Emily did the flowers for my October 2011 wedding. I don't know that much about flowers but I did have a certain vision in mind. I did a cocktail wedding and  I wanted something modern, clean, but whimsical.

I met with another florist and while he was nice he was only going to give me exactly what I asked for rather than designing the flowers. I wanted to see a little more creativity and design in the flowers and Emily was the right person for the job.

Since she's done flowers for my reception venue at Axis Cafe she was able to offer better suggestions on what would work well in the space. Originally I wanted low centerpieces but Axis has high ceilings so she opted for taller centerpieces so that they wouldn't get lost in the space. Emily was willing to work within my budget and offered suggestions on what would give me more bang for my buck such as ensuring there are some flowers at a buffet table or going with hurricane lamps and candles on the fireplace rather than flowers. She appreciated that for the kind of venue it was it didn't need a bunch of flowers to dress it up, just a few key centerpieces.

Emily was able to bring the vision I wanted to life and it was even better than I could've imagined! When I walked into the space that day I couldn't stop thinking how gorgeous the flowers were and how they really enhanced the space. People were coming up to me commenting on the flowers as well. Thanks Emily and SoulFlower!

Emily did the flowers for my October 2009 wedding.  She was super!  I am not one of those people who has had the flowers picked out for my wedding since childhood, and I don't really know flower names beyond rose, carnation, lily, daisy, and tulip.  Emily was a great partner in helping me suss out what I liked and didn't like, and eventually helped put together a very unique, colorful, modern floral motif for my wedding.

We didn't have a large floral budget, and I didn't want to waste a lot of cut flowers, so she was great about working with what we had, and also with coming up with simple strategies to have the most bang for our buck (like stringing gorgeous orchids on the wall behind where our ceremony took place or getting succulents that guests could take home and plant for the centerpieces).

Emily is also very philanthropic, and donates florals to nonprofit organizations, and I so really liked that side of her too.  After meeting with Emily about my wedding, I felt at ease, like I had just hired a friend who was totally on my team and together we were going to make sure the wedding looked amazing.  And it did. Thanks!

I cannot recommend Emily highly enough!  I had no idea what flowers I wanted for my wedding and she helped me find beautiful arrangements for an amazing price!  I researched a ton of florists, all of whom were way more expensive, not as nice/ approachable and frankly not as talented.  Emily is super creative, talented and sweet.

She also gives you an option to look at the flowers and see how everything would look together before the event.  It costs about $100, but I would highly recommend this, as it really gives you an idea of what everything will look like, and lets you change little last minute things, like hair flowers, ribbon color, etc.  I brought some linen and dress samples with me to see how it would all look together.  Although, it wold have looked spectacular either way : )

I can't thank you enough, Emily! Thank you for your beautiful work!

We used Soulflower as our florist for our wedding in Napa this year and we couldn't be happier with our decision.  Emily is such a calming and professional person to deal with during a very stressful experience such as planning a wedding.  My fiance and I met with Emily once in her studio and knew immediately that she was the florist for us.  She is young, creative and has a great eye when it comes to floral design and arrangements.  Emily met us an additional time at our site walk thru and the rest of our correspondence with her was via email.  We always received prompt replies to our emails and she was available anytime we had a question.  The flowers for our wedding came out beautifully and were exactly what we had envisioned.  The flowers were the one thing that everyone remarked on or asked about afterward.  If you need someone to do the flowers for your event use Soulflower, you won't be sorry.

I also have posted reviews for my excellent photographer and makeup artist!

I really love Emily and the work she did for our wedding.
I wanted to find a florist who would work within our limited floral budget, but i still wanted my flowers to pop and make a statement. Emily did it all. From her calm, professional demeanor, to her brainstorming funky, texturized flower ideas, to graciously replying every time I sent her a new favorite dahlia color during the farmer's market runs the summer before our October wedding, Emily took it all in, kept updating our proposal, and worked with me to make it all look fabulous.

