I recently moved to the Inner Richmond and have been trying out various Wash and Folds.  Soap Box is by far the best.

First of all, they accept credit cards (all of the cash only places around here drive me nuts...come on get with the times)

Secondly they had low rates, free delivery and friendly staff.

I don't need my laundry wrapped up in little packages and appreciate the efficient service they provide.

I took 5 shirts here to get laundered and when I picked up my shirts and got home, they had accidentally given me the wrong shirt.

When I called and told them, they didn't know where my shirt was but said they'd get back to me and were very polite about the entire process. They actually followed through and called me the next day to give me the status of where my shirt might be which was pleasantly surprising.

I got the shirt back, but have to knock off a star because they lost it in the first place. Otherwise, they did a great job and are polite.

I've been using Soap Box for about 3 or 4 years now and I can't speak more highly of their quality and customer service.  They always take really great care of all my garments and remember me when I swing by to pick up my stuff.

Soap Box is fantastic.  They recently moved from Balboa to Geary and we were so bummed they were no longer around the corner from us.  However, they told us they do pickup and drop off and it has been fantastic.  They are timely and efficient and always provide service with a smile.   Our clothes always look great.

I brought in a couple of dress shirts on Monday morning that I needed the following evening.  Not a problem.  And $1.50 each!

I also dropped off a white messenger bag that had a big black grease stain on it.  I thought the bag was pretty much going to look like that forever, but they pulled off a miracle.

    And...they have really cool art!

Great wash & fold and dry cleaning services.  The free delivery is nice, but is usually booked the day my cleaning is finished, so it takes a few more days to get it back.   BTW, they moved to Geary and Palm.

So someone spilt about half a bottle of red wine on the back of my grey suit jacket on new years eve/day.  Basically i didnt notice it until the next day the 2nd, so i didnt treat it immediately and by that time the stain dried up.  I didnt actually make it in to soap box until the next day, january 3rd.  I brought it in, a real nice dude took a look at it, said to give him a week and he'd do his best but it was a real bad stain.  I came back a week later and the same guy was there, recognized i was the person with the red wine suit jacket, and brought it out.  It looked like new!  They did a really great job of removing the stain- i seriously thought the jacket was a lost cause.  On top of it all, it was only $8. They have really good customer service, and they saved my suit.

I've been going to Soap Box for a few years now. well actually they come to me :) I have them pick up my dry cleaning make alterations and occasionally use their wash and fold.
I'm a busy professional and I don't have time to deal with picking up at the dry cleaners so this is working out really well for me. They also happen to be really nice and somehow know me by name when I call must be the caller ID but they know me well it feels nice to be a recognized and appreciated client.

Let me say first off *I did not use their services. I never even set foot in the establishment. My only exposure was their customer service on the phone.* Now on to my review.

Darn it. I really wanted to like this place. They got good reviews. Their website is super cute.

I have had a washer and dryer for at least 13 years. I haven't been to the washing mat in a long time. Recently my dryer broke and I found myself in need of some wash and fold service as washing 20 loads of laundry then hauling it to the 'mat isn't something I'm prepared to do, plus I have tons of it this time around and need a little extra help by outsourcing this chore.

I found Soap Box Cleaners on yelp, checked out their website and decided they looked like a good place to go. Now, it's been a while since I've had to pay for my laundry getting done (aside from my PGE bill, that is). I called SBC and asked them how much the average load of laundry weighed in a regular washer so I could do some simple math in my head and come up with an estimate of how much I should expect to pay.

The woman on the other end of the line couldn't have been less helpful. She said "Um, wull like we get the question all the time from people but like I can't give you an answer because it depends on what you bring in. I mean like t-shirts weigh a lot more than like a duvet cover y'know."

OK, I know that t-shirts weigh more than bedspreads, but I'd like to make two points.
    1)  They run a business. They should know how many loads of laundry they need to process each week in order to stay afloat. And from that, they should know what the average ticket brings in, what it costs and how much it weighs.

    and

    2) If they have a large number of potential customers calling and asking for a ballpark on what they should expect to pay, they should be able to give that person an estimate.

With an estimate any reasonable person would know about what to expect to pay, knowing full well that if they were bringing in nothing but panty hose they should to expect to pay less than if they were bringing in nothing but wool sweaters.

Because Soap Box Cleaners couldn't give me an estimate, or average, or ball park or whatever you want to call it, I'm taking my stinky unmentionables elsewhere, and my money too.

New to the neighborhood and I just have to comment on how nice the Soap Box folks are. I knew Robert was coming by between 5 and 6 but like a moron I had my phone on silent and had no way of letting them get in contact with me. (OH YEAH, free pickup and delivery == awesome!!!)

