1 review for South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation
I swim here on average 4x a week with the master's swim program (a course at LTCC, a long story unto itself), and for 5 or so years thought this was a pretty good pool. Then I swam in a brand new 50 meter pool in Oregon and was ruined....
That said, this facility is ok considering that not much money has been spent on it lately (outside of the new tile entryway - whoo hoo!). There's a few exercise rooms (for jazzercise, yoga and the like), a basketball court I stepped into one time, and a fitness room. Overall the place feels a bit run down, but that could be partly due to the dark wood and linoleum 70's decor.
The 25 yard pool has served me well for years, and is open air from mid-May to mid-October. There's lap swim in the mornings, midday and in the evenings, and the midday period has become really popular of late, so if you're a serious swimmer who doesn't like sharing a lane with etiquette-challenged side strokers, you'd be better off either hitting the masters class or the 8 am lap swim.
