Loved this hotel!  I travel a lot for work and have had my fair share of hotel experiences.  This was among one of the nicer experiences I've had at a hotel.

The property itself is large and I believe it was renovated not too long ago.  Our room was large, clean and nicely updated.  Although we spent a lot of time out and about during our vacation it was a pleasure to come back here each night.

Our room overlooked the center courtyard where the pool and jacuzzi are.  Although we never went in the pool, the jacuzzi was very nice.  I just wish they kept it on later.  I loved the little patio outside our room.  It was so nice to sit there at night enjoying a bottle or two from the vineyards we had visited during the day.

The staff were really great.  Checking in was quick and easy.  We stopped by for happy hour at the lobby bar and were served by a lovely barman.  Another evening we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine from the wine bar.  Although the prices of the glasses were ridiculously inflated the barman was was wonderful and we enjoyed chatting with him.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This is NOT a 4-star hotel.

It's spacious and surrounded by a golf course, nice enough for a chain hotel, clean and comfortable, really nice grounds, but not 4 star by any means. Customer service is some of the worse I've seen anywhere. First attempt at room service: We tried calling room service at 5pm and got no answer after 10 minutes of ringing. Tried front desk, go put on hold for another 10+ minutes. After 2-3 more attempts within the hour we finally got a pickup. They screwed up our order, food was cold and we got rather rudely carded, by room service (!!!) for a watered down cocktail (note: we are both early 40s). Our second and third attempts later in the weekend were a complete bust. So 30% chance you'll even get an answer, let alone actual room service. The place seemed really understaffed, but oddly empty at the same time - the hotel was maybe 1/2 full. We accidentally left our do-not-disturb sign on late so had to call housekeeping to turn the room over later in the afternoon while we were out. They made the beds but LEFT clean sheets for us instead of actually changing the beds and didn't bother replacing towels. The kicker was when we asked for a late checkout (1pm instead of 11) and the front desk told us there was no possible way as the hotel was full, which was complete BS as the OTHER front desk guy told us they had tons of availability and asked if we wanted to stay another night. Pool is unheated to the point of frozen and poolside attendance/cleanup nonexistent. Staff were 50% jerks too. Don't spend more than $10o

If people you love are mortal, stay away.  Nobody likes giving refunds but this excellent set of folks refused to recognize my husband's emergency hospitalization and surgery as a reason for cancelling reservations.  There are plenty of chain motels -- but no one needs to stay at place this mean-spirited.

This is a pretty decent property. I used to stay here a LOT years ago when I was working in Petaluma but hadn't relocated.

Its getting a bit long in the tooth these days and could use a refresh, but its comfortable. Have stayed here 2x in the last 6 months, when a good rate was available. Weekend rates will fluctuate a lot based on events, space it....its a good deal when its $120 or so.

Restaurant makes decent breakfast, head to Willies Wine Bar for dinner :)

This Doubletree is not a bad place to stay if you are visiting the Sonoma wine country and don't mind staying a corporate chain hotel.  Although it is a bit distant from the wineries (about 30-45 min), it is comfortable and economical compared to the pricey B&Bs and luxury hotels in the wine country.

However, don't expect the W here.  The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy--however the decor is rather dated.  The layout of the hotel is very spread out so it may take a while to walk to your room from the hotel lobby.  Ask for a room away from the pool if you want some peace and quiet.  One nice thing is that they had a fridge and a balcony, which is not private but shared with the other rooms, which I thought was kinda strange.

The service was okay--but nothing to write home about.  The front desk staff could've been more helpful--they didn't even offer to help with our luggage.  Upon checkout, we did call for a bellhop who assisted with our bags but he appeared to be doing this for the first time--I actually had to give him tips on how to stack all the bags on the cart...LOL.

We've stayed at this facility on four or five occassions over the past several years.

Some good features. Really comfortable beds. Nice lobby bar. Nice pool and hot tub area. Rooms are average to above average.

Some bad features. Wheelchair accessible rooms aren't available as promised in reservation. Lack of awareness of disability laws by both regular staff as well as management. Needed to get pretty assertive before management complied with ADA on two occasions.

Location is actually convenient if you want to explore Sonoma County wine country. Although there are no close wineries, it is centrally located and easy use as a home base.

Loud, loud, loud. The walls are paper thin and you can hear the pipes rattling as the other guests take showers...this was loud enough to wake me up at 6am. The day of checkout the cleaning crew came through the floor at 9am. Since there's not much insulation in the walls it sounded as though 30 people were hanging out in front of our doorway.

The front desk was kinda helpful but overall the hotel needs to have some money dumped into it before it can get my other 3 stars.

Overall the place is clean and beautifully decorated but in many aspects  it felt like a Motel 6.

I spend a lot of time in this area for work and this has been my hotel of choice for each visit. It sits on a golf course and is a large hotel with plenty of rooms. It is very close to the freeway and local shopping centers and a movie complex.