I called the store and they were very nice about my idiot move and offered to reschedule. Then to my surprise, about 10 minutes later, the phone rang for Soap Box to get buzzed in to the building. He came back around despite the rain.

Great prices, great customer service from just plain nice people. Thanks for putting up with my dodobrain.

This is place is incredible. It's extremely inexpensive (I did the math. It's literally the same price as, and often cheaper than, going to the laundromat), they deliver for free, and they are SO NICE AND HELPFUL. I cannot praise their service enough. Some anecdotes:

One time, I was being spacey (in my defense, I was fresh from the hospital, and I'm not sure all the marbles came home with me, if you know what I mean) and forgot to sort my laundry thoroughly, so I ended up sending some of my handwash/dry clean stuff with my wash & fold. I called and the lovely young woman on the phone picked through my nasty dirty laundry and pulled out the delicate stuff so it wouldn't get wrecked. Who does that!?!?!?

Another time, my cat mistook my bed for a litter box and, well, it was gross. They came and picked it up first thing the next morning, no complaints about the nasty cat crap smell. All my bedclothes came back pristine and clean-smelling, in what seemed like no time.

They are also really flexible about delivery. I have rescheduled on them, and they are always really nice about it. They are prompt, my stuff comes back in great shape, and nothing has ever gone missing or shrunk. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

PS Dory H, I think maybe the name change also indicates an ownership change.....doesn't seem quite fair to judge these guys on the previous tenant of the space. Maybe it's time to give the new folks a shot.

Soap Box Cleaners is fantastic. I switched dry cleaners because the old lady I was going to had a bit of an attitude.

Soap Box is reasonably priced and the service is 5 star! Sometimes I have to double park and run in quickly and they'll have my order waiting for me by the time I run inside...we're on a first name basis.

    They do a great job!

Absolutely the best! I had a lot of clothes that went in for dry cleaning that had a lot of juice and misc. stains and actually came back stain free + super clean! Can't say that about a lot of places who told me my garments would never be that spanky clean again even after I specified which areas needed extra care.

Great price, great service...what more can you ask for?

On Track is a dream come true!
The people that work there are so nice, helpful and accommodating.
They always pick up and drop off on time and at my convenience.
Plus, they are the cheapest & best dry cleaners around!
I hang dry many of my clothing items and they have no problem doing it for me as long as i separate the dry & hang dry :)
Now I don't have to search the bottom of my purses for quarters and waste my time doing my own laundry. Amazing!

Very happy with the service   I gave it four stars only because I prefer to get same day service and like a place that is open on Sunday but for these prices I am fine with their schedule. They are less than half my upscale cleaner in the Financial District   I go there for my same day shirt service and to Soap Box for most dry cleaning.

Is it just me or is the previous reviewer Andrea L. an idiot?  She will rate them having never used them?  Is upset because they can't answer her stupid question?  A load of laundry can weigh a pound or 10 pounds. How about getting off your lazy butt and setting a load of laundry on your bath scale. Or take one load in and have them weigh it. Or use your head!!  Is the cap and gown from elementary school??? (update - she lost the cap and gown picture -- thank God).

Yes, that's right: having recently moved, I'm back to finding an amazing wash and fold/dry cleaners to replace the former apple of my eye (don't worry, 24 Guerrero Cleaners, I'll always love you). And fortunately, I've got nothing but good things to say about On-Track Cleaners.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the 25% discount for first time customers, not to mention the 10% discount for you students out there. OTC was clean, easy to communicate with (read: spoke English) and prompt. No problems with the service whatsoever.

Now, it's only because of my formerly amazing prices at 24 Guerrero Cleaners ($0.69/lb) that I feel the price ($0.85) is a little high. Nevertheless, it's the  most competitive price in the area, and for the quality of the work, I'll gladly pay it.

    Viva OTC!

My new go-to dry cleaners.  They are an English speaking dry cleaners in the Richmond that delivers/picks up from your house.
The woman at the counter actually asked if I wanted the bf's dress shirts dry cleaned or laundered and pressed.  Win.

Between the two of use we have a lot of extremely expensive clothing.  So far nothing has been ruined including fur, leather and silk.

They have messed up our pick up once; they switched a dress shirt with someone else's, but i called the next day and they had found the correct shirt within 15 min and came by to switch them.  They dealt with the situation so well, they still deserve 4 stars.

I don't like that the place where they do the actual cleaning isn't on site.  I also don't like that they safety pin skirts to the hangars.  I would rather have them folded if they can't use the correct hangar.  Again, i have a lot of silk and wool skirts that shouldn't have holes in them.

