This is a hard review to write.  I LOVED this place when we first went there.  We had Mary Ann as our server and the food was nothing less than fabulous.  I beg to differ with the chef there on his side dishes but the main proteins are awesome.

If is says Risotto, don'e expect anything but normal rice.  Any style of potatoes are dense and dry.  Great relaxing atmosphere.  Best Filet Mignon you can get, hands down.

There used to be a caring staff here, but now the owners seem to have let that slide and your food is dumped at your table by young girls serving in management that obviously do NOT want to be there.  If you can tolerate the service or lack there of, the Main Courses are excellent and so are the salads and appetizers.

Lets call it an above average toss up!

If there was more to chose from in the Flower Mound area I wd give this only 3 - so the 4 stars is relative to where the hell else you gonna go??
Nice casual atmoshpere.  I had the signature dish, a panfried chicken breast coated in a breadcrust/parmegeon type crust with pasta in a vodka cream like sauce. One rushed waitress that did little to make our meal enjoyable.
In a nutshell, pretty good food and clueless service. In fact, I am changing my review to 3 stars after seeing other diners had the same poor service as mine.

We drove about 20 minutes from Dallas just to find this place because of the reviews. Maybe they had an off night when we went...anyways, we sat at the bar. The waitress doesn't give us a menu but asks us what we would like to drink We said we were still deciding. Ten minutes later...still no menu and we had to track her down for one. Another 10 minutes we had to grab her to take our order...and the place wasn't even crowded so she wasn't even that busy. She was just busy flirting with the customer dudes at the bar. She was overly friendly to them, and snotty to us. Go figure.

We started with Seared Ahi Tuna...a bit sour?
Garlic Herb Mussels...had much, much better
Lettuce Wraps...the chicken was very dry and hard
Sonoma Dip...this was the best part of the whole meal I think. The bread that it comes with was perfectly toasted and the dip was nice and hot.

Still hungry after the appetizers? Heck yeah!
For dinner I had Sonoma Chicken which is pesto and parmesan crusted chicken served with penne pasta. The chicken was very oily and bland. I heard the Thai Chicken Pasta was also bland and watery as well.

It's sad that we drove this far and the only thing we enjoyed was the dip.

Crap!  I've been yelping for a few weeks and just discovered no one has reviewed this exercise in culinary heaven materialized as a restaurant!  NOoOOOOO!

I found a coupon for this place in one of those Clipper magazines in the junk mail pile and thought, "I like wine AND saving money!"  The Fuzz, of course, was enlisted as an accomplice.

Their menu has changed since, but they still have the melt-in-your-mouth, not-in-your-boyfriend's-mouth duck breast in cranberry-port chutney (lol, funny word bonus).  I'm a HUGE fan of game meat and usually chow on elk, duckies, or buffalo any chance I get.  I was not disappointed.

True to his seafood-loving self, the Fuzz had the Crab-Stuffed Chilean Sea Bass and melted into a puddle of food-bliss ecstasy.  I was jealous of their affair.

Our fabulous waitress helped us pick a freaking D-elicious wine (Carter-Browne, I believe?) from a great list of vineyards I'd never heard of (shock!).  Impressed?  Yes, yes I was.

The restaurant is in a new string-o-shops and is small enough to enjoy an intimate dinner, but big enough so you don't feel weird.  The prices are reasonable and are far worth the quality of incredible food.

They did not have live music when we went, but I hear they do on Saturdays.

Doooo it!  You'll thank me.   Hopefully with monetary donations.

    Based on Happy Hour only.

Been there a few times, each time felt "unwelcome" because we were not regulars. Service was cold (to us, not regulars) and food is "just okay".

But, on the bright side, happy hour pricing is pretty good, but the flavored martinis (Cosmo, pomegranate) are super sweet according to Jamie.

We went to Sonoma Grill last night. I got a Caesar Salad to start and the Beef Stir Fry. My friend got the crab stuffed Chilean Sea Bass crusted in horseradish with risotto and a champagne sauce. we finished by sharing a couple pieces of their cheesecake. My friend got the Savignon Blanc wine flight and I got a glass of their Cab. I was very impressed. They were just introducing a new menu and were pretty busy and our service was still great. Both of the entrees were good, the Beef Stir Fry was spicy which I love and I also like it actually being spicy when they say because too many restaurants call bland items spicy in my opinion. The fish was good as well and all the flavors came together really well.
Already looking forward to our next chance to go.

We have not visited Sonoma in about a year. We took some out of town guests as we were looking for something close. Had no problem making a reservation the night of. Arr rived a few minutes early and was not crowded so we decided to have a drink first. Drinks were made well. We sat about 20 minutes later and the place was 1/2 full. Ordered a two appetizers - the calamari is worth getting. So good my wife ordered a second order as her dinner. We also had the Sonoma Crab Dip - was not crazy about the dip. Should have tried the crab cakes. I then had the BLT Wedge Salad which I was not crazy about because of the bacon dressing. Would have preferred a blue cheese dressing.

From past visits I had the Crab Stuffed Chilean Sea Bass which is lightly breaded in a horseradish coating over risotto. The Sea Bass is awesome as I remembered from previous visits. A must try if you want a fish dinner. One in our party tried the Sonoma Shrimp Pasta which she said was awesome. I had a chance to sample a little bit and thought it was very good.