Some favorite aspects of our wedding flowers were my bouquet and the rituals she helped me create, as well as our reception arrangements, that tied the ritual and the reception flowers all together. Instead of having an army of bridesmaids, I had my girlfriends line the aisle and each hand me a different colored dahlia, which is the flower of San Francisco. There were about ten different girlfriends awaiting me with huge grins while I walked down with my dad. I highly recommend it! At the end, my bouquet was overflowing with femininity and it made not only my original bouquet stand out, but encircled it with a lot more color and excitement. It was like having two bouquets in one day! (see my photos here attached to review)

What I also loved was that while brainstorming an alternative role for ringbearers, I explained a concept that my husband and I had learned and used from pre-marital counseling: the metaphor of extending an olive branch to say I'm sorry and move on from a disagreement. I told Emily I wanted to use this somehow in the ceremony and she recommended having the boys carry olive branches down the aisle and then later pause during the ceremony to explain this while the boys brought the olive branches up to the altar. This allowed the significance of the ringbearers to remain (something about boys turning into men on the wedding day, signifying the transition for my husband from "boy" to "man"), and then later she incorporated those olive branches into our buffet table arrangement, as well as the arrangement on the bar.

Lastly, I loved how she created two different designs for our centerpieces. I'm not one for "matchy-matchy" flowers and I prefer for things to be different and funky, while also being polished and tasteful. Emily is the best florist for executing this exact thing. She helped me brainstorm flowers to add texture and funk. Plus, I'm now totally enamored with adding texture to my flowers (like I did by adding peacock feathers to my bouquet) as well as the new flower she introduced me to, celosia, which resembles underwater sea coral. I can't get enough of it (plus it lasts weeks in a vase at home!)

Thanks, Emily. You have deep talent and lovely soul!

Emily at Soulflower is an amazing florist and such a pleasure to work with, I cannot recommend her highly enough!    We feel so fortunate to have found Soulflower (thanks to another friend who used her for their wedding).

We used Emily for our May 2011 wedding and were so happy with houw our flowers turned out as well as enjoying the entire process of working with her.  My flowers were beautiful and people are still commenting on how creative they were.  She did several different arrangements that suited our unqiue wedding location beautifully - the colors were perfect, the flowers were all fresh (and lasted several days after) and blooming, and unique.   I kind of new what I wanted but could not articulate it very well, but Emily was able to listen and make suggestions that ultimately turned into amazing flowers that both my husband and I loved.

I also loved working with Emily and her customer service was fabulous.  One of the many examples of this is that Emily knew that I loved peonies but they were not quite in season yet.  However, two days before the wedding, Emily emailed and said that she found some and would it be okay to incorproate into the table flowers - which of course I said yes and was thrilled that she remembered and was happy to change the design to incorporate my favorite flowers.

Our budget was not large, but as others have said, Emily was totally willing to work within it and never made me feel uncomfortable when I gave her my initial estimate.  I also really appreciated how she provided a detailed breakdown of every item and what it cost, so it helped us determine what flowers we wanted.  It was also great to have her helpful recommendations about where it would be good t ohave flowers and where it was a nice to have option and all her recommendations were right on.

I have also taken two of Emily's flower arranging classes and love them.  The second class was a private event that I arranged as a thank you for my bridesmaids.  My bridesmaids loved it and thought it was the perfect thank you gift that gave us all a chance to hang out and get to know each other (some of my bridesmaids did not know each other), be creative and learn something knew. Emily had a fabulous selection of flowers, different vases and a handy guide for us.  We had a blast learning about flower arranging and trying it for ourselves, with Emily's very helpful encouragement.  At the end, we all had beautiful arrangements to take home.

I would give more stars if I could and Soulflower is now our go-to florist.  Thanks Emily!

I took one of her classes for bouquet making, she's very talented and extremely sweet. Also, I'm using her as a consultant for a friend's wedding, she has fabulous ideas, very kind and inspiring with her words as I'm a total florally challenged. I highly recommend her, she has great taste and ideas.

