I came here for an Elite Yelper event last night.  The SCR building is beautiful. The dress code is dressy so that was fun. We saw Putting it together. The theater was clean and pristine.

Could parked by my work for free but well heels and walking lol! The parking is $8. All in all good event you can't bring your drink into the theater so drink up.

I came here for an Elite Yelper event.  The SCR building is pretty and definitely a nice date location.  The dress code is dressy-dressy casual.... but definitely no jeans.   We saw The Good Ones and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  The theater was nice and a little on the small side... but it seemed new, and therefore well maintained.  The parking is $8, but you can always be cheap and park at the mall (do not do this if your date is wearing high heels).

I attended the Yelp Elite event Sunday and had a fantastic time!  I had no idea such a jewel of a spot was located so close to the mall madness. The front of the theatre in all its glassy glory is gorgeous!!  The house manager, who makes sure people aren't coming and going in and out of each theatre mid-show was so helpful and, and the musical we saw was AWESOME!  We saw "Putting It Together," and the theatre was small enough to really appreciate the music and hard work behind the production.  My only complaint: no drinks allowed in the theatre!  But all in all, definitely recommend it for a date night or friendly meeting!

This place made me a Lesbian.

........Wait. That's not right.......an Equestrian.

...............Uh.....hold on. Give me a second. I know this one.

I'm not a raging Thespian, but I do read a great deal and though I'm not well versed in acting mechanics and terminology, I DO know that Creon and Oedipus aren't supposed to have leather jackets and machine guns!!!!

Back in the day when I had more books than wrinkles, I came here for an extra credit assignment for a literature course I was taking in classical theater. Our assignment was to watch Antigone and identify as many inconsistencies as we could find with the set.

The same professor also sent us to watch the movie Troy to ID the flood of incongruities set against classical literature and historical fact, but that's another story. Moving on.....

Acting was great and the play was followed well, but leather jackets and machine guns? Glass table tops from IKEA and brandy from a decanter from Kosta Boda? WTF?

It was a great time had by all and despite my strong dislike towards modernizing classical theater, I walked out looking forward to my next return.

The presentation of the Repertory is very open, airy, and modern. Glass walls and bleached white paint add to a comforting hospital sort of feel....in a good way. Ticket windows are generous in size and allow for many patrons at once. Lobby area is long and narrow. It winds around like a bow and during intermission, there are coffees, teas, and alcohol. Yeah, alcohol.

Bathrooms are kept very clean and the general atmosphere of SCP is welcoming in a casually elegant way.

I've been here a number of times over the past few years and have always been pleased with the production quality. My most recent venture as a Yelper rewarded me with an amazing production of The Heiress. I was in awe at the acting and would like to return again and watch The Heiress a second time.

We did not order tickets and were told that we could buy them at the window for $13 each after a $5 discount we had. Arriving 20 minutes before the curtain, we were told that rush tickets were $25 a piece. We looked at each other and wondered if we should return another night after buying tickets online. The young man at the window was very friendly and I guess he felt like helping us so he spoke with his manager and he offered us rush student pricing at $10 each.

Neither of us are students.

Front row, Center. No kidding. $20 for Front row, Center at the last minute. That just made our night and we were both tremendously pleased with the entire event.

Looking around the theater, we noticed that all the people our age were towards the sides and the back. Everyone else immediate to us were at least two and a half times our age. Had we not gotten the discount, our seats would have been over $100 and out of our budget.

It was an amazing evening that originally started off with second thoughts and fatigue. By the middle of the first act, I was awake. By the middle of the second act, I was almost in tears. At the end of the play, there was a standing ovation. My husband also was surprised at how much he enjoyed it and actually wanted to talk about it on the drive home.

Fantastic house of actors. I would like to view The Heiress again, along with several future productions.

Plays seen here:
Antigone
The Heiress
A Christmas Carol
More that I forget because my memory sucks.

Baw! Humbug!

THIS IS A CHRISTMAS SEASON MUST!!!

I go to this place every year in Dec. to see the Christmas Carol play.. They perform here every nov-dec... Scrooge is played by Captain Logan you know, Ted's (Keanu Reeves) dad in the movie Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure! He does the best Scrooge ever!!! This play is hands down the best adaptation of the Christmas Carol. There is never a dull moment and I never get bored of this play I could see it 100 times and everyone I have gone to see this with agrees with me.

The seating here is stadium sitting so you always have a good unblocked view, and the theatre is not overly big it's a very intimate size theatre. This is my favorite theatre to see a play at.. The acoustics here are amazing..

This place is always a great place to people watch because of all the mucky mucks of high society flocking here, some of the stuff they wear and dress up in is just too amazing for words haha. It's pretty funny seeing these people who think they are better then everyone else, its very humorous and it's a little cherry on top of the experience.

GAHhhh! I love this place! SCR is one of my favorite date spots, if I didn't feel completely awkward hitting this place alone I would probably do that as well.

It has the most flawless atmosphere for a theater. As everybody says, A Christmas Carol is a must see. I have seen it twice here and cannot wait to go back and see it again next season. I have also seen a couple other plays here like The Importance of Being Earnest which was pretty funny (past the first act though). You can always buy tickets early or go within the opening week for a great price. I wish I could go here more, but don't attract to many of those types of people in my life that enjoy such things.
Perfect spot for family, friends, or a date of course.

I've seen dozens of shows here through the years and I've always enjoyed my experiences.

I checked out the Argyros Stage for the first time though last night.  It's definitely a very nice space and much bigger than what I would call a "side" stage.

The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of parking lots around.  But for some reason, I decided to park in the Westin lot last night and it turned out to be free since I got there so early and the gates were up when I left.  Hooray!

Went here last week to see Hamlet. I haven't seen many plays, so I don't really have a bar to measure against, but I liked the facilities, and the seats were fairly comfortable. They weren't like modern movie theater seats that can recline or anything (which would probably be odd for a play anyway), but I think they were as comfortable or more than, say, the seats at The Pantages, and significantly more comfortable than the nosebleed seats at Segerstrom Concert Hall.

Student Rush is amazing by the way. If you're a student, show your student ID and you can try for last minute ticket sales and get them for a steal at $10 a piece. We did just that and got 3rd row, center seats. Excellent.

The voices seemed to project pretty well, but then again, I was in the 3rd row. The sound systems were alright, but I wouldn't really expect an amazing sound system at a playhouse.