I do not remember the menu being as extensive as it was. There are many options in each course. Should have no problem finding something for any palate.

Concern this place will not survive as Parker Square has been losing businesses so foot traffic is down. Especially when the River-walk opens in a year or two. Hope it stays around as a good option in Flower Mound to visit from time to time.

I could get used to the kind of meal we enjoyed here last night. 3 hours, 3 girls, and 3 new wines! I ordered the 'Merlot Flight' which comes with 3 different Merlots to sample, then after our appetizer (cheese/fruit plate and some guacamole) I ordered a glass of one that I had sampled. Next we ordered salads; the Chop salad was one of the best I've ever had, YUM. I could have/ should have stopped there but.... we ordered steaks (the reason I gave only 4 stars. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not the best by any means. I had a 10 oz pepper steak that came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I had it prepared medium while the other ladies with me ordered theirs well-done. None of us were really thrilled with our steak, but the overall meal/experience was superb. It was an early dinner so we had the place mostly to ourselves. Together with it having been a last minute dinner plan, misty cold weather, and being somewhat far away, it was almost like a dream as we talked the night away.
We completed our dining experience with pumpkin praline cheesecake, chocolate cake, and a chocolate martini. I could get used to dining like this! The martini was perfectly chilled and delicious.
    the end.

My girlfriend & I enjoyed a night out and decided to eat dinner at Sonoma. Our server was very attentive & friendly - I believe her name was Lindsay. She was able to explain items on the menu & helped us make a decision on what we ordered. All in all it was a great evening & we will be back.

We arrived and it was a pretty nice place.  Quiet.  Peaceful.  Ordered a bottle of wine.  Cheapest cab on the menu.  Wife liked it.  I thought it was bitter.  Didn't matter.  It's alcohol.  I can drink it.  Ordered the crab cakes.  $10.  Thought there would be six coming out.  There were two.  That's right - $5 crab cakes.  Worth.every.penny.  The best crab cakes I have ever eaten.  Yowzas.  If I had known they were this good, I would have paid $20.  I was torn between some seafood and the ribeye for the entree.  I think they're known for their seafood, so being the genius I am, I ordered the steak.  I'll never learn.  Got it medium.  It came out a little overdone.  Not really that big of a problem, much like the wine problem.  I can still put it down.  The problem was a quarter of it was fat.  Probably got a bad cut.  The other 3/4 of it were okay, but I have to stop ordering steaks at non-steak houses.  They're just not worth it.  The old lady ordered some kind of bow tie pasta with chicken and a sauce that was a mix between alfredo and something else.  Hell I don't know and I'm rambling, but it was effing awesome.  Between the 10 bites I had of that, the $5 crab cakes and the mashed potatoes I got with my steak, the place deserves the 4th star.

Afterwards, we went into the bar area, which was small and a little crowded and they had a lady playing a piano and singing with a dude playing a guitar.  They were pretty good.  Wasn't a huge fan of their version of "Yesterday" and the room was a little crowded for a "band", but it was a nice touch.

    This place is great.
    Suggestions....
Happy Hour is awesome.  Half Priced Appetizers including pizza's.  The Rockpile (Sirlon Steak Pizza) is over the top awesome.
Half Price Wine nights in the early week are a nice touch.
Dinner is good.  Flat Iron Steak for less than $20 with sides is a good buy.
Live Music in the bar on Saturday nights is an awesome experience.
Great place to go if you don't want to eat at the normal chains and you don't want to drive to Dallas.

This place serves the community well.

Slow and inattentive service. I used to come here often but have noticed a decline in service. It's too bad because Flower Mound needs more and better restaurants. Guess Sonoma Grill hasn't noticed all the places closing down around them. If they did, maybe their servers would act like they cared.

This place's happy hour is a staple of my life, it has great (priced) wine and excellent (most only $4) appetizers during happy hour.  Obviously the rest of the place is great to, but this is an extremely worthy and thrifty happy hour.

This place is great.  We come here not ALL the time but we frequent for dinner when we can.  The happy hour is great, we will be here for this all the time.  Half price appetizers and wine specials. FANTASTIC.  Its well light, comfortable, no smoke, no crazy loud music so you can actually carry on a conversation with the people you are with.  The dinners are great the happy our is fantastic. I love this place.

Great food and wine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love dining here when my girlfriends visit from Dallas. I had the lamb which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It made my friends jealous! I really don't remember what they had. Ive heard the happy hour is fantastic, and I wish i could check it out, but I'm a busy new mommy. I'm sure this place will be around long enough for me to find out... I remember when it first opened during lunch, they would have an artist in the dining room painting!! I'm not sure if they still do that...

Mother's Day 2010:  food was very average (we had New York Strip steaks and prime rib) and service extremely slow. But, without being asked to, they did take 20 percent off of our bill in apology.  I think the real problem was in the kitchen - our server was working extremely hard; he was very nice and I did kind of feel sorry for him.  This is not anyplace I would care to go back to if this is their typical quality of food. Granted, they were very busy.

The food at Sonoma was okay, but not great.  Overall their prices were high for the portions you got; especially the appetizers.  The entrees were good and made the experience a little better until you got the final bill.  The atmosphere was nice, and the wine section was good, but some of the wine around the table had a corky, stale taste.
