I absolutely love this place. The snow is delicious and it makes your mouth and taste buds go WTF !? It is a very unique taste and flavor and it melts right in your mouth. It is delicious and it has a very wild feeling in your mouth. I enjoy the mango snow and the strawberry snow very much. I have had my share of snows that I did not like at this place but I always find something new that I love. The peanut was my newest love until I tasted the special. Keep trying new things !

Pros - The price is affordable and the portion is amazing. Make sure you ask for extra syrup if you like a lot of sweetness and flavor. There are also chairs in front of it so you can sit, relax and enjoy.

Cons - Only thing I can think of is that some of the snows are not so great and that it gets kind of messy. That is all.

I love this place and I believe everyone should try it.

So interesting! It's not shaved ice. It's a flavored ice block that is shaved by fine layers - which gives a light snow texture. It took me some time to wrap my head around it because I am only familiar with the regular shaved ice with toppings and condensed milk. The owner was very nice and tried explaining it to me.

This is the only store in the US! It is originally from Taiwan.

There are plenty of flavors to choose from. They come with a flavored syrup topping. I tried the Green Tea. It was excellent - not too sweet. There are even directions on how to eat the snow miracle. You use a fork and let it melt in your mouth.

It was so much fun eating it. I highly recommend you try it!! I'll definitely come back here again to try other flavors.

They have a bar with bar stools on the side to hang out. Or there are some small tables and chairs off on the side too. It's located inside Oakridge Mall; therefore abides by the mall hours. I think it would do really well outside for the late night dessert, like frozen yogurt.

This place is a MIRACLE! OMG. I really ate a bowl of heaven today. When you first approach this place, you probably would think this place is your typical asian dessert place.  BUT, it's not.

Anyone who lives in the Bay Area must try this place.  If you don't, you're missing out, seriously.  And you won't be cool. All the cool people eat at Snow Miracle.

The ice is actually FLAVORED! Now how many shaved ice places have flavored ice??? They have all kinds of flavors from lychee to green apple to green tea to passion fruit! Ordering a dessert here is pretty simple.  At first, when my BF and I arrived, we were pretty overwhelmed by all the pictures.  But once we got the gist of it, it's really easy.  First, you pick a flavored "snow".  We picked milk.  You can't go wrong with milk for the first time.  Next, you pick a syrup flavor.  We chose peach.

When you put those two together, I guarantee you, you'll have a mini orgasm.  No joke. Also, they have instructions on how to eat it.  The 3rd rule I believe was "if you close your eyes, it'll taste better".  Man that rule is totally true!!

The ice itself is NOT ICE!  Well, it is made out of ice, but when you take that first bite, you'll be surprised!  The texture itself tastes like a cloud.  I swear, when you take that first scoop and put it in your mouth, it's like you're scooping a piece of cloud into your mouth. A piece of a cumulus cloud I believe.

Anyways, everyone MUST try this place.  At least once.  It's definitely one of the best shaved ice I've ever eaten.

Wow! I can't belive I have kept walking by this place. At first, I thought it was going to be snow cones or, at best, shave ice.

This is much better - it is like frozen air and has almost as few calories. There is a good selection of both Taiwanese and Western flavors and the man who runs it is very friendly.

It is a huge favorite of the toddler - I'll have to start buying her one for herself so I will get to eat some of mine.

I finally got to trying out this place with a friend and I have to say its amazing how this shop can get the texture of frozen cotton candy.

Hard to describe, its one of those you have to just try it. Not quite gelato, though as intense in flavor, not quite shaved iced in the sense that every bite is consistent. Bought strawberry which you can never go wrong with, but I can't wait to test out the other ones too.

I came here with Michael K. and it was like we were in Taiwan again, eating shaved ice and doing Asian poses (http://static.px.yelp....), only we were actually in San Jose! I got so excited that I forgot to take a picture of my white peach shaved ice, which was pretty delicious.

The store itself is very modest, located in the corner of Oakridge Mall. The shaved ice looked kinda ghetto in the pictures (http://static.px.yelp....). I was disappointed about the lack of fresh fruit, but not really about the lack of multi-colored sprinkles in my shaved ice.

