were just generally unremarkable nachos. Not even fresh jalapenos could save them! Perhaps I should have gone with one of Southport Lanes' many signature sandwiches. They've got quite the menu going here!

Southport Lanes & Billiards is highly recommended for bowling and billiards or just a great hang for drinks and food! And don't forget to Tip Your Monkey!

I shot some pool here the other week and enjoyed the atmosphere very much. It has a real antique feel. There are vintage ads on the walls, a high ceiling and dim lighting. I loved the stairs and hallway up to the bathrooms; I felt as though I were in my grandparents' home.

The waitress checked on us to make sure we had what we needed. I cut open my finger on the table getting a little too aggressive with one shot. They didn't have any bandages, but the waitress brought me some napkins. Close enough. I enjoyed my black & tan.

The jukebox was fun to play with; too bad they don't have all the best songs for the artists. There's still enough to choose from.

The bowling lanes seem pretty cool; I'll come back sometime.

If you're looking to host a bowling party, I'd suggest this place.

Ho-hum service if you're there just to eat. Better service if you drink a number of beers when you eat. Stellar service if you're hosting a party, are bowling, and have a huge tab at the end of the night.

Like the food? The food is always consistent. However, go to Daily Bar in Lincoln Square - same ownership group. Similar, yet better menu and excellent service at Daily.

Watch out for legs!! Yes, this seems like an odd thing to yell out at a bowling alley BUT not when their really are legs in danger of getting a little Tonya Harding treatment.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I like the look of the place because it has an old school charm to it. With that said, I think the actually bowling part of this place was an after thought. I think that while coming up with a concept someone wanted to have something other than pool tables and darts so they decided to throw in a few lanes. Literally a few lanes. They only have four. I would never go here on a weekend and expect to actually get an opportunity to bowl.

The staff took pretty good care of us last night since the lanes weren't that busy. We got an extra half hour for free and they worked with our small group on pricing. The waitress was pretty attentive and seemed to be the jack of all trades at this place since she was taking orders, telling us the rules, and passing out shoes. The manager came out and he was also a pretty nice guy and he assured us that we were set with our pricing etc.

I am not a fan of manual scoring and I actually missed the screens that show how great or how bad you're really doing. Not to mention, I really do need a visual cue to let me know when it's my turn :)

I recommend this place for a very small group gathering or just a place to come with a couple of friends for something a bit different than your usual bar outing. But watch out for legs!!!

I live right off Southport so Ive been there a few times and its always been a typical bar until I went there this last Friday.

We put our name down to bowl and even though they said we most likely would never get called to bowl we did actually soon after. However, to begin with the girl who was in charge of the bowling was extremely rude (10/16/09) to everyone (and thats a nice way of saying it)

She hardly ever came around to take our drink order when we were bowling and when she did she seemed very annoyed we wanted drinks (hello thats business and tips for you). Well we finished bowling and she came up to my boyfriend with a $75 tab. My boyfriend and my friends boyfriend both had tabs open at the bar and each round we specifically told her which tab to put it on. When my boyfriend asked why it was so much she said she put all the drinks on his tab. My boyfriend of course refused to pay it saying he would pay for the drinks he ordered as well as the bowling for our group. She then took the tab to my friends boyfriend and said that guy over there refuses to pay this tab so you have to. My friends boyfriend not knowing what was going on said ok and paid the $75 tab she brought to him. My boyfriend just looked at his bank account and was charged the original $75 that chick tired to make him pay, his $40 bar tab plus the $32 for bowling on top of the $75 original bill my friends boyfriend paid plus the $50 bar tab of his at the bar. This place is such a rip off and employee rude people. I will never go there again!

The food was really good here. I ordered a caesar salad with the dressing on the side and my bf ordered a hamburger. I liked my salad a lot, and his burger was delicious. Definitely a place to go just for the food if you're in the neighborhood. The only thing annoying about that is the waitress beginning to get my bf's order while I was trying to order a coke (she'd just taken my food order and decided to get his before seeing if I wanted a drink). I had to wait a really long time for my coke-I was halfway through my meal when I got it because I had to wait for her to deliver my bf's beer before I could try ordering again. I almost didn't get to-she was moving too fast to other tables. We sat outside, which was a good choice for a warm night.

