I love this place- I'm an East Coast Italian kid living in a West Coast Italian world and this place makes me happy. Everything I have ever ordered from this place is good- the pizza (try the Quatro Formaggio) the grinders (try the roast beef) the pasta (try the chicken parm with rose sauce) the apps (the wings, humms, pepperoni knots...all good), the desserts (chocolate cannoli in Seattle? Thank you!)

I have never eaten at this place, only had delivery, but I've had the delivery A LOT- the whole family loves this place- the service is great, you can order on line, the food is spectacular, the prices are reasonable.

I'm not going to lie here- I found Sopranos because I HATE Romios- Romios was the only game in town for a while and they knew it- they screwed up EVERY order I ever placed with them- so out of spite (or my tendency to hold a Sicilian grudge) was born a relationship that has grown along with my waistline. Thank you Sopranos- you may not be my Ma's sunday gravy, but you are a fine surrogate till my next trip home.

Check out their website. On the "Delivery Area" page it reads:
"Soparano's DELIVERS TO THESE AREAS:
West to Puget Sound, East to I-5, North to 130th NW and South to the Ship canal."
My home falls within the parameters:
I live East of Puget Sound, West of I-5 (by about 3 blocks), South of 130th NW (55th Street), and North of the Ship canal bridge (by about 12 blocks)..........
But, for some reason, when I placed my order online, a not-very-friendly person called to inform me that I am not within their delivery area. I politely let her know that I am,  according to the delivery area listed on their website, she said "It doesn't say that and we won't deliver!" Then hung up.
Hmmm. how disappointing.

So... the pizza really isn't my style.
And the place isn't my scene.

But I will say that they do exactly what I envisioned they'd do with dough and meat here last night, so I really can't complain too much.

I'd been driving by Soprano's forever and since we were in the mood to try something different last night, we thought we'd give it a go. If you've got family and you need okay food, reasonable prices, and a child friendly restaurant, you'll find that all here.

The beer selection is pretty good, with a variety of bottles and Mac 'n' Jack's on Tap. We started with their half antipasto salad, which was fine. meat, cheese, tomatoes, vinegarette. It was again exactly what we expected it to be. It came with your standard garlic bread.

We went with the Matador, which was exactly what they said it'd be on the menu, it just wasn't anything special. Chicken, meatballs, jalepenos, tomatoes, pesto with a weird sour cream thing going on.

The service was fine. The bill was $26.

For a beer, a big salad, some garlic bread and a medium pizza, we thought it was a pretty good deal.

In search of plain jane, okay, family friendly food in the 'llard (because hey- sometimes that's what works), go here. It's exactly that.

Understand first of all that there IS no super-yum, world-class pizza in Seattle.  You're tripping into mythology there.  Sure, there are expensive attempts at it, all grossly overrated by hopeful foodies that may think "If I pay enough and give them enough stars on Yelp, maybe one day they'll live up to...y'know...human expectations."  Bah.  Curb your enthusiasm - there is no curse-breaking kiss from any handsome prince forthcoming, least of all from Soprano's.

That said, the first couple of bites I've ever had of ANY of their creations have made me smile.  :)  Oh, the hope!  "WOW...this is way better than I remember!"  But there's something wrong with the cheese; if you don't eat it quickly, it turns very nasty very fast.  I have no idea why this is so.  I just know that a pizza from Soprano's is best shared with LOTS of people so it's consumed before it gets cold.

That said, it ain't bad, especially the first two pieces, fresh and hot and thoroughly competent.  Further, way worth mentioning in current economic times, their prices are quite reasonable for what you get.  Further, I just got a mass-mailing from them with a coupon for free ribs  with the order of any medium or large pizza so I thought, "What the hell?"...and surprise surprise, the ribs are OMGNOMNOMNOMNOM!  'Cept I really don't know what to do with this even-more-than-usual leftover pizza now.  Damn.  I think instead of delivery next time I'll go the restaurant, have some beer on tap and their excellent ribs.  Pizza, schmizza. ~

So, I think this place has better delivery then dine-in according to the reviews. We recently gave this place a chance (we already have our favorite pizza places). I'm really glad we ordered from them..

Pros:
1- FAST delivery. The lady said 30 minutes and the guy showed up in 25 mins (he would have been there sooner if he hadn't had to drive back and get our salad that he forgot).