Update on 8/23/11. Post wedding. I have profound new respect for florists. I never thought it would be easy, but I am so thankful that I took the time to consult Emily. Her tips, suggestions helped me tremendously get through the project. It's a lot of work and it turned out beautifully. I'll post pics later.

Emily at Soulflower is an amazing amazing woman who has to be the kindest, most patient & creative florist in the Bay Area.

When I was first recommended to her and made an appointment I braced myself for another florist who would be bored with my vision and laugh at my budget (c'mon times are TOUGH)... not so with Emily!

On our 1st meeting she came to my work (SOMA) during the lunch hour and brought books and books of examples of her work. That alone surprised me as at that point I had met with 10 florists (yea, I KNOW!) and was shocked by the lack of customer service as they totally lost interest after hearing my budget, Emily was such a breath of fresh air because she was able to come up with creative ways to scale back but still have lovely flowers that I would love and my guests would remember.

(And here let me just add that the other vendors I met with were either not professional--ie, took FOREVER to respond to repeated calls and emails -- outdated, had grand visions of cascading bouquets and centerpieces without listening to what I wanted, or just had quirky personalities I couldn't quite see meshing with mine).

I changed my mind 3 times on my primary colours and the whole time Emily was patient and gracious... she was able to read what I was feeling but couldn't express (I just don't understand flower language I guess!) ... I showed her a couple pictures for a general theme/idea and from there she brought my vision to life!

When I arrived to the ceremony on D-Day I SCREAMED. My bouquet was AWESOME- sexy, feminine, unique with so much personality - (deep red/burgandy calla lilies, chocolate cosmos and peacock feathers) ... gosh, it's been over 1+ month already and I'm still tearing up at the memory. This sounds weird but I wanted to eat the darn thing (has that feeling ever happened to another bride? Man, I must have problems...or maybe I was really hungry since I'd been dieting for months, ha!) .

The bridal bouquets were darling- I requested mini bouquets that were fresh & light but still managed to tie into mine (she more than pulled that tough feat off my incorporating the chocolate cosmos in there).

The corsages for the Mom's were also a hit- we requested traditional and they loved that magnets were used instead of scary pins so they could safely secure them to their dresses without fear of poking themselves (yes, this is hugely important, TRUST ME).

The centerpieces were STUNNING- fresh & organic, she incorporated the different textures I had requested, mums, the brown tea leaves, the fantastic manzanita tree with little white tea lights... For days I dreamed about the flowers and wish I could've brought them with me to our mini-moon in Mexico a few days later.

To anybody who believes that a florist is just another florist, I challenge you to meet with Emily at Soulflower. I, too, thought that was the case but definitely not so anymore. I never knew flowers could evoke such a range of emotions from me- joy, passion, hope, peace... and I truly believe Emily is the reason behind that.

I cannot recommend Emily enough and wholeheartedly give her at least 10 stars!! Thank you Emily for all your incredible work, we're so lucky to have you here... I wish I could do it all over again! :) :) :)

Can floral arranging get ANY better than the creative work Emily provides with Soulflower?  I have featured her arrangements for an event and ongoing at my office in the Castro and people could not stop saying how much it lighted up our space. Cant spend lots of money renovating or getting new furniture for your office like we couldnt? Emily is your solution!

Soulflower is going to go FAR because they are innovative and are respectful of the ever important green movement.  They create pieces that use materials and supplies that are eco-friendly (say goodbye to flower foam!) and even offer a redirection service of day old arrangements from events to local hospices and shelters.

EVERYONE - dont even think about using that infamous 800# to get a trashy bouquet of old body roses.  Buy local and buy green with Emily!

Emily created the designs for my wedding and I could not be happier. The arrangements were gorgeous, simultaneously dramatic and organic. We received numerous compliments.

Emily is very professional and creative. She handled all my changes with such grace and nailed the centerpieces at the first trial. I can't wait for another excuse to have her create something for me.

I've ordered arrangements from Soulflower on several occasions: for my wife, as a professional show of gratitude, and in two clinic spaces (one of which is a weekly account). I have never been disappointed, and in fact, they have consistently exceeded every possible expectation. They're always on time, the flowers are the freshest available, and they are incredibly affordable.