You can choose from a variety of flavors including green tea, Formosa flavor (Guava I think), kiwi, cantalouple...I was really skeptical at first, but it turns out all the syrups are 100% natural! So indeed, my white peach tasted like white peach! The shaved ice was velvety soft and melt-in-your-mouth refreshing, less icy and more refined and delicate than what you would get at typical shaved ice places around the bay. I'm used to places around here where they pour condensed milk on top of the ice, but at Snow Miracle the milk is PART of the ice, which really does make a difference.

For those who are on a strict diet...fear not! Each shaved ice is about 100 calories.

Also, the guy working was super cool. Woot.

Yum yum yum! So light and refreshing, Snow Miracle makes for a great alternative to the heavier dessert options at the mall. It's kinda like indulging, but without the bloat and guilty feeling afterwards. ^_~
I tried the coconut snow, which was quite the treat. I'd liken the flavor to coconut milk or sorbet. But the texture was something new entirely. So light and delicate, I imagine this is what eating a snowflake is like... just not nearly as yummy or smooth, of course. Just before it dissipates into nothing but a delicious memory, Snow feels velvet smooth on the tongue. For a unique oral experience (Not THAT kind!), check this place out.

Funny thing worth mentioning: There are instructions on how to eat your Snow.

The name of this place couldn't be more accurate.  The snow shaved ice here is nothing short of a miracle.

Snow Miracle is an import from Taiwan, where the most delicious shaved ice is born.  What makes this shaved ice stand apart from the rest is its texture and taste.  The texture is literally like freshly fallen snow.  They do this by taking a big block of ice and actually shaving the ice into what ends up looking like really thin pieces of paper.  The taste is achieved by mixing milk and other flavors into the ice before it is frozen and by using fresh ingredients.  In Taiwan, I had mango shaved ice every day topped with fresh cubes of mango and condensed milk.

Snow Miracle gets the texture down.  It's almost like an exact replica of what you get in Taiwan.  I just wish the bowls were bigger, which basically means I wish I got two orders instead of just one.  I got the Milk Snow with Mango, meaning they shaved the milk ice and drizzled natural mango syrup on top.  At first, I thought the syrup would be lame, but after talking with the worker there, he explained that everything was made from natural ingredients, not concentrate or preservatives.  After tasting the mango syrup, I knew he wasn't lying.  It was awesome.  I also tried the White Peach Snow, but nothing is as good or nostalgic as a mango flavored shaved ice.  The best part is that it's a really light dessert and never leaves you feeling gross or guilty.

If I wasn't going to school soon, I would have talked with the owner to manage a place in Los Angeles or something just so that I could have it every freaking day.  And when mangoes are in season, I would cut my own cubes and put them on top.  But I can't, so until then, I'll continue making trips to San Jose.

GET:  Milk Snow with Mango

Weird, weird texture. My head screamed shave ice, my taste buds screamed ice cream.

The snow maker dude behind the counter had his annoying friend pester us with comments like, 'Snow tastes like heaven on earth.' His presence took away from the whole experience. Bleh, annoying little slob.

Got the Mango Snow and my friend got the Banana Split (which looked rather wretched, like.. dirty snow) but both tasted according to flavor. I'd rather take shave ice though, cause snow really makes you feel like you're eating flavored air. It's THAT light. Definitely should try it, but I'd rather not have snow more than once.

I love this place! Alvin has a great business. He provides great service and the shave ice is delish. It is like frozen cotton candy. My favorite flavors are: orange, lemon with strawberry syrup, kiwi with strawberry syrup, pear, grape, blueberry and the list goes on. If are not on the fruity side he has chocolate, coffee with chocolate syrup and green tea and my favorite peanut with chocolate syrup (it tastes like a frozen Reese's peanut butter cup). It is fairly price and he takes card.

I'm an avid movie goer, Snow Miracle is located near the movie theater in Oakridge Mall. As advertised on their website- they have 30 different flavors, the taste is like frozen cotton candy. I had the French Vanilla Snow with Chocolate syrup lightly drizzled on top. It was tasty. It was frozen. It did taste like frozen cotton candy. Simply a light and sweet treat!

Noelle's Notes
A good spot for a light dessert!
They have a frequent buyer card.

I had been curious about this place for a while and had seen several others attempt to do business in this little corner next to Target and fail over the years. But after I read my friend Amanda G's review on this place, I knew I had to try it!! (Some are) Lactose free and low in calories...perfect for my sensitive stomach.