2- Price - actually reasonable. We ordered a large pizza, caesar salad, and cheese bread and it was around $30 before tip.

3- Option to order on-line. We didn't try this option but it looks like it's popular and the service is just as prompt.

Cons:
The pizza was a little salty. Granted it was the meat lovers, but my tongue was feeling like it had been dipped in a bowl of salt.

We would try this place again for sure.  I do already have my favorites, but I will definitely order from them again but it sounds like we won't be dining there according to other reviews which is fine by us since we order delivery pizza most often. =)

Nice little neighborhood pizza place/italian restaurant.  Pizza is delicious every time we come, ranks up there with our favorite choice of pizza in Seattle.  The service is not outstanding but its good.  You never really have to wait for seating.    I like how you can go in there in sweats like after a ball game or just as well you could go in a little dressy.  Never have to fight for parking.

I really wanted to like this place, as I REALLY want to like any pizza place that is close to my house, but I'm pretty sure I could make better pizza than this place. We've tried it twice and I think that the "Soprano's" name is misleading. I've been to Jersey and this is not NY or NJ pizza.  The prosciutto is not prosciutto, but big chunks of ham, not thinly sliced prosciutto. Service is okay--I actually don't remember it being particularly good or bad.

Redeemers: garlic knots and it's kid friendly.

FRUSTRATED!!!!!!
I ordered via online on 10/03/2008 and today I looked at my bank statement and guess what?? Those BASTARDS charges me twice! Yes, it is true. When I called them to tell them I needed my 30.00 back the women who answered the phone said "I will look into it and call you back in a few days" Well a few days and looking into it isn't good enough. I need my money back now! Well, I called my bank and disputed the charge I am not waiting on them to jerk me around.

My husband and I came for Valentine's Day and LOVED IT!  The pizza is one of the best and although I didn't care for the alfredo, my husband was in heaven.  We had the meat trio pizza!
Excellent service - the girls and friendly.  Fairly relaxed casual atmosphere hidden in Ballard.

Yay, they delivered on time. Aside from that, the only reason I finished my whole pizza was because I was hammered. The pizza was TERRIBLE, the black olives couldn't help dress up this disaster. Plus, the Russians running the joint apparently don't understand what "please call my cell, do not use the call box, it's broken" means.

Been to Soprano's twice and I wouldn't mind another time.  Food: On both occasions I've been unadventurous and ordered a chicken ravioli dish.  The sauce is better than average, and there's more than enough for leftovers.  The garlic bread is really good.  I wish they  didn't put cheese (mozzarella) on the side salads though.  I should probably try the pizza.

Beverages: Nice selection of wine and beer, including Mac & Jack.

Service: Haven't had the troubles that plague other Yelpers.  First time there were about 3 waitresses, all bleached blondes (just an observation, believe me I've nuthin against fake blondes) speaking Italian.  No one was overly nice, but not rude.  We came shortly before they closed and they sat us, though the next people in the door were forced to do takeout.  My dining companion was sure that the place is run by the mob, BTW. On my last visit the waitress was such a sweetheart.   Zero complaints!  I wish the screaming child had been tamed by its parents, but what can ya do?

I just finished my first pizza from Soprano's, delivered to me extremely fast.  I tried this place out due to the reviews on here.  I ended up ordering the Chevre Macedonian, and what I got was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in my life.  Seriously, I found it to be that good.  The toppings were fresh and tasty, and the crust was just the right amount of crispiness.  I just wish the pizza was bigger!  I'll definitely be ordering from this place again.

The only negative I could possibly give Soprano's is the somewhat sassy girl who took my order over the phone.  It's not that big a deal to me though, so I'm fine with it.

Soprano's is a good neighborhood restaurant in an area that doesn't have many choices. Personally, I am a believer in flat, crisp pizza so Soprano's pizza isn't quite my cup of tea but theirs isn't a thick crust either. I can easily appreciate it for what it is, a good tasting pie. Also, call me old fashioned but I like a well constructed iceberg salad at times and their "house salad" is very tasty!

Complaints?  Their house red wine is not very good.  Stick to beer or order a bottle.  Other than that I can't think of any.

I have eaten there a couple of times recently and have been impressed with the service. One visit was with a 2 year old and they made many efforts to keep him happy such as bringing him a some treats and milk. This is a sign of a neighborhood place and it is appreciated.

