This place is kinda small on the map. The pulled pork is very flavorful and the brisket is the best I've ever had. The dish that won me over is "The Big Louie." I try to get it every time I'm in Beckley, but it doesn't always happen. It consists of a huge portion of cornbread topped with pinto beans, pulled pork (or chicken), shredded cheese and onions. Yummy. Pour their hot sauce on it and it is a masterpiece.

Get the brisket. Pork is ok. The brisket is outstanding - no sauce needed. It is the best brisket you will find in an area where pork dominates.
Onion rings and fried pickles are the stand out sides. It is easy to find when you are heading through. -

Really tender and juicy ribs, sauces are kinda just ok. They are kinda watery so when you put it on the ribs, it just falls off. Cornbread and baked beans good but mac and cheese is like boxed mac.

I regularly go here for their peanut butter pie, I can't find this kind anywhere else. But at times the service is lacking, when it's slow. I had a bad experience with their hamburger meat not being cooked all the way, I didn't care to tell them, but I go here for dessert. I still enjoy it.

This place rocks. We stopped by on our way back from Louisville to Northern VA because I had a craving for BBQ. I read about it on a different site so thought I'd rate it on yelp.
The BBQ was very good here. I've had better, but this was definitely some good que. They don't advertise what kind of "ribs" they serve, which usually means spare ribs. No exception here. If given a choice, I'd always choose baby backs. No big deal however, because they did a very good job with the spare ribs. We also tried the pork and brisket sandwiches, along with the baked beans, fried okra and baked potato. All of the sides were great, especially the beans which I think had chunks of jalapenos in it. The BBQ sauce was very unique. It seemed to be a blend of the surrounding regions. It was light and vinegary, with lots of visible black pepper, akin to NC style but at the same time was sweet and had a tomato base, more like you'd find anywhere from TX to VA. I thought the best dish was the brisket sandwich, very nice Smokey flavor.
The service is what really stood out though. The people there were so nice and generous. They gave us free drinks while we waited for our food and also gave us half of a "Barnyard Pie", which was very, very good.
Overall, I'd give 4 stars for the BBQ and 5 stars for the service.
