Please understand that I do not dislike SLAH enough to change my vet (probably because it's so close to my house) but my major complaint is how condescending and guilt-trippy Dr. Von Trease has been with me SEVERAL times that I've been there. He has really made me feel like an incompetent pet owner on more than one occasion, when I know that my dog is well cared for, if not spoiled.
I've since made an effort only to see Dr. L. She is super and my dog and I are very happy with her.
All the people I spoke to on the phone were lovely, helpful, and friendly, so I was excited about bringing my new kitty to see the vets there. My first visit was terrible-- the vet tech clearly had no idea what I was doing and I was horrified at how he was manhandling my kitten. I know they have to do unpleasant things that cats don't like, but this guy was terrible. The vet was very VERY nice so I calmed down.
At my second visit, while I was waiting in the room with my cat, I could hear (crystal clear) all the vets laughing and talking loudly about sports and about other people's pets behind a closed door and it was just really unprofessional. In addition, when the vet tech came in (a different one) she didn't have my cat's shot records and kept insisting I never turned any in, which I did. Soon after, she realized she was just in the wrong exam room and was talking about someone else's cat. So disorganized.
I'm actually going to call and have them fax over my kitty's medical records so I can take her to a new vet.
i went here because it's close to my house. they seem informed and more than competent. but they went ahead and vaccinated my advanced-age dog (10) which i have since learned is something you want to consider = there are truly such things as adverse vaccine reactions. he died 6 weeks later of lymphoma, which you can read as being strongly correlated to vaccinations in older dogs. it might be a coincidence, or something latent that was just precipitated by the vaccine, but i would have much preferred to make an informed decision. i miss my dog.
We take both of our dachshunds here, and I can't say enough about the friendliness, patience, and responsiveness of their staff. All of the vets have been fantastic, especially Leslie Ragland, who not only responded immediately to an emergency situation we had two weeks ago, but demonstrated a genuine concern and empathy for our situation. Please take your business there!
I will never go back here again.
They were disorganized, and had an inexperienced tech trying to sell me a package deal from a laminated printed sheet. During the hooplah, they gave my little dog his immunizations and five minutes later, a different tech walked in with the same immunizations!!
I went there to get our big dog Heart Guard and Advantix. The whole experience was so chaotic that we left without the one thing we went in to get.
I dig Banfield near Brodie. I can drop off the dogs in the morning for a checkup and pick them up later that day groomed, washed, and happy.
My lil girl pootie went here for her shots and a bad case of diaper rash...long story. The staff here were so friendly and kept me up to date everyday about her health, the schedule, and even the pricing! I saw a couple of girls from Taurus doggie training bringing their pups in as well so that must be a good thing as I have heard so much great feedback about them! I wouldnt take her to any other place!