I'll admit I've only had the pasta from here, but its really not that bad.

Some nights are better then others, and most of the time I place a pick up order because the girls that work there aren't that friendly. One of the few places I've found that has gnocchi, which I love. There's isn't bad, but I've realized I can make exact same dishes at home pretty easy. Good bread sticks and such. The boyfriends mother had the pizza from here when we went the other night and said it was really good.

So all in all good simple place (pretty cheep too!) if that's what your looking for, but nothing that jumps out as being amazing.

Good pizza some of the better I have had in Seattle. The Pizza has really good crust perfectly cooked to a golden brown, and covered with toppings. The service was somewhat slow, but the pizza pie was right on the money, and not too much money either. I would recomened the Drunken Goat Pizza and the not so garlicly garlic knots, mmmm....

Looks like they have some pretty good pasta, I will definatly try to come back soon to try it out.

Maybe we got them on a very bad night!? Great place for single guy to eat!

Possibly this is the place for takeout- because our waitress and all wait staff observed- all blonde's, all Russian, dressed tightly and more interested ( No lie here )in texting or checking on cell phones & talking FOREVER to every man or male customer who leans over the cashier desk to ogle at them! This gets old when waiting for any service or service with a small smile.
No I am not a jealous old bag wife or really even care about this~ had we not sat forever with out service, menus, our drinks- then had awful food. My husband a calzone- he reported was worst he has had, and myself baked spaghetti so overcome by cheese- it was nauseating.
I asked for the check and boxes, because of course..........they were busy with talking to men/checking cell phones.
Yikes!- we took it home and threw all left overs away - as both my husband and I felt stomach sick on the drive home.
Sorry guys, maybe they do great on take out- or just bad night- but so not worth a second trip!!

Postives- bread knots or whatever - good!
Negs- about all else.

Best pizza I've had in Seattle.

Now that I've got your attention, I'll add: but not the best pizza I've ever had.  Probably not in the top three.  Top five though?  Yeah.  Maybe.

It has all the pieces done right.  Crust, Sauce, Cheese, Toppings.
Pizza is so deceptively simple.  But really, if one of those are off, it ruins the whole pie.  Sopranos does each just fine, not perfect, but really quite well done and tasty.

A bit expensive, but welcome to the world of non-chain pizza.  Also, they've got coupons on their website. (Yay for coupons!)

We always order delivery from Soprano's when we're in the mood for pizza, simply because you can order online!  I absolutely love that feature.  We can place our entire order online (and make any changes to the toppings, etc. that we want - VERY user-friendly) and *poof*, about a half-hour later there's a nice gentleman ringing the doorbell carrying online-ordered-delivery-pizza nirvana.

As for the product itself, it is the closest I've come to the Philly pizzerias that I truly miss.  No stromboli, but the calzone (House, no ricotta, sausage or red onion) comes steaming hot, stuffed to the rafters with pepperoni and fresh ingredients, and with a good-sized side of marinara for dipping.  Mmmmmmmm, if I were a cat I'd be purring.

My beau orders the closest thing to a Greek pizza, and has it pimped out with a thin crust - for both of us, we have enough left over to eat for lunch the next day.  The green salad is typical, a big portion of iceberg lettuce with tomatoes and shredded mozzarella on top.  What I appreciate is that they give you two containers of Italian dressing, because for those of us who like it saucy, there's nothing good about a dry salad.

Soprano's has beat out the delivery competition for us simply because of the online ordering.  It is convenience to the extreme!

The Pizza al Prosciutto I ordered made me feel nauseous and I rarely feel this way after eating.  I thought I was having an off-night, so I had some leftovers the next day.  Again, nauseous.  Hmmm, maybe it's the prosciutto.  I took off the prosciutto for the next round of leftovers and this time didn't feel nauseous.

Well, good I figured out the cause, but this pizza wasn't that good anyway.  Just seemed like run-of-the-mill pizza to me even though the specialty pizzas they have are interesting.  The garlic knots were OK, a little soggy even.

Back to the pizza: the prosciutto wasn't the kind I was used to in thin strips, it was large chunks of ham (in fact, called "prosciutto ham" on the menu).  Unless I'm missing something, the pizza should have been called Pizza al Nausea Ham.