This dessert is very popular in Taiwan so when I came to the mall with my In-Laws I decided to take them here to check it out. They were both very surprised that it's pretty similar to what they have in Taiwan. Cooollll....scoring brownie points with my Father in Law who is VERY hard to please.

I ordered the White Peach (which is not lactose free but sounded good at the time!) and they ordered Longan. The white peach was very tasty and flavorful. It's amazing that something so sweet has so few calories and fat. My In-Laws had the Longan which I did not like....I believe it's an acquired taste for sure. Two desserts for less then 200 calories you really can't go wrong!

Check it out....it might be weird for some to eat this since its so light and you eat it with a fork...but it's pretty tasty and not filling at all. Just the right amount of sweetness for your mouth after dinner or lunch.

We will definitely be back! It will be my summer love affair when at the mall (which is a lot hehe)

WOW!!! This has to be one of the coolest things I've discovered in awhile:)

We never go to this mall, but the Target there had something that was out of stock at our usual Target. My husband was wandering around, and saw this place. Since the owner claimed it was better than shave ice, we were very curious. When I saw that nearly all the flavors were under a 100 calories, I was sold.

OMG!!!! What a perfectly delightful food! As many other reviewers have mentioned it is similar to cool cotton candy. Fluffy, light, a nearly indescribable mouth feel.

It's too bad it's in a kind of inconvenient location. If it wasn't I'd probably be back everyday.

I can't wait to go back!!!! If you haven't tried this yet, you have to make the trek up there to try it. You won't be sorry!

**It just might be the perfect dessert: lots of flavors, super low-cal, and you actually get a pretty substantial amount for so few calories.**

This place is pretty awesome. If you're looking for a light dessert at Oakridge, look no further! Ordered a coffee snow and a Seko's Special and both were great. The guy asked if I wanted a topping on the coffee one and I chose chocolate. Great suggestion! The prices are fairly reasonable ($3-$4 for a cup [you get more for your money at a yogurt place]). Will come back!

I'll admit that I was skeptical at first... when I first saw Snow Miracle, I was convinced that it was just more random mall nonsense. But one day, I was craving shaved ice... and I was hooked after the first snowy bite. To date, I've had the strawberry and coconut flavors. Coconut was by far... the most delicious coconut-flavored anything that I've ever had. Usually, coconut-flavored stuff is too saccharine... it's really difficult to find a good coconut flavor. Coconut snow, however, is light, refreshing, and delicious.

The owner is awesome too, by the way. He takes the time to explain the most efficient way to eat the snow. He also suggests different flavor/syrup combos. Though... I love the coconut snow so much, I will probably not want to deviate from it.

I highly recommend Snow Miracle to anyone and everyone.

I would of never guess I would love this place so much. Like many fellow yelpers, I never paid attention to this place. It look weird and empty. I thought it was any regular ice cream place. So for months and months I pass by it. Then I found great reviews on yelp. I was thinking really? this place?. I decided to give it a shot, why not? OH EM GEE can I say Fluffy and Delicious. I tried the mango, the white peach, and the litchi, my favorite got to be the mango. I introduce it to all my friends and family and they were simply amaze at how soft and fluffy it was. The price is not to bad, it average. I look this up online, It is the only store in the U.S. are we lucky or what.

ONE OF THE BEST ICE CREAM/SHAVED ICE in san joseeee.
you'll never taste anything like this anywhere else!!

I used to work at Oakridge in the food court and read the reviews for this place and everyone had great things to say, i was so curious too about trying ice cream that was like flavored 'fresh powder' snow.

I went for the first time and got honeydew with honeydew syrup on top.
than 2nd time i got white peach(verrrry good)
3rd time i got the formosa snow(guava, orange and something else)
reeeeeeally good!!!!
and today i got the yellow peach! has a good tarty flavor, but i still like the white peach :P
and ive taken people here with me and everyone says they loooove it and its something so different. Even on a rainy day i had this 'snow'
it just melts in your mouth and is so light, doesnt make you feel guilty about eating it. The owner is Taiwanese and is a very cool chill dude!
he kept telling me to write a review and i felt bad that i hadn't so finally got some time today :)

i only got 1 more stamp to go than i get my 11th one free! yay!
lovelovelove the snowwwwwwwww