Anyway, went there last night for a birthday celebration for the bf's uncle. The bowling was fun once we finally got the hang of it, but it was really annoying for a while. It's also incredibly, incredibly slow, and sometimes the pin boys would mess up our game because they weren't paying attention and we'd have to yell to them to fix it. Also, twice they  set the pins and pulled up the rack, leading 2 of our bowlers to roll their balls, and then they put the rack back down, causing the bowlers to have to yell a warning and the balls to hit the rack (though not at the same time). Our pin boy wore long dark jeans and it was often difficult to see him (though he never got hit with a ball). The other pin boy working the other two lanes wore long shorts that showed some of his leg, which made it much easier to see him. Too bad he wasn't working for our lanes. They should definitely have those shorts as part of their uniform so people can see them better.

It ended up being a lot of fun, but it's definitely a novelty. I prefer automatic pins for sure. No waiting around for slow pin boys to finish setting/re-setting, and less of a chance of it messing up our plays. We also wanted to play pool after the bowling, but some dumb kids had shoved chalk and something else up into the table, causing one of the workers to have to sit and get everything out. Because we'd already put our money in before the problems, they nicely just comped us a game in the billiards room (the table we were trying to play on was in the "alley").

I went on a date here and it was great. We just got drinks and some appetizers and our service was good.  (read: she left us alone to chat) The last time I was here for bowling I was about 11 and had a fabulous time.

Here's a tip - the bathrooms are up the stairs in the front. I walked past my date several times before discovering it was upstairs!

Southport Lanes & Billiards is a fun place and a good bar. They have six fairly-well maintained 8' pool tables, and bowling. I haven't bowled there, but people seem to enjoy it. They also host a very good APA pool league there.

Southport is a popular place for corporate and private parties. However, if there is a large private party in progress, and you are not part of it, it can get a little annoying (crowded, loud).

It's also a Cubs bar. I saw some Cubs players there before; one of the players was having their birthday party at Southport Lanes.

Biggest upside: The waitresses. They are all very friendly, work hard, and do a great job. The door guys are also very good.

Biggest downside: The food isn't very good compared to other bars in the neighborhood.

First of all, I would come here just to eat, it's that good! The Philly cheese steak eggs rolls were inventive and drool-worthy. Plus baskets of tater tots and mini egg rolls kept the party going during an intense pool game (at one of the 8 tables!) where the stakes were high for losing, shots! The waitress was very kind, and the drinks and shots were all reasonably priced. Once we retreated to the bar area, it's cool how you can see inside the bowling area, without having to actually go over there.

Hey Hey Southport Lanes you rock!

When you first walk into this place it has a great feel to it.  . The bar area is a good size and has a high thin table in the center for resting your drinks on.  Then you can walk into the next room and guess what? Bowling alley! This is not any bowling alley, its an old school manual lanes bowling alley.  (which i think is really bad ass).  Then in the back room they have 6 pool tables with plenty of room for you friends to hang out and play some pool. (which I  also think is really bad ass)

Extra Thoughts:
I think Southport lanes is a converted house, when you walk upstairs to the bathroom the hallway looks like a old house hallway.  The bathrooms look like they used to be bedrooms.

Noisy!!!  I came here with a group of people for a meeting and they seated us right next to the bowling lanes.  We ordered a ton of appetizers, only a few of which were tasty.  The waitress was painfully slow and not thrilled to serve us.

I gave it two stars, because it seems like it could be fun and they also have a guy behind the bowling lanes loading pins.  I'll give this place another shot soon.

The initial reason for stopping by was for the entertainment:  the pool tables. But over time I have grown to appreciate their menu -- which isn't unique (e.g. standard bar fare) -- but it is very well prepared: great burgers, pulled pork and nachos.

I have been bowling here as well and do recommend it for a different night out.

Finally, service -- there have been great nights and there have been nights when service could have been better, but overall, the great nights predominate with servers and bartenders being helpful and readily available.

They really need to play better music in this place. It was like angry, late-90s flashback. Ick.

