I will have to update my review once we receive our bridesmaid dresses, but my sister and I went to Sophia's in mid-November (by appt.) and had a wonderful experience. I am blanking on the girl's name who helped us, but she was incredibly sweet, assisting my sister try on several wedding dresses in the style she requested, asking pointed, specific questions to figure out what my sister liked.
They didn't have a LOT of choices, but everything they did have was clearly hand picked and many of the gowns were beautiful. The store is locally owned, and the owner named it after her pup, which I can TOTALLY support. :) Who doesn't love their dog?
It's a quaint little boutique right off of 31 in an easy to find strip mall area. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted (Joni!! That's her name - just came to me!) by the sales staff. We had an appt. and she immediately started discussing dress options with my sister. The store itself was nicely decorated, predictable except for one thing - she has pictures of girls in the dresses they bought all over the shop from their wedding day...in the changing area, on the walls, etc. I thought this an interesting, fun touch! And, I know if I bought THE gown from Sophia's, I would want to be a lucky girl to have my wedding photo displayed.
Their bridesmaid dress options were limited. And, while I'm on that note, I do NOT understand the BM dress selection out there as a whole. Why are they made of the stuffiest fabrics and ugliest colors on the planet?!?!
We managed to find EXACTLY what we were looking for; however, and my sister chose a deep, gorgeous navy. She assisted us with possibilities of one of the BMs who may be pregnant and assured us they can order with a maternity panel. She also helped us figure out the last possible date to order the dresses.
My sister decided on another store and another dress for herself, but we will definitely be ordering our BM dresses and the boys' tuxes from Sophia's. So far, our experience has been top notch. Sophia, the pup, is a very lucky dog!