I love this place. The food is much higher quality than your average pizza place and their website makes on-line ordering a breeze! I have never been there or talked to them on the phone and I adore them for it!

I will admit, the pizza is not my favorite, but it is good...but the pasta OH THE PASTA! The Gnocchi Gorgonzola and Tortellini Rose are my 2 favorites. The pepperoni rolls on the appetizer menu are my sons fav as well....pizza dough rolled up and STUFFED with pepperoni, cheese, and a tiny bit of sauce...I order these instead of their pizza.

YUM YUM YUM!

Deep dish pizza with lots of cheese and the perfect amount of sauce.  The crust is good enough to be eaten alone!  The pasta and salads (greek salad = yum)  are also good, and don't sleep on the appetizers...I recommend the tzatziki and cheese bread.

My usual order:
Cheese pizza with alfredo sauce
greek salad
tzatziki

And then I am stuffed to the gills and have to work out for days before I even think about looking at food again.

I think that the secret of this place is the cheese.  The cheese is amazing.  When you order goat cheese on a pizza here, you are in for a serious treat.
Sopranos is the place to go for enormous plates of pasta and yummy, greasy pizza with any topping combination you can dream up.  Sopranos is reasonably priced, considering the large portion size, but the service is inconsistent...a small blight on a cheesy gem.

Pretty Good, Soprano's!
First time, going in to your restaurant, we had dough-y pizza- like it had not been cooked long enough...and we had ordered the BBQ chicken pie-  dry chicken, but tasty sauce!

But tonight-
I wanted to give another chance, and ordered a Pepperoni with the monthly special (half ceasar salad)-  It got to my door in under 30 minutes, the Pepperoni is GIGANTIC!!!  The cheese tasted great, and the SALAD was HUGE-  (with 2 containers of dressing- YAY!)

I'm a new fan, now-  Delicious!  Thanks!

I feel so fortunate to live in Ballard - home of Soprano's Pizza.  They are on my cell phone speed dial, making the call on the way home from work that much easier.  I never believed that any pizza restaurant could unseat Pagliacci as my favorite pizza, but Soprano's now holds the title.

The pizza is innovative and tasty.  I especially enjoy Lachlan and Leo's favorite - spinach and sunflower seeds with a red sauce and strips of pepperoni.  Delish!

The gnocci in gorganzola sauce is decadent and amazing.  The newly-added spinach salad is huge and inexpensive.  They'll even deliver a six-pack of soda for $3.99 - cheaper than 7-11.

The staff who answer the phone have always been happy and helfpul, and the service is even better now that they have the technology to recognize your home telephone number.  The delivery guys are fast and professional.

Don't believe them when they say your order will be delivered in 45 minutes; I have never waited longer than 20 minutes.

Viva Sopranos!

Well, two stars is being somewhat kind, but I'd like to hope that the two times we tried them were off days. Local friends have raved about this place, but my hubby and I just can't go again, even if it is close and somewhat reasonably priced.

The food was mediocre at best. The first time we went, we opted to try full meals instead of pizza. We thought that may have been our first mistake. The chicken dish I got was almost inedible, with tough, dry chicken smothered in sauce that was bland and tasteless. The cheese on top of the meal was touted as mozzarella, but was a more creamy, melted brie type of look to it. Perhaps a greek cheese? No matter, it was pretty awful.  My husband's pasta dish was dry and tasteless. It was as if the chef forgot to season our meals.

The next time we went, we ordered pizza, figuring that maybe that's what they do best. Often an excellent pizza place will make mediocre pasta, but outstanding pizza. Well, that theory didn't pan out here. The pizza was kinda chewy, kinda flat-tasting and not worth the price.

And then there was the service. The first time we visited, the service was not memorable, either good or bad.  But our second visit, there were no other people in the restaurant, and our waitress was positively SURLY. Probably having a bad day, I would guess, but heck, please don't take it out on me.

So, we still continue our search for local, reasonable and tasty Italian food!

Overall a pretty so-so experience. On-line ordering is great if you're socially awkward but probably takes longer than just picking up the phone. Delivery time was fantastic - both times I ordered the food arrived very quickly.

