My first visit here was for lunch. I got the lunch special chicken with ginger and string beans. For $6.95, it also came with soup (hot and sour was delicious), rice, and chicken wings (whole thing, so the equivalent of two chicken wing parts). For essentially the same price as a sandwich at Panera, you can get a full lunch here with tons of yummy food.

Veggie tempura was also good, as were the scallion pancakes - which were a little thicker/more breadlike than other restaurants, but also non-greasy.

Service was fast, attentive, and the owners are super friendly (they used to own August Moon bakery in Milford, which was one of my favorite spots).

As Ian W. mentioned, the interior is nicely done.

2 stars because the drinks are good. That's about it...

I'm very reluctant when it comes to giving a restaurant a second chance. Never mind a third chance...or a fourth chance. SoHo is just NOT good. I first experienced the restaurant when it opened back in 2007. My sister got me a $50 gift card for Christmas. My husband and I had dinner here and the bill came to $58. I put the $50 GC down and the rest on my credit card. It was then that the OWNER came out and asked me if I had any cash. I don't carry cash often because I am more likely to spend it if I have it. She then went on to explain that it was going to cost her money to run my card for $8 and that the tip I decided to give to the waiter was also going to cost her. She then suggested I go to the ATM next time before stopping in. I get that businesses are charged when someone uses a credit card, but that is the cost of doing business. With that being said, I ordered their sushi the first time I went. It reminds me a lot of the sushi you get from Hannaford or Shaws. The premade sushi :-/ I have since gone back and given the sushi another shot but same observation. After giving up on the sushi, I went back again with my husband for the short time they offered the buffet lunch. It was a set price for the buffet and you could go up as much as you wanted. We went up twice and had quite a bit of leftover food from our second trip up to the buffet. I was shocked when we had asked for a to-go container for the remainder of food on our plate and they wouldn't give us one! I guess this is normal for buffets, but it just felt wrong throwing away all that food I could have enjoyed later on in the day for dinner! I felt as though I should have put the food in my purse or brought my own to go container. SoHo is in my home town and my friends love going here, so I suck it up every once in a while and I do enjoy the bar at SoHo, however I make sure to eat before I go where I am not a fan of their food.

I really want to give SoHo a decent rating, but after coming here several times I can't bring myself to give it more than two stars. Let's start off with the positive remarks. SoHo is a relatively new restaurant and they did a great job of transforming the revolting Stevie P's into a classy Asian restaurant. I really like the atmosphere, it is probably one of the nicest places in Hudson, plus the booth seating is plentiful and very comfy. Another great aspect of SoHo is the service, which in my experience has always been impeccable. They are always very friendly and efficient.

The most important part of any restaurant is the food, this is where SoHo fails miserably. For the fairly expensive price and modern air about the place you would expect something special and different. Unfortunately any of the meals from the kitchen are the usual run of the mill Americanized basics with a slightly nicer presentation than usual. The Japanese menu is severely lacking and consists solely of sushi and a crappy bento box that isn't worth ordering. The sushi here is terrible. The fish is lackluster and hard to find buried under thick rolls of rice, I can't believe how much rice they use. The whole experience is very disappointing.

Yes, the atmosphere and service are great, but after giving SoHo several chances for dinner this is the conclusion I've reached: stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

OK, so I went back to try out their all-you-can-eat lunch. They run this seven days a week except holidays, and you can order as many plates as you like. You choose from hot and sour soup/egg drop soup; white, brown, or fried rice; three appetizers; and then two entrees. I got egg drop soup, fried rice, gyoza, spring roll, crab rangoon, beef and broccoli, and egg foo yung.

Service was much better this time, everybody was very polite. Food quality was like typical cheap Chinese food, like you get at the mall. Price was great, but I wouldn't come back for the food.

Went to SoHo for some takeout. Very good steamed vegetables, brown rice and Shrimp Pad Thai.

Price was fine, food ready for pickup when the staff said it would be, and the staff was very pleasant.

    I'll eat there again...

I tried visiting again recently, figuring that my last visit was an anomaly (having had a good visit before).

Unfortunately while I shied away from the sushi (which arrived half frozen with ice-crystals the previous visit), the service remained horrible.  Other than the friendly hostess, it took literally 45 minutes for me to get my meal.  Not sure who was working in the kitchen as it wasn't too busy but it was very disappointing.  I think I'll have to write off this restaurant, there are better options in the area, not to mention that the food is the typical combo ABC fare.

It was a little worrisome to me the first time I went to SoHo and there were literally no other patrons in the dining room. I thought, "This place is going to be gross." How wrong I was! First of all, they wowed us with a PAGODA CARVED FROM A CARROT. I can't even begin to tell you how impressive it was. I know it has nothing to do with food or service, but presentation has a lot to do with how you perceive a restaurant, and they know what's up at SoHo.

Secondly, the food really is outstanding. From the won-ton strip starter (instead of rolls; a nice change), to the juicy, flavorful entrees, SoHo food is always tasty, always hot, and always fresh. I have never not been impressed. My only guess is that the empty dining room is merely a product of people not willing to give it a chance.

Third, the staff is so helpful and friendly! They are always welcoming, and are very accommodating.

By far the best Chinese food in town.

This review is based on a recent lunch visit.

SoHo recently opened up inside the former Charman's Restaurant. SoHo serves up mostly Chinese cuisine and some limited Japanese fare (tempura, sushi, maki, miso soup, salad). The Chef Specialties are offered here including Peking Duck, Three Musketeers, and Seafood Flower Basket, which are served on large platters. 30 Chinese Lunch Specials ($6.25-$8.95) and 6 Japanese Lunch Specials ($8.95-$11.95) are offered on Mondays-Saturdays (11:30-3:00). Exotic drinks such as mai tais and scorpion bowls are offered from the lounge. Check out the menu at http://www.sohocuisine...

The management did a fine job renovating and updating the place. The atmosphere looks very nice with orangey/brown walls, nice decor, and silver beads. The cocktail lounge in back has seating and a TV. The front dining room is carpeted and has new booth seating & shiny hardwood table seating.

I stopped in here for lunch recently and ordered some Green Tea ($1.50-no free Chinese Tea here) and the Lunch Buffet ($8.95), which is served everyday (except holidays). The Lunch Buffet is not big and includes choice of soup and offers 10 hot items (vegetable rice noodles, pork fried rice (short grain), General Gau's chicken (white & dark meat), chicken & zucchini, chicken chow mein, beef & carrots, crab rangoon, fried seafood balls, chicken wings, & boneless BBQ spare ribs), California roll, and vegetable sushi. I chose Hot & Sour Soup, which had the right amount of spice and tasted very good. All of the hot food at the buffet was fresh, especially during the lunch rush. I especially enjoyed the fried seafood balls and rice noodles. The rest of the food including the sushi were okay, good enough to fill up. The service here was very attentive with the staff checking up on me and asking how the meal was and refilling the ice water glass when needed. The meal was good (3.3 stars).

Outstanding service! I love the people here. Plus, they have the BEST Pad Thai I have ever had! Try it out!