This place is freakin' awesome!!! The guy that worked there told us that this was the only place like it in the entire U.S. I haven't done the research so I'll believe him for now. My mom was the one that decided to try Snow Miracle after she didn't like her mango sorbet from Haagen Daz (she thought it was too sweet). My boyfriend and I were curious so we wanted to watch them make the "miracle".  The man pulls a mango flavored piece of ice out of the freezer, sticks it into the machine and catches the shavings into the cup. By watching the "miracle" I thought it was going to taste just like regular shaved ice. I was so WRONG! My mom was nice enough to shave with us and when I placed the spoon in my mouth, I was amazed. It was so light and fluffy!! Unlike any shaved iced I've ever had in my life. It was almost  like eating a fluffy cloud :D

Best thing about this place is that the different flavors have low calories and little to no fat at all. I will definitely be going back there, can't wait to taste all the flavors of the "miracle"

If you haven't tried this yet, you need to. And if you've been here once, you need to go again.

This treat is very similar to what can be found in a number of places in Asia, although the company says they developed their unique "frozen cotton candy" in the United States. No matter its origin, I was ecstatic to see a place like this open in my own backyard.

The shaved ice can be made with or without milk depending on the flavor - and I have to say that with milk is the only way to go. Mmmmm! Coconut snow is a personal favorite.

TIP: Eat slowly or risk brain freeze.

Yeah, it really does melt in your mouth.. and then it disappears!  I finished the whole thing and felt like i didn't eat anything!  I would rather spend $3.99 on Haagen Dazs next door.  Overrated.

I will say this, though.  I ordered the Mango one.  It was good.  The shaved ice texture was different and smooth.  The flavor was good.  If you've never tried it before, you should.  I mean, everyone else here seems to like it so maybe you will, too.

I've been to this place twice. The first time was just walking by and wondering what type of dessert is this. Second, was obviously we were coming back for more....The guy who works there piles is so high....it's awesome! They had a lot of selection to choose from, but on top of the selection there super-low calories, everything was under 100 calories....I think it way better then the haagen daza, what can you get for a 100 calories? the sample spoon bite!  Also, they have those buy 10 get one free cards, and you don't eat it with a spoon you eat with a fork!

The mango was awesome......Love the texture
The lychee is really good, but my favor is still mango for now.

In the area, MUST try! Even if your not still make a trip here, summer here and I'm pretty sure they will start to have long lines...

Ok, this stuff is phenomenal.  I loved it.  The flavors are absolutely true to the fruit in question and it seems that the fruit itself is key to making the flavor.  The pear had the little grain texture like it was a pear turned to snow.  We had a couple of families together and got a ton of different flavors to try: vanilla, chocolate, pear, green apple, guava, mango, lemon, grape, banana, honeydew, and white peach.

It's fantastic.  I highly recommend trying this stuff.  I've never had anything else like it.

I've walked by this place quite a few times on my way to Target and finally tried it yesterday...

I tested out the lactose-free variety in the flavor of red plum... at first it was really sweet... but I got used to the sweetness... it was good =)  I got the regular size and he put this syrup over it.  He gave me a couple pointers, DO NOT stir the snow and DO NOT smush the snow... I giggled and did as he said hehe...  The consistency is so entertaining to me it kinda looks like tissues lol...  I went, sat down at the leather massage chairs, and enjoyed my snowy treat =)

I am definitely coming back again when my stomach feels up to testing the dairy flavors... they look quite tasty!  They also have these kinds of meal deals where you get all sorts of snacks, chicken, pot stickers, fries, drinks, and snow.. all for under $20 they have about three different ones to choose from...

The guy there is very patient and let me stare at the flavor list for quite some time before I chose... I was entertained watching him bring out the brick of snow and make mine... he was nice and friendly too... and gave me a frequent buyer card which always wins me over...

I'll be back for more!

Okay, so me, my boyfriend and my roommate had this the other night.

First they didnt want anything, so I ordered a small lychee, my fave. Then my roomie got jealous and he ordered a green tea for him and pineapple for my boyfriend.

THAT'S NOT THE END OF THE STORY.

After my boyfriend finished his, he noticed they had red plum. and he ordered that too. You read that right, he has 2 snow miracles in less than ten minutes.