The pizza is at best average. I like that they don't go too crazy with the toppings the way some places do. Unfortunately, they are bit heavy handed with the cheese. Some people like this but I found it to be too much and the resulting pizza was a bit too greasy for my tastes. The red sauce was very thin on both of my orders and when you factor in the mountain of cheese it was almost hard to tell if there was any sauce. The crust was decent but nothing special.

Overall, I didn't like it as much as Pagliacci, Jet City or Amante (my current delivery fave)

I've only ever had delivery from here, but it is GOOD.  I'm partial to the Pizza al Proscuitto.  The tarfuto desserts are DELISH.  Not so much a fan of the appetizer (garlic knots) and salad (caprese) that I've had, but the pizza is great.  Delivery is within the time given (45 minutes) and delivery drivers are polite.  Pizza comes warm and the dessert's not melted.  That's a huge plus in my book.

Well I have eaten at Sopranos for several years and have always been satisfied with there food. Unfortunately they either have changed owners or cooks. The last few times we were their the food was not so great.last night we went and the food was awful, there was bread and food  all on the floor and no one seemed to clean it up.There was enough staff. The bread that was served to us was like left overs or the end of the bread. The waitress left without giving us our check.,we waited for someone to give us our check no one came,we finaley went up to the cash register. It was a mess we will not go back. Abusiness is as only as good as the employees and at the rate there going their buiness will drop off unless people like to eat in a pig pen.

I've only eaten in the restaurant once, which was a good experience. This review is mostly for their delivery. Whever I want pizza delivered I order from here or Pizza Passion, depending on which kind I want. Sopranos does big, greasy, cheesey yummy pizzas. My two favorites are the Chevre Macedonian (sun dried tomatoes and melty gobs of goat cheese) and the Marshall's Polo (gorganzola, chicken, and capers). Their other food is good too. I like the pasta with rose sauce. Their service is conistent, about 45 minutes for delivery. Definately recommended.

Pizza-wise, meh....

We went after the dinner rush, and got sat at about 6:50PM or so.  We had a short wait while they cleaned up a table for our party of 5.  After being sat and our water glasses were filled.  Then we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our waitress to come back to take our order.  Once we placed our order the service rocked, the fresh baked garlic bread was served, our drinks were brought along with our salads...then....we waited...and waited and....well you get the picture.

For a place with no other customers coming in, serving 1 other table that sat just before us and 1 take out order, I wasn't sure what the hold up was.  By the time our dinner was served most of the other tables had cleared out.  Our order consisted of 2 small pizzas and 2 pasta dishes, nothing special yet the kitchen sure did take their own sweet time putting our order up.  Once we got our dinners my better half's pasta dish smelled unusually sour, very distinctly like a rotten towel.  When we complained the waitress blamed it on the Feta cheese on the dish, after voicing our resistance to accepting the dish she offered to take it back and asked if my wife wanted to see the menu again.  My wife ordered another pasta dish, which the waitress noted as "only" taking 8 minutes to make.  Sometime later, I'd guess a time zone change was in order, as those 8 minutes lasted a lot longer than that, the dish was served and it seemed fine.

While we waited, without refills to our waters or soda, I was slightly surprised that once we sent the original sour smelling pasta dish back, our waitress did kick it up a notch.  Offering refills to our drinks and our bread basket.

Overall the meal was just, well meh.  The pizza was on their "thin" crust which ended up making it soggy and non-plus in the flavor/texture department.  I had ordered a "Drunk'n Goat" goat cheese pizza, it ended up being drenched in too much mozzarella and a few bits of goat cheese.  The red peppers were thinly sliced but I think they forgot to put the garlic on.  I couldn't taste the tomato sauce and the entire thing was just too greasy for me.  The other pizza, while covered in toppings, it too was just topped with too many toppings for the size of the crust, which was lost in the mix, and made for a sloppy soggy mess.  The pasta dishes were good, the Cannelloni was a bit dry but tasted good, the Soprano's special pasta was solid.

While we waited for our food the table next to us had the same type of wait for their check.  Timing was a bit mixed up between the waitress and the kitchen.  Personally, being a former bus-boy, I think the bus-boy here, should have been working on re-filling waters and cleaning tables more than socializing with the other waitresses.

Overall....meh....