I think if you arrive early and grab a ping pong table you can have fun for a few hours. But by 10 or so (even on a week night) people were waiting to play and they were being kind of jerks about it. People ought to know that if  you want someone's table, you challenge them for it. Winner gets table. You can't just declare that you've been waiting and expect other people to stop having fun. Oy. And no one from the bar was moderating this chaos either. We bailed as soon as tensions flared and settled into a booth up front.

Our server was a little slow and she blew by more than once without pausing long enough for us to shout a beer order.

Southport lanes gets five stars from me because I don't even like bowling, and I still always have a good time there.  This place has pool tables, ping-pong tables (free on Mondays!), and of course bowling.  And I love that the bowling is totally old school--with the pins being set by hand (P.S.  These guys are very bribeable-- just put some money in the ball, and watch your score improve!)

The food is good too-- I've had really good burgers, pulled pork, and a seriously spicy buffalo chicken sandwich that I could not stop eating.  Also, the fries are good (they're especially tasty when dipped in the blue cheese sauce that comes with the buffalo chicken sandwich).  All in all, it's a great place to stop by when you're sick of the typical Southport bar scene, but don't actually want to venture off Southport.

Absolutely brilliant!  For the second year in a row, my softball team is being sponsered by Southport Lanes.  this is the perfect place to go and have a drink after the games.  You've got your choice of bowling, pool and sometimes ping-pong!  The waitresses and bartenders are always cool to us...since we are there once a week during the season, we really get treated like special guests.

63 is:

a) The code for international direct dial calls to the Philippines
b) My bowling score
c) The age of Dwight Eisenhower when first elected president
d) A record number of points Jordan scored in a Bulls-Celtics playoff game
e) All of the above

This was my second venture bowling at Southport Lanes. My return trip was for 'Grab Your Balls,' an event arranged by the lovely Rhonda G. We bowled, we drank, we trash talked; it was awful, a root canal would've been more fun.

Just kidding, it was really fun!

Southport Lanes is old school; the cardinal rule of bowling here is "If you see legs, don't bowl!" Yes, SL still has manual pinsetters. On the downside, only one lane can bowl at a time (the pinsetters stand in the other while you bowl); on the upside, bribing the pinsetters is a perfectly acceptable way of improving your game.* Service was adequate, but it could've been more attentive considering it was a weeknight and not very busy.

If you're planning a party and want to do something a bit different consider renting out the lanes. It's not that expensive, the beer selection good, and the food decent.

Bottom line: This place hovers somewhere around 3.5-4 stars. I imagine it's pretty packed on weekends.

TIP: Ladies trim your nails before you bowl, mine weren't that long and I tore them to shreds!

ANSWER: E, all of the above

* I earned my 63 fair and square, it may even be my highest score yet. I probably could've done better if it weren't for that ridiculous magnetic force field that repeatedly sucked my ball into the left gutter!

This place is classic!

We had a company party here a few years back (after trying for two years to get in) and it was outstanding.  The food was excellent, we weren't forced to get a drink package, like you are at the majority of places, and the bowling was a fantastic time.  I love that they have hand set pins.  Everyone bowled, ate, and told me they had the greatest time (patting myself on the back for an awesome party).

As far as the bar goes, it's got two rooms - one room with a gazillion pool tables, lots of wood, and high ceilings.  It's really cool.  I don't remember being astounded by the high prices to play pool.  And there are so many tables, you always can find yourself some friendly competition with pool neighbors.

There's another smaller area where there's the bar and a few booths.  It can get really crowded, and perhaps a bit overwhelming at times, but I've never found the service to be lacking.  With so much going on other than pouring drinks (renting out shoes, paying for bowling, organizing pool - which is also all done at the bar), I'm surprised its not erratic.  I suppose everyone has their own experience, but I've never had a problem with getting a drink or being ignored.

Bowling, Drinking, Pool Tables, Drinking, and other fun games all in one place? Hooray! I'm there!

Came here on one of our many bar stops on St. Patty's day. Boo to the asshole bouncer, there was TONS of room inside, yet me, a Californian had to stand in the FREEZING COLD for 30 minutes before getting in. Ridiculous. Then the bartender was a bit of a jerk to us, but after we were inside for 10 minutes Kristin R. and I began to have a great time. Total sausage fest in this bar and we got hit on with some original lines. Things like, 'Who's forehead is shinier?', asked by two bald men. Or (to Kristin R.), 'You've got the best set of upper lashes I've ever seen.' Umm... what? Also I got a free drink by letting some guy in through the back door (which we got yelled at for later). I was sung the Jack Black, "I want to f*%^ you."