We sat here for half an hour and ordered 4 snow miracles for 3 people. The owner, Alvin is very nice and keeps a clean shop. I like that. He even hung out with us and made fun of my boyfriend for eating so damn much.  I also like that they have  stamp card. We filled up like half that card in one sitting.

FATTIES!

It really tastes like snow!!! (Or what I think snow should taste like...) Anywooo, so my cousins took me here while I was up in the Bay to visit them. I kept looking at the calories info and most of the snow miracle flavors are less than 100 calories! WHOAAA!!!

it tastes so light and fluffy. I like the mango snow and milk snow flavors... The calories probably come from the syrup not the snow haha!

What a freekin oral orgasm (the proper way). YUM.

I was one of those weird ass skeptics that stand 2 feet away from people (who've already ordered and are munching on their Snow Miracle) and stare. After much engaged eye contact, I decided to split a Green Tea Snow with my sissy and our tag along cousin.

Turns out, they made me a sugar-free one, and it looked exactly like a Snow Cone.

I said, "I hope you're not expecting me to eat that, because I wanted a freekin Snow Miracle." The guy behind the register politely replied, "No problem, we have a money back gurantee!"

WOAH!- I thought. No Coldstone or Jamba Juice ever gave me a money back gurantee! So on the second try he made me a Banana Snow topped with a ribbon of chocolate and a sprinkle of almonds. AH, freekin delicious.

The service is wonderful, hospitable, and they deal with irritable customers like myself. This dessert is like frozen cotton candy on speed, tastes like fireworks, and is calorically invisible (well, I wish it was). I have never ever tried anything like it, and it blew my mind.

What more could you freekin want?

There are a number of good points to this place (in no particular order):

1. VERY friendly owner. We talked about the product, him, and his business for quite some time.
2. Lots of flavors to choose from (I think about 20 as of now).
3. Relatively low calorie and low fat - especially compared to other desserts (it's right next to a Haagen Dazs).
4. Cool counter seats (makes for good discussion of the different flavors all your friends are trying).

Only legit negative I can really think of: no samples. There's a reason for it though. The stuff is kept frozen until it's ready to be prepared and served. Unlike ice cream, where WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get, yeah I know I got nerdy with that acronym). It's fun to watch it being prepared though. If you go with a group of friends, I suggest you all trying different flavors and sampling from each other.

Here's a little rundown of my experience there:

So a group of us went here based on my friend's recommendation and the fact that she had been there 3 times this week (quite the loyal fan, she has a frequent buyer card). By looking at the place, I first thought to myself, "What makes this place so special? It just looks like any other Asian dessert or pearl tea place." So I look around the walls and see all the different flavors. I like the selection, but I'm also not so picky so it makes it a little hard to choose, but that's part of the fun. I chose the coconut flavor. After my coconut snow was made, Alvin (I thought he said his name was Elvin, but he explained to me it was like "Alvin and the Chipmunks," HAHA!) had suggested a pineapple syrup on top at no extra charge because some say it tastes like pina colada. He didn't disappoint. I was very happy with my choice.

All the flavors I sampled from my friend's tasted pretty close to what they should taste like. What's really cool is how light and fluffy it is. It also won't make you feel heavy afterward like ice cream can do sometimes. We sat and chatted with Alvin about the product and his new business for awhile after we finished our desserts. He also willingly waited for our other friends to arrive, even though it was 30 minutes past closing by the time they arrived (It's okay, I think our presence brought in some other extra customers outside of our group anyhow).

I can agree it's a bit like a cold cotton candy because of how it forms in your mouth after you take a scoop of it. If you have your doubts, I say it's worth it just to say you tried the place, cause it's the ONLY one in the U.S. (as far as I know, and I've been to a few states).

A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE! TRY THE FORMOSA!

I go here every time I step foot inside the mall! If you are in the area, and in the mood for something cold and tasty, I would highly recommend you stop off. Definitely a very unique treat and there are so many great flavors...though, I've yet to try most of them, since I can't seem to stop getting the White Peach Snow!

Oh yeah, and don't call it shaved ice, as it's snow! =)

Walked by this place a couple of times thinking it was nothing else but another snow-cone shop. Turns out I was totally mistaken.