Prices are decent and service is great!

I love Soap Box!  They are my go-to spot for wash and fold laundry.  The service is fantastic (free delivery, and with a smile) and the price is very reasonable.  They only charge $0.85 a pound for wash and fold, and if you're a student like I am you can get 10% off by showing your student ID.

I recently asked them to clean a couple jackets of mine that are sensitive because they had some faux fur trim (apparently very difficult to clean without ruining), and were labeled "do not dryclean."  Robert advised me that a combination of hand wash and drycleaning was the best option.  I took his word for it, and I'm glad I did... my jackets came back beautiful, with no damage to the faux fur.  The best part-- they only charged me $8 a jacket for all that work!

Let's start of by saying they speak English at On Track Cleaners. Yes, let me repeat that for you... ENGLISH!

The young lady who helped me out was very friendly. Asked all the right questions to provide me with the best service (wash, fold, pressed, etc). Once there I found out they offered free pick up and delivery.  You know what the means?  No need drive to the cleaners, find parking (very hard in San Francisco), put coins in the meter, drag your laundry bag there, and then wait for your turn. Hassle free! Now, tell me if that didn't just seal the deal for you.

Soap Box Cleaners is the way to go!

Good bye hunting for quarters and hello to freedom! The washer and dryer in my building are terrible, and Soap Box Cleaner's pricing is comparable to the laundry mat. And even better I get my clothing folded, and my socks paired up!

This is such a time saver and they pick up and deliver!

    Heaven on earth.

Very reasonably priced considering how over-priced my apartment's laundry room is.  Well worth it for the convenience of someone else doing your laundry, and doing it well!  For us, dropping off laundry is more convenient than their delivery, but they still recognize our car and always come out to get our too full bag of stinky clothes.  Also, they recognized us by name after something like the 2nd visit, so that impressed me.  And, I accidentally left a $20 in a pocket, and it got returned.

I think I might be the only 1-star review here..

I went there when it was still called "On-Track Cleaner". I took my white jacket there because I had some alcohol spill on it during a night out. They couldn't get it off and still charge me money. I mean.. really???? They were to wash it again in regular machine but wanted me to pay for it.. and I ended up washing it by myself at home.

    Disappointed.

I've tried this dry cleaner 2x. I've been to other dry cleaners in San Francisco and I'm giving Soap Box Cleaners 2 stars because exactly as the rating says, "I've experienced better."

Soap Box Cleaners is cheap and really convenient for me. I most recently got 2 tops, 1 sweater, and 5 dresses all for $47.50 (one top was free). That's a really good steal but my biggest complaint is that my clothes come back smelling worse than when I took them there. It's an odd musty smell and I end up having to febreeze my clothes. Also, this time, my clothes came back a bit roughed up (particularly the dresses). The stiching in some areas had been considerably loosened and on one dress the stitching had come undone and the hanger strap was ripped out. Isn't dry cleaning supposed to be gentle?

You've done it again Yelp. This place is only a few blocks away from where I live, but I never would've found it if it wasn't for all the rave reviews on here.

The place is small and tidy with very extremely nice staff. Dry cleaned a full length coat for $8 and a sweater for $3. Is it just me or does dry cleaning make the garment less itchy?! Everything feels just like new once returned. Better yet...save yourself some gas money by scheduling FREE pick up and delivery in the SF area within a 1 hour time slot of your choosing. No need to wait around for 4 hours wondering when and if they will show like the dreaded cable guy.

And it doesn't end there. I received 25% off for being a first time customer.

    Customer for life.

It's a 4 star rating for the cleaning, 2 stars for the alterations I had done and the amount of time it took for them to be finished. I found this place online and wanted to support them because they're a green dry cleaning service. The cleaning part was great - well done and not with that horrible smell you get from regular dry cleaning. But when I arrived the day after they were supposed to be ready (I was not free to get them the day of), none of my clothes were there. I guess everything is done off-site and they had not been returned yet. The gentleman working told me they should be there any minute so I went next door to the coffee place to grab an iced tea. I sat and drank it and read the paper and then walked around the neighborhood a bit. Finally, when it was getting time for me to have to move on to do other time-sensitive errands, he called me to tell me my clothes were ready. And they were, except for a shirt I was having fixed - there was a rip in the back tail area that you tuck in. Their seamstress was still working on it and I would pay for it when it came back. This seemed a bit ridiculous, but I decided to be patient and wait and see how the work was.