It was all in all a great stop on Kristin R. and my St. Patty's Day adventure.

We had an event for our school here and had a blast.  We reserved a room with four lanes for bowling.  For whatever fee we arranged, we had two waitresses to get drinks for us (I never had to track someone down for a drink), a variety of food items (mainly pizza, hummus and vegetables) and the lanes for two hours.

Having the pin setters instead of a machine was kind of a nice touch except the pin setter we had didn't pay attention very well.  In fact, I think I rolled three balls instead of two for about half of my frames.

Overall we had a blast & I can't wait to head back!

I loved the atmosphere, the bowling is great,  the place is overall very nice looking, but those are the only good things I can muster up to say.
The food was bland and disappointing.  We visited on a not very busy weekend evening with a large group, and the service was the worst I have ever experienced!  The server was rude, slow and overall VERY unpleasant the entire evening.
Majority of the group I was with, including myself are servers, so it is not like we suck as customers.  I made an attempt at the end of the night to nicely alert the manager to the situation, but he was really rude as well.  Needless to say, all of the people in the group I was with will not be returning here.
So overall, if you want to experience a nice looking place with bad food and worse service go to Southport Lanes.  Oh, and I signed up here on Yelp just to post this...to warn everybody!

Kind of mixed feelings about the place.  Here we go:

Positives:

- Cool atmosphere
- Things to do, i.e. billiards and bowling
- Good selection of liquor, especially scotches, for a bar of this type.

Negatives:

-There was a funny smell in the bar - yes I know that bars smell, but this was a bit worse than usual - kind of like sewer water smelly.

- The food was not very good.  We had a couple of items; the hummus was too garlicky and did not taste good.  My husband had some fried stuff, just basic.

All in all, it's a fun neighborhood bar, especially if you want to bowl or shoot pool, at reasonable prices, but nothing special.

There are so many categories to judge a bar on, it's tough to decide where to begin.

Let's start with the pros: ping pong on Mondays is awesome.  They have nice servers who have gone out of their way to wait during a longer rally to wait to take my drink order.  Bowling is cool for this area, and they have a ton of pool tables...basically if I want to go out and be active this is usually where I'll end up.

The biggest con for me is the food lately...it has been completely average bar food.  I've had the same experience with SoPo lately and I've been feeling turned off towards bar food this summer..which sucks!  Overall I think the only other con is that you have to go upstairs to use the bathroom.

Many things for many people.

First, I think the food overall is pretty good, but don't go for food during a busy time.  It's great for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Next, I think they have one of the few dedicated pool rooms on the North side, so if you REALLY want to go out and shoot pool, this place is great.

Finally, bowling is a crapshoot.  Lanes are limited as are the balls.  So get there early if you really want to bowl.

One last thing.  There are quite a few post college idiots here too, especially like the guy with the BROWN CREW t-shirt in 72 point block letters.  He looked like a billboard that I could read 3 rooms away.

We get it.  You were the cock(swain) for the crew team.  Now take that shirt and clean your toilet with it.

An extra star for manual pin setters! You rock boys! (Man, that's a hard job, for real). And they are serious about protecting these pin setting rockstars...one of my friends beligerant (and unliked) boyfriends was thrown out for throwing the ball down the lane as they were setting the pins. Amen!

The lines are long, the crowd is decidedly vanilla. But, its Southport. This is what Southport is like. Long lines of vanilla. :)

The place is nice, unique concept, buth with 4 lanes...betcha ass you are gonna wait a LONG time on the weekends. Best bet is a weeknight or early evening...miss the crowds. It's sort of a compromise between ultra-trendy (and no, I do not use trendy as a positive adjective) 10pin and Lucky Strike and retro dives like Waveland and Diversey River Bowl.

I prefer beer in pitchers, auto scoring and 50 lanes of bowling bliss.

Decent food, good beers. No parking. No el stop for awhile.

I love Southport Lanes!

