Dr. Al Choi has been my dentist for 4 months and she is excellent. I highly recommend choosing her as your dentist. She has a great chair side manner and through out your visit she is always making sure you are comfortable.
Additionally, the practice is very well run and everyone is friendly and courteous. The facilities and equipment seem up to date. The decor is bright and clean.
Great experience all around. -

Let me just start by saying that this practice is not like any practice I've ever been to. I don't really know how to explain it so you'll just have to come here and see for yourselves :)
That being said, the Choi's are AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. Here are just a few of the many reasons why this is now my go-to dentist spot.
1. The service is amazing. Everyone from the reception, to the hygienists, to the dentists themselves are SO friendly and professional. They remain patient when you ask them a bunch of pestering questions. They put you at ease by completely giving you a walk-through of your procedure and what's going on inside your mouth.
2. The place is so spacious and clean. It doesn't feel like your typical dentist; this almost makes it feel like a spa (where you have to still endure the sound of drilling unfortunately).
3. The details in their service is astounding. Purse hanger on the side? Check. Complimentary headphones and radio to drown out the sound of drilling? Check. Warm blanket in case you get cold? Check. This place is like an experience hah
4. They are completely transparent and honest with you when it comes to your dental hygiene. They go into detail of what work needs to be done and their recommendation but they NEVER pressure you. They understand that money can be an issue for many people but they just want to present all the options for you.
I can't say enough about this place. Seriously, I hate the dentist but this actually makes for a really, really enjoyable trip. Highly, highly recommend! -

I love my Dentist!
That's words you probably don't hear everyday, but the experience is great here. You quickly learn that you don't have to tremble in your boots to come in for a cleaning.
The place is really clean, has really friendly staff, and most of all, Dr. Choi and associates are GENTLE!!!

I hate dentists, I hate going to them, and I'm one of the bad ones that only wait till I'm hurting to go to the dentist. I know I know it's terrible.
But this place was absolutely awesome. Receptionists, Dr. Ng, Dr. Kim, Cindy, Diane, and Alysha everyone was super friendly from start to finish. Very clean, explained everything every step of the way. I came in with tons of pain, and left happy. Makes me want to keep coming back and have regular dental visits. I will definetely recommend to everyone that's scared of dentists, this place will change your thinking. -

Came back for the 3rd time earlier today and was greeted by one of the same receptionist whom I have seen in my prior appointments. My tooth piece thing came in and my my Dr. Choi's work is quite amazing, it looks as if I didnt have anything done. Now my main concern is, how long will last.. hopefully, it'll be for a long while!
I even asked Elizabeth who I have met earlier today why aren't other dentist using this technique. I honestly thought some dentist are comfortable with their current techniques and that they do not feel the obligation to update their old technology with new and better ones. In addition, Elizabeth was kind enough to explain other reasons why other dentist chooses not to use this method. Bottom line, the doctors and assistants here are very informative and educating.
My only complain is it takes a long time.....im usually here for over an hour...1 Previous Review: Show all »

I can't review the services of this dentist.
I had called in a few months ago when I was doing a dentist search. It turned out they didn't accept my insurance, so I didn't go with them. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful on the phone, though. If they were in my group, there's a good chance I would've chosen them. -

I just had BriteSmile done today at this dentist office by registered dental assistant Isabel, and I would definitely return to this office for teeth-whitening or any other cosmetic procedure. Although my initial exam and follow-up were done by a dentist there, most of my face time was with Isabel, and she was great.
I have already posted my review on the BriteSmile procedure (see BriteSmile in San Francisco), and I'd just reiterate that it's the least inconvenient method for restoring your choppers to their former glory (or close to it). As I stated in my other review, BriteSmile was only uncomfortable for the hour plus that my jaw was held wide open. It was a little sore after the procedure, but I did some jaw exercises on the drive home, and I felt better within an hour.
I would definitely recommend either the BriteSmile procedure or this dental office for cosmetic dentistry concerns. You can even book online for your convenience. -

I started seeing Dr. Choi about 2 years ago and was amazed at the quality and sophistication of his practice. It was a whole new dental experience, and I especially like that he's got an informational DVD at hand for every condition that he finds. You also get to watch him look around your mouth on the big screen with his dental video camera, so you know he's not making it up when he says you need something done. 5 stars!

I never dread going to the dentist because I know that everyone is so nice and gentle on the teeth. I feel so comfortable going in for a cleaning and I love that everyone asks how I'm doing in school. It shows they actually care and take good notes when you talk with them. I would refer this office to anyone looking for a dentist. They even moved their office since the last time I was there and the new office looks great.

My wife Elena and I have had to pleasure of being with Doctor Choi since November, 2008. I came to Dr. Choi because I had a very painful toothache. He took X-Rays and gave me a most thorough dental exam. He gave me a prescription for antibiotics to prevent infection. He realized that I wanted to save the tooth. He brought me back a second time to have a specialist look at my tooth. He tried everything he knew how to save the tooth. When nothing could be done, he sent me to an excellent oral surgeon who did a superb job of extracting the tooth. Dr. Choi also brought me in two times for a most thorough tooth and gum cleaning. He has maintained my care since all of these big procedures. He has had me come in at regular intervals for cleaning and exams. My wife Elena has also received excellent care from him. Dr. Choi is not only a gifted professional; he is also a man of compassion who really cares about his patients and applies that to every patient. In the military we would call his style of care: "Above and beyond the call of duty." His staff is also professional, well-trained and friendly. His prices are fair.

We (DH and I) have been going to Dr. Choi for almost two years now and he really is exceptional. He really takes his time, he's personable, doesn't patronize, easy to ask questions of, and keeps his office up to date with the latest technology. Not once did I feel there was any up-selling as I did with previous dentists. Both DH and I remember how patient he was with our questions when we had our first meetings with him. I later had a procedure done and I could tell he was efficient, careful and not rushed, not sloppy. At my last cleaning he was wanting to see ME for a little longer but I had a meeting to get to. His staff are also all very nice and punctual.

Dr. Choi gave me the most thorough exam i've ever experienced. After taking complete X-Rays, he had this special video pen and we did a video tour of each tooth where he explained everything he saw and what's was going on with each tooth in my mouth on a video screen.

I avoid the dentist as much as possible. So when my 30 year old amalgam fillings started giving out, I knew I needed an excellent dentist who would give me as little pain as possible. To make a long story short, I ended up at Dr. Choi's office and have had 4 of my molars filled by his young associate Dr. Ng. I can't recommend him highly enough. This was painfree dentistry, no gas involved. I've never had a dentist numb only one quadrant of my mouth. Usually, I would leave the office with half my face and tongue numb, but he only numbs the area he's working in. The fillings he put in look great, too, but only time will tell. Hopefully, they'll be good for another 30 years. The only drawback is their insurance is out of network so you do end up paying a bit more than if it was in network. For me, that was an extra 10%.