And their work...well, you don't know floral design until you've seen Soulflower.

Impeccable arrangements of color and texture are just the starting point. Soulflower creates works of art--veritable botanical sculptures to be admired slowly. Soulflower transcends the mundane by using unexpected choices (like spiraling leaves, or cabbages (!)), but without being meretricious or ostentatious.

Only one caution: once you've had a Soulflower arrangement transform an environment, it won't ever be the same, and when the arrangement goes, you'll feel like you're missing something of true beauty. But don't worry, the next arrangement will be--stunningly--even more beautiful.

Emily Dreblow created the lovely floral arrangements for our wedding in September. I actually was introduced to her talents before looking for a florist for the wedding because I had seen the arrangements she did for a work-related event. I liked that she was community-oriented and worked with several non-profits, so I reached out to her once we had chosen a wedding venue (the Limn Gallery in SF) to see if we were a good fit. The minute I met her to tour the venue (and grab a drink afterwards), I was convinced that Emily's low-key style, natural approach, and keen eye were the perfect combination - I never contacted another florist.

Our vision for our wedding morphed a bit throughout the process, and Emily never batted an eye when our colors, budget, and preferences shifted. She was clear about when she needed to know the final details, but she allowed us the flexibility to change things along the way. She was great about working with me to get the cost down to what our budget allowed without compromising any of the quality of her work.

I am not one for big poofy floral displays, and our modern venue required something different than traditional wedding flowers. Whereas other wedding vendors might have questioned some of our non-traditional choices, Emily was always excited by our creative ideas. The succulent centerpieces Emily created were phenomenal, and the best part of all is that our guests got to take home a memento of the event - some guests even took the succulents back to the East Coast with them (I would have probably done this too, if I were an East Coast-dwelling guest at my own wedding)! My bouquet, the boutonnieres, the other arrangements, and the chuppah décor were all perfectly suited to our tastes - somehow, Emily managed to channel our vision precisely without us even having an exact sense of how all of these things should look.

I wholeheartedly recommend Emily and Soulflower Floral Design - she is talented, down-to-earth, and a wonderful person to have on your side during an important event.

Emily was very considerate of our budget and offered suggestions of how to stretch our budget with less pricey flowers & options for every detail. I felt that Emily and I were in sync with the vision of Narnia winter wonderland for my wedding and she really made that vision come to life with the floral arrangements!

Emily did the flowers for our wedding last Fall. She was great to work with (creative, professional, and a sweetheart). I would highly recommend her.

I remembered the beautiful flowers from a friend's wedding a couple of years ago and learned that Emily was the florist. We met and I was very impressed with the pictures that she showed me. She listened to my ideas and provided great feedback and details. I appreciated how she worked with our budget and even provided input on details outside of the flowers, such as suggesting lanterns to put around the fireplace at the site and the color of the linens.

The flowers were even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I was very pleased and would highly recommend the team at Soulflower.

Emily was great to work with.  She came up with creative ideas to work with my budget (like doing just half the tables with large centerpieces and the other half with something smaller).  She was patient with my lack of direction and vision and eventually got me there, just a week before!   The altar arrangements were probably my favorite as well as the pew bows.  She suggested the splash of color at the reception which was definitely the right call. Very professional, responsive and reasonable.  Thank you Emily!

Emily and her team did the flowers for my wedding and knocked it out of the park!! First of all, Emily is incredibly buttoned up, patient, and professional -- and as a stressed out bride, I appreciated how on top of things she was. She was sensitive to my budget, and went out of her way (I mean beyond the call of duty in a couple if instances!!) to help ensure all details were handled appropriately.

On top of that, she is incredibly talented and has a great aesthetic. My bouquets were more beautiful than I could have imagined and the table arrangements were absolutely stunning. To save money, I was going to purchase orchid arrangements from a vendor in the Flower Market, but Emily convinced me to have her handle them instead. Man, am I glad I did that. Not only was it was one less headache for me to deal with, but the arrangements were incredible. People are still talking about them.

