From what I remember of it, this was a *really* great place. I actually didn't eat their food until the day after I was there--thanks in large part to shooting Tawaka (grimace) at the Doublewide with roller derby girls. After stumbling all the way to the other end of Deep Ellum, past Angry Dog and down to Sol's and ordering, my friend and I exchanged trips to the bathroom only to stumble out in what I would guess was 'Preston-Sturges-movie-like-drunken-hilarity' to toss down a 20 on the table (it was half-price food night--Mondays, I think?) which more than covered our tab plus a decent tip. Grabbed to-go boxes for our untouched meals, made a bit of a scene, then tripped all the way down Commerce Street back to the Doublewide.

Somehow we weren't accosted/molested. The next day, once I was able, I had the Sol's meal reheated and it was really good! I'll go back when the embarassment subsides and I don't think they'll recognize me.

Sol's is really good food at very reasonable prices.  My favorite is the chicken tacos al carbon!  Awesome!  three of them, with onions and peppers!  YUM!  and they also have good drinks, and great quesadillas, good queso, great, fresh guacamole, too!! and they deliver!