First off the bowling is pretty awesome and if you tip the people they'll knock down all your pins for you.  Not exactly fair but are you really that competitive with bowling??  The appetizers are really good, I love the large pretzel and the quesidallias they're both excellent.  Good beer selection, nice bartenders and managers.  My only complaint is that sometimes it gets really crowded (because it's awesome) so there is no where to go.  They have private parties in the back room all the time too which sucks because then half the bar is closed.  However, other than that this is a fun, laid back place for some beer and bowling!

After a couple tries at bowling, Scuba Steve and I FINALLY were able to bowl, and Southport Lanes was the alley of choice. We initally showed up at around 8:30 on a Thursday night, and while there were private parties in session, they told us to come back at 10pm for open bowling.

So we grabbed food , came back, and proceeded to bowl the 3 WORST games in Kara's HIstory of Bowling, Volume 1. But we had an awesome time doing it! The thing with the pin boys is kind of wild, and I would have won 2 out of 3 games had Scuba Steve NOT cheated by putting money in the ball for the pin boys to hook him up with a spare for his trouble.

They also recently put a table tennis top on the pool table in the back, so you can get your ping pong/beer pong fix whenever.

I went here to watch the baseball playoffs last year and I had a great time here. If you get there at the right time you can get a table without a problem. You can even go there early and get some grub. I'd rank this place high on my "best bar food" list. Yum! They have good mixed drinks too.

The most awesome part about this place, is that when you walk into the room to the right, there are 2 bowling lanes setup. It usually has a long waiting list, seeing as a game can take some time, but it's pretty cool. They even have people setting up the pins. Very retro!

Went tonight with my sister and nephew visiting. It was great fun. Food was good, nice selection of beer.
We played in these old style bowling and it was big fun for my nephew to tip the guy behind the pins and beat his old uncle. Really fun.
Great atmosphere.
I liked the bathroom upstairs, with the view of the street.
Definitively a place to come back

The best thing about this place is you can bowl here in a small bowling alley where pins are set by hand, sure it's expensive, but isn't doing almost any sport at a bar, especially hand-set lanes!!  If you've never bowled at an alley with hand set lanes, it's a fun experience, that much like watching The Cubs, you should do once - just to say you've done it and then do it every 4-5 years or so.

In regards to the rest of the bar, (although clean and spacious) it sadly get quickly overrun by all too familar Trixie and Chad scene that love to live it up on trendy Southport Avenue~

My best memory of this place is from the Summer of 04' when two friends and I were drunk on Blue Moon beer and decided to bowl semi-nude (Thankfully(?), we documented the evening on my digital camera) and eventually almost nude (for some of us at least) as the place was shutting down...As were finishing, Management came over and yelled at me like I was going to set the place on fire and all...I can see why they were upset, but they went overboard and just were talking down to me like I was a f*cking 3 yr old bratty child at one point, I admitted was wrong, but we (my friends and I) were the only ones in the bowling section when all this was going on, and apologized and offered no resistance or argument, but they just were so pissed, it was unreal to experience...

I haven't been back since, but if I do, I'm just going to take off all my clothes, and order the biggest pitcher of beer and drink it by myself as S-L-O-W-L-Y as possible, if not slower....Hey...I'm not mad, I'm just saying is all....

(Keep your clothes on if you drink here, or at most beers in Chicago I think)

Where else can you go to a manual bowling alley where people in the back reset your pins and send your ball back?  The amusement factor of this alone pretty much does it for me.  You add in the the pool table room and the decently large bar, and everyone has a great time.  Rumor has it, that if you put a tip inside the finger holes of your bowling ball, they will knock all the pins over.   Next time I'm trying this... watch out, I'm gonna win.

Hands down one of the best places in the city!  The food is awesome...I dream of the mini corn dogs and who doesn't love tater tots???.  The staff is always friendly and funny.  The prices are very reasonable which makes it a great place to go during the day and hang out.  Also, they have great outdoor seating.  Lastly, if you get bored with just sitting around, eating awesome food, drinking great drinks, and laughing...you can head to the back to play pool or you can bowl!  What could be better?

Good tasting hummus, generous portions, the waitress delivered a large carafe of water after looking at our sweaty bodies, quick service, tasty bloody mary.

I'll be back.