Ordered pizza last night "to go".  Got it home and it was awful.  It hardly had any cheese on it, even though I ordered two different kinds (we like cheese), and the rest of the ingredients were extremely sparse.  The crust was tasteless, too.Never again.  We used to like this place, but it's gone downhill over the past few months.  We kept giving them one more try, but after last night, never again.

This place is sub par. I ordered the drunken goat since it had goat cheese, not impressed at all. Maybe I just hit it on an off day. It's close to home, and I'm sure I'll go again.

Big, juicy, heavy pizza.  Don't be distracted by the siren song of a pasta dish, it's just not as good.  Eat-in is pleasant, or they'll bring your pie to you and you can stay in your couch groove.

Sopranos has glorious calzones the size of your head and provides at least 2-3 meals, unless you want to eat it all and become immobile the rest of the day. I haven't had the pizza yet, I'll try it next time. However, I ordered the white spaghetti and was somewhat disappointed. It was really oily and I think had too much basil. Though it tasted more like pine nuts to me. For some reason I didn't like it and I couldn't finish it. The service is okay, when its not busy though and there's only one server it can be kind of slow which is surprising. If I love the pizza, I'll change my review to a 4 asap.

Good food, easy to order ONLINE! and delivers!  The food is as expected for a joint like this.  The garlic knots seem great but really not worth it.  We did not order pizza but all the pasta was quite good.

This is a great little Italian joint in Ballard famous for its... well, everything.  The staff is always friendly and the service is quick.  Try the Gorgonzola Gnocchi or the Red and White Spaghetti... yum yum!  If you have a big appetite, have the Garlic Knots for an appetizer (freshly baked pizza dough knots stuffed with garlic) but beware: after a few of these and your salad, it will be tough to finish the main course!

Best pizza in Seattle.  The garlic knots rock.  The pepperoni is cooked just right.  You can't go wrong here.

Oh wow! This place is seriously good! It's been on my list of places to try pretty much since we moved nearby, over a year ago. We finally got around to trying it tonight, mainly because one of my co-workers also lives nearby and said the food here is awesome. I felt we had put off coming here long enough. Erik and I started with an order of the garlic knots. Mmmmm, yummy. They were served warm with a side of marinara topped with Parmesan. The knots themselves were perfectly sized, about two bites each and were just the right amount of doughy. Oh yeah, they were so good. Though I'm not looking forward to waking up with that pungent garlic taste in my mouth, that's not the fault of Soprano's. I felt the $5.50 for the garlic knots was just right. For dinner, we ordered a small Meat Lover's pizza. OMG, it was awesome!! The description said it had bacon bits on it, and while I knew it wouldn't be "Bacon Bits" like what you get in the condiment section at the store, I didn't think it would be large chunks of the most delicious bacon I've had in a long time. Ohhhh, bacon, how I love you. The cheese was fresh and delicious, as were the other toppings. No processed meats on this pizza. Our small Meat Lover's pizza was $11.45, a lot less and a whole lot better than a Meat Lover's at say, Pizza Hut. We ordered a small because we were both looking forward to ordering our own dessert. We usually never order dessert, we're just not really dessert people, but Erik was sold on the Peanut Butter Panic and I was really looking forward to the Double Fudge Frenzy. These are both ice cream desserts and they are both so delicious.  Erik's was very peanut buttery and mine was very chocolaty. Each of our desserts was $3.99. With our meal we ordered a pitcher of the pilsener for $11. They were out the Scuttlebutt that was listed on the menu, but that's ok, our pilsener was pretty tasty. The service we received was fantastic! The girl who took our order was very sweet and very helpful. She seemed let down when she informed us the Scuttlebutt we wanted to order had been replaced by another brew, we assured her it was all good. She was prompt in seating us and taking our orders and bringing us our food. She never seemed annoyed or put off by serving us. While this shouldn't be surprising, and you would hope it would be the norm wherever and whenever you dine out, it rarely is. The few times I've eaten at another Greek-like Italian restaurant (shh, Romio's) , there is one girl who seems so pissed off to be working there, making me seem like I'm putting a major crimp in her evening. I get the same service from that same girl when I call an order in for delivery. I pretty much hate calling Romio's for delivery because of that one girl. With that said, if you live in the Ballard/Crown Hill/Greenwood area, when you're craving delicious pizza, definitely give the kind folks at Soprano's Pizza a call--or head in for a delightful dinner out.