If you could turn cotton candy into ice cream, you have snow miracle.
The flavor of this snow stuff is awesome! I tried the lychee flavor and plan on trying many more. It was sweet & fluffy, perfect if you have a sweet tooth, but looking for something very light. The owner is extremely nice and tells you how to eat it. (Don't stir the stuff, just scoop and eat)

This is a must try if you ever walk by the Target at Oakridge.

My friend Stacie introduced me and my friends to this place.  First thing I noticed as I walk in Oakridge was...o...it looks like another Asian place...but what the heck...might as well try it.

So, I ordered the taro and sat in the bar stools w/ my friends.  When Alvin, the owner, gave me my order, he said "Don't stir it and smuch it," so I followed his advice.  So I took a bit...and the first thing that entered my mind was eating the snow while I was snowboarding in Lake Tahoe.  The good thing about this is that it isn't too sweet, but the taste and texture is awesome!  My second bite reminded me of eating cotton candy...but cold.

One of my friends didn't like the Mango (he doesn't like mango anyways...why did he even order mange?) and I ate his.  Boy, was it also good.  One of my friends called me and I told him where I was.  It was 8:58PM when he called, and Alvin said that he won't close yet till my other friend comes.  So my friend arrived at 9:15PM and we all bought a second round.

I was going to order Seko's special, but Alvin made a special one for me.  He put Rose, Red Plum, and Green Tea syrup in mine.  If you are brave and like trying out new things, try ROSE.  It is sweet with a hint of sourness, and if you smelled a rose before, that's exactly how it tastes.  Plus, there's a bit of texture in it.

All in all, it was a very good experience.  I would definately go back there again and bring more friends.  Some places have good food but bad servers.  Some places have bad food, but good servers.  This is the best of both worlds - good food, good server...owner.

FYI, this is the only place in the United States like this!

It's so hard to find a good shaved ice place anywhere and I was suprised that one existed in a mall! My fam took me here and I didn't have high expectations because it was in a mall.

I had the green tea and I have to say it was quite interesting! They take a block of flavored ice and shave it off to fill a bowl. It's a good dessert because it's light, airy, fluffy, and not too sweet.

I tried this place after reading reviews posted here.  I got the pineapple and it was so good.  The man working there told me I should try the coconut with pineapple syrup.  So next time I go I will get that combination.  There is a good selection of flavors too.

I love Snow Miracle.  I first stumbled on it by accident looking for another dessert shop, but the owner of the place convince me to try it and well...I did. It was so good. I love mango, personally.

According to me and some of my friends, we can say that Snow Miracle is pack full of flavors and it truly does just melts in your mouth. I really is like eating cotton candy, except with more flavors. Any Snow Miracle, you'll try and I'll bet you that you'll keep coming back for more.

I'm always and willingly to travel by light rail just to get some Snow Miracle, and sometimes the light rail trip are usually 1 hr to 1.5 hr. but it's totally worth it. Each time I go, i always try a new flavor and so far, every single one i have try is delicious.

Service here is great, the owner of Snow Miracle always gives off an amazing aura to the place. You'll feel good being there despite the nosiness of the people at the mall and yet you'll feel even better eating Snow Miracle.

Snow Miracle is a great "pick me up" dessert to have and you won't even have to feel guilty about eating it verse eating ice cream or junk food.

Tell your friends, take your friends here... Snow Miracle is great to have at any time despite the weather. If it's cold out, get Snow Miracle, you'll just feel so amazing eating it that you won't notice how cold out it is. And in the summer time, Snow Miracle is just the right light cool down dessert you need. On an autumn night, Snow Miracle is a great way to end your day.

I recommend having Snow Miracle whenever you want something delicious and yet you won't feel guilty at all.

Oh yeah their chili fries are so good too, it's perfect portion and right amount of chili for the fries. Yummy.

Y'all I don't know about all this commotion of Frozen Yogurt and it's craze, but you are better off eating Snow Miracle. Because it's way more refreshing, more flavorful, more healthier and there's no guilt or shame for going for seconds or more. I'm not saying I hate eating it, that's just my opinion on the Frozen Yogurt craze.

Wow!  This place didn't disappoint.  Amazing flavor selection.  Unique product (cotton candy textured shave ice...light, delicate, flavorful, satisfying).  Fair price.  Friendly service.  What else could you ask for?
