My husband and wanted to start our date night last night with a foot massage, Chinese style. (We get massages often, in different styles and from different businesses around town.)
We drove to Alhambra and ended up at Sole So Good. It was an outstanding massage experience. We left feeling happy, relaxed and loose. A lot of the very traditional Chinese foot massage places in that area charge $15 an hour, this place charges $20. That extra five dollars buys you a lot. Comfort, cleanliness, atmosphere, and hospitality -- in addition to a great full body massage that centers around the feet and lower legs.
The shop is impeccably clean and has over-sized comfortable loungers. The towels were fresh and clean. It's evident the masseuse take their art seriously and want to provide a high quality service. They serve tea at the beginning and dates at the end of the massage.
The owner, Helen, talked with us after our massage experience (she speaks fluent English, however her technicians do not.) The place has been open for 3 years, and she is obviously trying hard to differentiate herself in the marketplace and grow the business. Based on our experience, this is a business worth supporting!
So if you have always wanted to try the Chinese foot massage but are hesitant or intimidated by the cultural and language differences, this is a great place to try. You won't regret it.
PS - TIP WELL! These guys work their tails off! Anywhere else in town you would pay three times the price for a massage only half as good!!

This is by far one of the best foot massage places I've been to. My other favorite is Korty a few blocks away from Sole So Good. This place is EXTREMELY clean - which they take pride in since they are OSHA certified and that is something that I rarely see in foot massage spas. The ambiance is wonderful too - peaceful, serene. You even get a little treat and green tea served on cute plates for you! : )
The only drawback to this place is that it costs more than other foot massage spas around town. For a foot massage and back rub it will cost you +/- $50 (including tip). Another thing to note is that they charge extra for the back rub. But at least you have options. For the price of one massage you could get two at any other place on San Gabriel or Valley Boulevards - I guess that is why the place is usually empty as I drive by.
In comparison to other places who do the same service like the Burke Williams-type; Sole So Good's prices are a steal and its just as relaxing.
Bottom line: if you feel like splurging and spending the extra buck - go to Sole So Good the quiet ambiance and extra pampering is WORTH it!

Okay, so one day I am sitting at Spike's Burgers, before they closed because the owners children were greedy, anyways, and I am tired from a long day of Christmas shopping. As I am eating my chicken teriyaki bowl with cabbage, I notice the "Feels Sole Good" sign across the parking lot.
I figure after a long day of shopping a foot massage is the best thing for me. I enter in the quiet shop with several full sized lounging sofas and realize that I am about to be taken to a different world. The 3 workers do not speak english and my pantamiming is not working, I am about to walk out when one of the workers hands me her cell phone and on the other line is the owner and she explains the price and services to me. I tell her what I want and hand the phone back to the worker, she gets her instructions from the owner and we are off.
I order the foot massage with shoulder and scalp massage while my feet soak in HOT herbed water. I feel like my skin is about to peel off, I don't know how I am going to get the worker to cool down the water, so but I guess he sees that I look like a lobster in hot water and he brings some cool water to ease my pain.
The shoulder massage is a great, much like a stress massage, and then he gets going on my feet. "No pain No gain" is their motto. But the 30 minutes makes me feel re-engerized and refreshed for some more shopping. I have been back several times and usually get a nap in while the foot massage is being done.
I recommend, but I am interested in finding another place that is less expensive.

Nice place - clean and easy parking. To be honest, I didn't feel very welcome at first, but things improved over the course of the visit.
Very clean and nice, new furniture and implements. Highly recommend.

Clean, friendly, relaxing atmosphere, and one of the best massages I've had so far. The only downside is that they don't really speak english well, so it's kinda hard to communicate. Prices are very reasonable.