They called me two days later and it was ready and looked fine when I picked it up. I wore it to work the next day and the rip was open again almost as soon as I tucked it in. The seamstress basically did a basting stitch to close the ripped area and nothing else. And that somehow took extra time! I had a similar rip in another shirt in the past and the place I took it to put a piece of slightly thicker fabric under the rip and then sewed over it to reinforce it. And that is what they did when I took this shirt back to them since it still had a big ol' rip in it. As I was making a trip out of my general neighborhood to go to Soap Box, I don't think I will go back for alterations. But I would stay with them for the cleaning, which was great.

You know the feeling of knowing that someone is talking about you right as you walk up to them? I kind of got the feeling everytime I called On Track Cleaners. But not because I thought the shop was filled with gossip queens, but instead, it was a self-imposed worry about what they thought about my laundry.

Oh, it's Bryan, the boy with only neon-colored briefs.

Oh, it's Bryan, the boy who owns American-Apparel deep v-necks in every color imaginable.

Oh, it's Bryan, who must like Seniore's because their sauce is all over his jeans.

Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed by On Track Cleaners' Wash and Fold service. Living in the Inner Richmond, I am blessed to be within their free pick-up and delivery service radius. When I called to schedule a pick-up, the nice gentleman on the phone told me that their wash and fold service was a bit backed up, and that it could be a few days to get it back. Seeing as there were tee shirts sitting at the bottom of my basket that had not yet been worn in the summer months, a few extra days wouldn't be so bad.

After a few days, my laundry was delivered by an an attractive young man (not that it would have mattered otherwise, but having aesthetically pleasing employees NEVER hurts) neatly folded in my laundry basket, with my multitude of briefs sitting on top. The charge for taking the burden of laundry off of my hands? Less than $24 (for a FULL basket.) They accept cash or credit, and even offer a student discount.

Yes, it would have been cheaper to do my laundry on my own. But the feeling of just having my laundry DONE on its own was reason enough to spend a few extra dollars. And with great service like this at On Track, it's money well-spent. And, when I run out of 80s-inspired underwear againm I will be calling.

I am HELLA DOWN with my dry cleaners. I totally would have never said something like that before, considering my frugal self, the relatively high price of dry cleaning versus my perceived (and probably wrong) notion of being able to wash those things yourself as long as you're careful, and my resistance to adapting the h-word for as long as I could withstand after becoming a permanent expatriate to the Bay. But sometimes, you learn to give in, with good reason of course...

Indeed, On Track has given me a new perspective of the chemical-conditioning biz. The staff is composed of a tight-knit handful of hardworking, fresh-faced entrepreneurs--On Track is their business venture. Nestled between two happening restaurants and a showroom of giant-sized pottery, they manage their shop with the professionalism and efficiency of a business that has been up and running for years, yet they've been open for less than one.

I've gone to On Track for dry cleaning as well as their alteration services. If I recall the pricing correctly, they've charged 12.00 each for taking in a dress and hemming another, 8.00 for hemming a pair of pants, 6.00 for dry cleaning short dresses, and 3.50 for dry cleaning pants. I could be wrong, but aren't most of those prices MURDEROUSLY lower than what you'd normally pay?? At such a reasonable cost, I WANT to bring stuff in. And when my clothes are ready, I always get a nice personal phone call from one of the On Track guys, which is clearly not necessary but entirely appreciated.

And when I'm done writing this review, I'm totally printing it out and bringing it in when I pick up my dry cleaning this afternoon, because they'll discount me for it! These guys are awesome. COME HERE!!!

**On a side note, On Track also reunites families! The first time I came in and my name was put in the system, my cousin (same last name) came up and I realized 1) she lives in San Francisco and 2) we used to live 6 blocks from each other and didn't even know it! Thanks to On Track, last week we saw each other for the first time in years :)

Wash and Fold is the greatest service ever.  It beats lugging your laundry to the cleaners and waiting 2 hours to get 'er done.

I scheduled a pick up with On Track last Friday and got my clean clothes back in 1 day.  It was easy and lightening fast! Did I mention pretty reasonable?  It was only $11 for a good load of laundry :) ($2.50 xtra b/c I live in Laurel Heights)

But the most surprising thing was that I got my washed up $20 bill back!  Which was awesome!!!!  I'm notorious for leaving money in my jean pockets and I'm glad to know there are honest people still out there!  Thanks On Track Cleaners, you guys rock!

Found On Track Cleaners on Yelp, and was thrilled it was open on a Sunday (very rare for dry cleaners in the Richmond) as I had a few items I wanted dry cleaned and needed by Wed.

Walked in and I already could tell it wasn't your average mom and pop Asian owned dry cleaner. Much more modern and the guys behind the counter were younger and seemed very knowledgeable. I was put into their computer system, a receipt print out came out and was told that my items would be ready by noon on Wed. Awesome!

