Love this place!
Service is great, all of the employees are super kind. My roommate works here and loves it too.
It has always been a go to spot for studying and getting work done. Right on campus! They have all of your favs and really fun specialty drinks for the seasons.
The setup is really cute and I love the way it's decorated. Other locations are nice too but this one is definitely the best! Love you Soma!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 12, 2023
You will find this coffee shop right across the street from the main IU campus. There is a small lot available in front of the the shop that has spots with a 20 minute max. Since the shop is so close to IU campus, most people walk here.
The dining area is large and has couches, tables/chairs and bar seating along the front window. You can imagine that the place is usually filled with IU students working away on their laptops of in small social groups, given the shop's close proximity to the campus.
The women that were working during my visit were all so very helpful and friendly. they helped my make my selection. They serve a wide array of hot and iced coffees and also has teas, smoothies and juices as well. The coffees come in 3 sizes, yep you guessed it, small, medium and large. The light food options that they have includes cookies, scones, muffins, parfaits, quiche, zucchini bread, brownies, and cinnamon rolls.
I ended up getting a large iced pumpkin spice latte. It took about 7 minutes for me to get my drink. It was very savory and hit the spot. It was gone in a matter of seconds.
Anyway, I highly recommend checking this place out. It is a traditional coffee house, with a great staff, savory drinks and delicious treats. I highly recommend checking this place out.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sep 7, 2022
This little coffee shop on the corner of Jordan and 3rd has expanded since the last time I visited it, and well deserved! This place has always been consistently great with the products they put out. This past Monday we went and the service was quick and easy and parking was not an issue.
We ordered a Honey Lavender Oatmilk Latte and the Peanut Butter Cup of Joe. Both were absolutely great and both are "Soma Specials". The Honey Lavender was just sweet enough and full of flavor. The Peanut Butter Cup of Joe tasted just like a homemade peanut butter cup with dark chocolate! I was a little skeptical of coffee and peanut butter, but they were able to find the sweetness-to-bitterness ratio and perfect it!
They also have a lot more seating now that they have expanded and they have some awesome-looking treats and grab-and-go salads that looked amazing!
I can't wait to go back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 13, 20233 check-ins
We had our first visit to Soma during a recent trip to the Indiana University Bloomington campus, and I was very impressed. I've always been a big fan of independent coffee shops, and this one has everything you need. I had an iced latte, which was very flavorful. Service at the front counter was prompt and courteous, and the ambience is just what you'd expect. This location is situated in a small retail area on 3rd Street, right in the heart of the campus and next to a Village Pantry. Inside, you'll find lots of college students with their MacBooks, doing assignments and studying. This shop has a lot of charm, and with such a prime location, I'm sure they'll be successful for many years to come.

Longtime patron of this Bloomington institution. Always bustling and vibrant, decent pastries, better cold sando's, and good drinks.

What a fun and funky atmosphere. The perfect college coffee shop. After being outside walking in the rain all day around IU's campus, we popped in for a warm drink to enjoy on the way home.
We ordered two dirty Chai's and they were heavenly. The perfect creaminess and not too sweet. The service was friendly and upbeat, and quite quick too!
I loved all the seating areas, and could definitely see myself getting work done while sipping on a delicious drink someday in the future!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Reece s.Fort Wayne, IN01411Oct 21, 2023
Employees are nice. Would not return on own accord. The lattes lacked any flavor of espresso. Tasted like straight up milk. Honey wasn't mixed in. Asked for an extra shot of espresso and it costed $3. spent $10 on a subpar cafe miel. There was honey at the bar, so if I would've known they weren't going to make the effort to mix it in, I wouldn't have paid extra for it. This is my second time here where my lattes sucked. Hoping they fix their latte training or however that works. Cool environment though. Good place to study. Minimal parking.

I used to come here all the time when I lived near Bloomington and I loved the vibe. I was in the area (ie 3 hours away and made the extra drive haha) so I stopped by yesterday and this morning and the coffee is still amazing.
The staff were all super friendly and answered all my questions. My friend ordered a single shot of espresso on ice and they offered to give him an extra shot for free which I thought was nice.
They've taking good health safety precautions by removing all the tables and seating inside and leaving hand sanitizer by the front door. They do have tables outside and have signs indicating whether they've been sanitized between customers which I thought was really nice.
They do request that customers wear masks inside but they didn't turn away customers that weren't wearing masks.
I'm so sad I live so far away from soma but I will definitely make an effort to stop by any time I'm nearby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