The staff has always been very friendly and I really have never had any issues with noise or the cleanliness of my room.

The only negative is that the rooms are starting to look a little tired and if you are not on the first floor the amour holding your TV rattles around when you walk by. the other odd thing is their is not separation between the balconies. Meaning you can walk out your sliding door and walk by all the joining rooms sliding doors...this is a little odd to me.

Other than that this has been an OK place to start for one or two nights.

I just got a very rude Yelp message from a girl who lives in Rohnert Park (Doubletree neighborhood).

She would like for all of us "uptight SoCal idiots" to stay away from their neighborhood. So all you "uptight SoCal idiots" that make make wine country what it is, spending millions in their economy up there, ordering from their wine clubs, this hillbilly would like for you to stay away, 'cause y'all are not welcome. (I'm sure all the hotels, golf courses, and wineries appreciate what she's doing for them)!

Thank goodness most of the folks we chatted with in Wine Country were nicer than you, whew!

3 1/2 stars would be ideal, although I hear this place is rated a 4 star hotel.

Warm Cookie was delicious and unexpected
A little bit more help from the checkin girl would have been nice. If my room isn't nearby, it stands to reason that you would give a guest directions to the easiest way to get there and where the best place to park is.
King Size bed was sooooo comfy. Very much a 4-5 star bed!
Liked the fact I got my own couch, desk, and coffee table.

I didn't have a balcony but my window looked onto someone else's balcony....weird.

Pool and Hot Tub close at 10pm....sucks. Considering I arrived at 9:30pm and could have used a good soak.

Liked the easy to make Wolfgang Puck coffee.

Lots of stuff stores and little restaurants within walking distance including a mini-mart open late.

3.5 really but that isn't an option now is it?

I checked in at night, promptly crashed, and woke up the next morning to check it out. It's not bad. The lobby is a bit deceiving, it makes the hotel look nicer than the rooms are. The room have the usual amenities you'd expect from a Doubletree: Neutrogena bath products, Wi-Fi (although it's $9.95 here), etc. I did think the rooms were a bit dated but still comfortable. I don't eat the cookies (it's wrong to put nuts in sweets!) so yeah, I don't care about the cookie. This hotel seems like it's in walking distance to a number of things which is always good.

I have to come back on business and I hope that the next time I'm here, I can check this property out some more as well as the area.

Thanksgiving 2007; my personal (and annual) great escape.  After battling loads of SUV's and mini vans, making a 4 hour drive that normally is 1 and a half, I zip my car around into the entrance of the Double Tree Hilton Sonoma, in Rohnert Park.

I take a deep breath from my frazzled drive and instantly hear a beautiful fountain gurgling away.  They check me in within 6.8 seconds and hand me two hot freshly baked oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies and know that I requested a King size bed with a balcony, which was granted, no prob.

I have one small bag with 2 bathing suits, tennis shoes and pj's (no need for a bell hop!)  They insist anyway, but get this, when I tried to tip him, he said "no, it was no problem"!  Hmmmm, ok, great!  The room is suite style, even though this is the "basic room," which includes a couch, a small kitchen station (fridge and microwave) has Wolfgang Puck organic coffees and teas, and a very comfy bed with a down comforter and no crazy printed duvet.

The Care Line then calls to ask if I plan on golfing during my 3 night stay.  I golf so rarely but ask about the green fees (they have their own course).  She politely answers it is free for guests, and that I could borrow clubs as well.  A-l-r-i-g-h-t then!  I book a lesson with an instructor for free at 9 am the next morning, this is all so good....then I get ready for my swim.

OMG, I take one step into the pool and want to scream. Not only is it not heated it feels like they deliberately put polar ice caps into it and mind you, this is coming from a woman who will jump into Tahoe as long as it is not covered by ice (which of course, it never is).  The jacuzzi is luke warm, and yet the temp outside that fine day was 71.  However, the jacuzzi can easily fit 15 people, so it was kind of a "mini" pool and I had it all to myself.

My biggest "too bad" about this place besides the pool, was the building itself.  You could hear people walking by your door, the people above your room, the very umm, "romantic couple" next to you, and the housekeepers talking.  The walls themselves seem to squeak.

If any of my golfers in my life get to the bay area, I would highly recommend this place along with a wetsuit and several pairs of earplugs.

A chocolate chip cookie upon checking in?!  what?!

Any place that gives me a warm chocolate chip cookie upon checking in is gonna score some points with me.

They did get my reservation wrong...I asked for a smoking king and i got a non-smoking double queen.  Which I figured was ok since I'd get extra pillows...and it really wasn't a big deal since I had a patio there to walk out on and smoke outside.

the beds were AWESOME.  Feathery everything...down blanket and pillows and I basically slept more comfortably than I do at home (which is huge, since i usually sleep worse when I'm not home).

It was kinda expensive, but the great clear pool and the greenery and peacefulness more than made up for it.

I'd definitely stay here again...in fact, next time I might take a disguise so i can pretend to be other people and get lots and lots of cookies.