    Such a talent, all around.

My wife Annie dealt with Emily the entire process and I just wanted to relay how highly my wife spoke of Emily.

She came recommended from Tracy Auseklis (Buttercream Studio) and so she was our first phone call.  We didn't need to make another.  Annie was so impressed and felt really comfortable with Emily that I didn't need to be arm-twisted.  Here floral arrangements we're fantastic and we're currently drying out all the flowers as she created them because they were simply beautiful.  Emily was reliable, professional and has great taste. We were really pleased.

I can't thank her enough for being so kind and easy to work with (per my wife).  I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have a beautiful wedding - M

Soulflower created increadible arrangements for my wedding that were original and memorable. My bouquet and the larger arrangements were gorgeous.

My only dissapointment was that there were roses in the arrangements on the guest tables which I specifically asked for there not to be. I had asked for bold lime green, purples, and magenta and got red roses, winter green, and white. They were beautiful, just not what I had asked for. Looking back I probably should have seen a mock-up design beforehand.

But that said the flowers were still gorgeous.

I got married about 3 weeks ago and Emily from SoulFlower Designs took care of the flowers and ambient lighting. This was not an easy task as we were married at the Log Cabin in the Presidio. If you're not familiar with this building, it's very dark with little build-in lighting. She did the most INCREDIBLE job. I walked into the room and it was absolutely gorgeous. Numerous people commented on the centerpieces (which were exactly what I wanted) during the reception.

Without Emily's wonderful listening skills, attention to detail, and creative intuition, our wedding would not have been as perfect as it was. She was in charge of the ambiance and she nailed it. It doesn't hurt that she's also really easy to talk to, full of great ideas, and reasonably priced. She also knows how to get creative to stay within a budget! I'd give her more stars if I could.

We only met once to go through everything and she came through with flying colors. On the wedding day, she delivered all of our personal flowers in beautiful boxes. Most of all, she and her staff set up our huppah in very windy weather and stayed longer than expected to ensure it wouldnt fly away. All of her work was just spectacular and added a subtle beauty and sophisticaiton to the event. I continue to enjoy the flowers in my home and only wish I could have flowers from her every day! Emily is a joy to work with and I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Emily did an INCREDIBLE job at our wedding this past weekend. Within one appointment she was able to nail down the exact style that I had envisioned but could not verbalize. From our bouquets to the exquisite centerpieces we were surrounded by immense creativity and beauty .

First things first, Emily of Soulflower is freaking fabulous.  She really listened to my ideas and then was able to take them to the next level.  During our first meeting I described my wedding style as laid back, quirky, sweet, yet sexy with a diy vibe and a heart theme.  She then came up with the idea of using gerbera daisies cut into hearts as center pieces!  She was also able to make the most amazing boutonnieres for my groom and his groomsmen.  And when I say amazing I mean amazing, there was Yoda for my groom,  a lego Kobe Bryant for the officiant, a stock market bull for his best man and Larry Bird for his father. She did a great job on my bouquet as well as my moms she even made the sweetest flower pomander for my sister. She was able to work with my budget by using large flowering branches to give our wedding location lots color with out breaking our bank.  She was a joy to work with and I feel lucky to have been able to.

I've met with several florists for my small wedding, even ones who have been published in many magazines, and Emily was the only one who listened and understood what we were trying to achieve.  She works with all budgets, unlike others who scoff at small weddings (I guess no business is better than small jobs in this current economy).  Emily was absolutely wonderful and a breath of fresh air.  She is friendly, easy to work with and dependable.  The bridal bouquet was absolutely beautiful!  It's tough planning a wedding on my own, so those few vendors who really come through (and let me tell you there's not a lot) are the ones who stand out and shine.

I used Soulflower for my October rehearsal dinner. They designed exquisite, unique, fall-themed pieces for the tables and created an overall warm, beautiful setting. I was very impressed with how creative, original, well priced and easy to work with they were. Highly recommend!