Picked up my items and the guy from Sunday remembered me. My items (and wine stained blouse) came out perfect. Decently prices--3 items (2 blouses and 1 pair of slacks) for $10.50, and they accept debit/credit cards ($10 minimum)!!

I'm going back for sure; great service, open late and on Sunday (!)...plus, the frequent dry cleaning cards is a great incentive!

This is by far THE BEST dry cleaner of all times. Within 10 minutes of calling them they were at my front door to pick up my cleaning. They are professional, freakishly nice, and an unbeatable price. Not to mention my clothes are being delivered back to me two days later!

    Highly recommended.

I may have found my dry cleaners here in the city.  Close enough for the free delivery and reasonably priced, this place is convenient and affordable.  The service here is great!  The person helping me asked if i've been there before, checked to see if she can get me any discounts or somehow lower the price to see if any of my shirts were launderable instead of dry clean only.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case this time around, but it was nice of her to check!

Clothes came back 3 days later in great condition.  There was one spot on my shirt they couldn't get out, but they at least tried and noted that it wasn't overlooked.

    I'll be back soon enough!

Well, I would like to give them a 5 star since they have been doing their job great! We needed a dry cleaning/alteration place in our neighborhood. And we got one and everybody is happy :)
The  staff is also really friendly..

This was a Yelp find, good cleaning at fair prices.

My wife has been taking my dry cleaning back to our old neighborhood for last 7 years since I moved to the inner Richmond area.  Finally, checked out On Track and I'm not disappointed with our first experience with them except when my wife asked them to replace the buttons on a blouse since more than half the buttons were cracked, they didn't do it.  Even though when they took our laundry, the young man said it wasn't a problem.  I picked up our laundry and a young lady was extremely friendly and let me know that they pickup local laundry and deliver completed laundry without charge... now, is that service!

This review is easy. If I could give 100 stars I would.

At first I was a bit skeptical about the whole laundry delivery service thing, having someone pick up my stanky sheeiit and then returning it folded neatly had me on edge at first thought.  I just wasn't quite comfortable enough letting someone else grope my laundry, let alone trust the delivery process.

Another hesitation/expectation of mine was the native language/cultural barrier snafoo I usually run into when dealing with a dry cleaning service.  I usually get the quick 3 or 4 word barf of jumbled gibberish right before they slap a receipt in my hand and say "ready in 4 day."  4 day?  shouldn't it be 4 days?  Whatever - On-Track not only speaks fluent native English but they also gave me friendly confirmation calls before they picked up and dropped off...so I didn't have to wait around between the hours of 5-10pm, more like 5:45-6pm...easy peasy.

Here's a quick summary of the how it went down:

--Cost: $0.80 / lb for laundry, $5 for coats  ---WTF?? - other places demand your first born child for a quick clean and press.

I had 25 lbs of clothes (standard laundry hooper stuffed to the gills), 3 shirts needing to be washed and pressed seperately, and 2 sport coats and the total bill was $36 hand delivered to and from my door. A standard laundry basket full of clothes pretty much costs about $20 bucks total.

    Enough blabbing already...

Don't kid yourself, you're as lazy as an opium den season ticket holder when it comes to doin' laundry, call these guys ASAP.

Everything always comes back clean/pressed/smelling good, just how I want it - I don't know a lot about dry cleaning, but that seems to warrant five stars.  Cheapness, timeliness, and friendly service round it out for me.  Plus, I feel like I can actually trust Soap Box - I never have to wonder if I really want these people to be touching my dirty laundry.

All of this is enough to warrant my plan to continue to come here even after I move out of the neighborhood next week.

I'm writing this review since my boyfriend's review has mysteriously disappeared from Yelp.

So my boyfriend and I went to dinner one night and the server dropped a plate of food on the ground near our table. The restaurant (Absinthe) offered to pay for the dry cleaning for my boyfriend's pants. He took them to On Track because they've always done a good job and are very reasonably priced.

When he went to pick them up, he handed over $4 for the $3.50 dry cleaning charge. The cashier rings it up and then says "oh sorry man, I don't have any more change. Is that cool?" Um no it's not freaking cool to pay 50 cents more for a dry cleaning job that someone else is paying for. It's not like we're buddies and you're short-changing me for a beer, but will buy me one some other time. You're a BUSINESS, which means you should run like a business, including giving customers appropriate change for what they pay for. The cashier also refused to give him a receipt for the amount he actually paid such that he could get fully reimbursed by Absinthe. Killer customer service...

I used to love this place, but will never go back there after this.
