If you are twentysomething, you probably won't like this place unless you are into jazz but as a fortysomething, I found this place to be excellent for a drink, tapas, and great conversation. The tapas were excellent, the drinks stiff, the patio was perfect for carrying on a good conversation on a blind date. I will definitely return.

I wanted something new for dinner and someone had suggested this place so I gave it a try. It happened to be Monday - which i didn't know in advance - but Sunday and Monday they have happy hour all day - yay for discounted tapas! Every other day its until 730 I believe the menu said.
I ordered a Grape Punch to drink - it was delicious, but cost more than any of my tapas, but I think it was still worth it. white grape vodka, peach schnapps, melon liquor, pineapple juice and grenadine. Couldn't even taste the alcohol. Yum.
I started with the Teriyaki ribs with sesame oil. Delicious. I would definitely get these again - they were the star of the show. I then had the pork dumplings with garlic soy. They were deep fried so I wasn't a huge fan, but when I brought them home the fiance was a huge fan of them. I couldn't resist the Fontina-black truffle ditalinni gratin pasta dish and it didn't disappoint. The panko-ish bread crumbs on the top were interesting, but the flavor was mmmmm delicious - # 2 on the list of deliciousness. Since I was taking home most of the dumplings and half the pasta I thought I would also try the Barbecued pulled pork with cheddar mash. It was alright - not nearly as awesome as the ribs, but I ate it :)
There were a few more tempting items on the tapas menu that I wanted to try so I'll be going back for the ribs, pasta and to try a few more tapas.
Atmosphere in this place was a little odd - the staff was very friendly and it was an eclectic crowd - there seemed to be a large party inside and a few random couples on the patio and a few people at the bar. The jazz music wasn't bad. but overall the place was a little loud. I didn't really mind because I didn't have any one to talk to anyway, but it might make it hard to converse - granted I was like 6 feet from the singer-dude. Also - random dancing broke out while I was dining - it maxed out at 3 couples - which is kind of alot when there is no dance floor, but it made for good people watching.

I have gone to to this place a few times. The menu is so so. Some weekend nights the music is really GOOD. The service is good. I would recommend.

I've been here on a few occasions on weekday nights. We've almost always ordered from the tapas menu. Most things we've ordered have been quite good, but some servings are extremely small making it a little more expensive then it first seems. The food is a little inconsistent between visits. Service has always been good, not standout but no real problems.
The draw is the music though and this were I'm hesitant. The times I've been here the music has been so-so at best. One particular night the piano player seemed intent on going through every song Billy Joel has ever done. I keep hearing that some great musicians play here, maybe I've just missed them.
Stil, even with the problems, that atmosphere makes this an enjoyable place to go. I like it here. Maybe not the best place for dinner it's probably a better place to grab appetizers or desert to start or end your night. I wish they'd have jazz during their happy hour.

I hate to use this word in a review but I can't help it because this place did badly and hard, Suck-issimo. Capital S, A-1 suck.
If velvet paintings of naked women emerging from a cigar smoke plumes are your thing, then SoHo is your taplas bar.
This place is stuck in the era that Tapas came out of. Linen suits, pastel slacks, a total absence of socks. This place screams Don Johnson.
Not only did the food absolutely have zero flavor, and zero inspiration, but it was priced like 1980's blow too. Who charges $7 for a shrimp? Yes, A, singular, shrimp.
The menu was as sauce heavy as probably the chef. Save your money, go to a place where simplicity of good ingredients can sing far better than the velveteen street walkers that adorn SoHo's walls.
