WOW,
How do I describe this place? Across the street from a pony keg (awesome), no one below 65 dining in there (double awesome), piano player WITH seating around him (triple awesome).
The food is average: I had parmesan chicken which was about $14 but you had a huge plate of spaghetti and two breasts of chicken. The spaghetti was kind of what you'd get at a dining hall, and the wine list was not stellar and the waitress (who was prob 16) said Peroni was a dark beer, but the atmosphere was great!
Just go to go and have fun. The music is great, the people are really nice, and even though the food is average, you get huge portions.
This Italian restaurant is right down the hill from where I went to high-school.
Whenever our school had a need to treat students to fancy dinners (high achievers, student ambassador programs, etc.) they took us down to Sorrento's during our lunch hour or after-school for dinner.
I was a bit of a brown-noser in high-school so I got to participate in a number of these trips. Sorrento's is wanna-be fancy, with it's dressy wait staff and white table-cloths, but its in the middle of a mostly blue-collar area, so that genre doesn't work for them.
My all-time favorite food at Sorrento's is the "half and half" with ravioli and spaghetti. All dinners are served with side salads and bread.
Sorrento's offers non-Italian dishes like steak and chicken, but it's claim to fame is its pasta!