Oh...and they have this plaza really close that had a great sushi restaurant.

Yeah yeah a cookie... That makes me feel better about the fact that my non-smoking room reeked like disinfectant and a combination of febreeze and cigarette smoke and my fiance and I felt like we had sinus infections in the morning...and we paid over $200 for this luxury in rohnert park.
At least it was clean.

This was a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere.  I had a very memorable experience sleeping on a pull out bed because they messed up the room request and gave us a king-sized bed with a pull-out bed instead of two queens.  Although I did not care for the pull-out bed, the hotel environment was beautiful.

Sonoma County (wine country) was one of the stops we made during our honeymoon. We happened to have a wedding to attend that weekend as well (7/707) and so we decided to stay at the Double Tree in Rohnert Park.

Our suite was beaitful. We had a little patio area and all their complimentary toiletries were Neutrogena products that I was meaning to try out.

The staff was very friendly and I loved the bar in the lobby. All in all it was a cute hotel and I would definitely go back one day.

The staff was very professional during check-in and check-out. The hotel seemed well managed and very clean but our room took about 5 minutes to walk to. What really got me boiling was the fact that I had asked for a non-smoking room but was put in a room that seemed like it once was an opium den. The refrigerator was broken, which ruined a lot of perishable food we bought that day. On the bright side the welcome cookies were pretty good and the parking lots ample. I just couldn't believe how bad our room smelled.

Free Cookie = 5 stars.  This place was clean, VERY quiet, bed comfortable, and the staff was extremely nice. The ghastly orange and green color combination in the miles of hallways was a bit disconcerting but interesting in a Jack Nicholson "Shining" kind of way. I was a tad disappointed that the Hilton Corp. now runs Doubletree resorts. I loathe to think that any of my money goes to that party-tramp du jour Paris. But I see in the news her Grandpapa Barron Hilton is short changing the whole family by donating 97% of his fortune to charity. Good for him. A Hilton redeemed!

This place is OK.  Try to keep your rate below $125 and you'll be happier.  I paid $140 with AAA discount, and feel it should've been cheaper. They nickel & dime you for various services. The hotel is clean and nice. The check-in is quick. The rooms are just OK. They seem to have been re-furnished. The bathroom is nice. The TV is old. The beds are so-so. The hallways are loud. There is free wireless in the lobby, and wireless in the room is 9.99/day. I don't like that. Lucky we were close enough to the lobby and got to use the wireless for free. Ask the front desk for an activation code and try it in your room. The computers in the lobby suck too. They charge for certain internet access, including a printing charge. That sucks. We asked the front desk to print our boarding passes and they did. Finally, breakfast is a buffet only.  You can get a 7.97 continental style or a 12.95 with eggs and the works.  I thought this was a good idea.  This place is close to 2 stars, but I give it 3. It is just OK.

here's a hint...when you type in sonona/santa rosa area four star hotel on hotwire you can swing this hotel for 80-90 buckaroos!  you can even book it the day of your stay.

can't guarantee this all the time...but we booked three rooms after too many drinks on my boyfriends' blackberry. we all stayed in pretty comfie rooms- wish i had brought my suit and then went to the local El Torito the next morning for the BREAKFAST BUFFET EXTRAVAGANZA!

totally worth it.

Very nice, but they didn't have any cookies w/o nuts.  Bummer.  Anyway, the best hotel in RoPa, and you can walk to one of the better restaurants in town, Latitude.  The bar is pretty good, too, so it's a good thing that you can walk back to the hotel.

i came here for a company meeting in december and i got carsick on the way here :(  we also accidently parked in the wrong parking lot (it shouldn't say double tree if it isn't!) and got lost for 15 minutes trying to find the place.  my luggage was heavy too!  being a girl, i automatically pack 5 outfits for a 1 night stay.  the place is really nice and the rooms were too.  i took a relaxing bath and like how they didn't have generic soaps and shampoos, they had neutrogena!  we ate dinner (that was comp'd, YAY FOR COMPS!) downstairs in this secluded spot.  dinner was really good.  i had salmon but THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING EVER AND I STRESS THIS- EVERRR IS THE SCALLOPS.  OMG EAT THEM IF YOU ARE THERE!  they are the most flavorful thing i've ever tasted in my entire 21 years of life.  they had two bars and at the bar near the entrance was the sweetest old man ever.  AND I STRESS THIS-EVERRR!  but he wasn't just a weird old man at the bar, he was the bartender!  the kind that you could just tell your whole life story to.  he even stayed late so he could fill my coworkers up with liquor til about 2am when we had our meeting at 7am.  so considerate.  in the morning they have a really tasty breakfast buffet too that i did not get to attend!  our meeting room was filled with coffee and pastries.  who the hell wants that!?  i need some eggs in me!  anyways, the place was considerably nicer than i thought it would be and everyone was super pleasant.  and did i say it was comp'd?
